This story was amazing. The sheer depth of it drew me in. I couldn't stop reading. well done. Very well done. I was awash in tears at the end. It was beautiful. Just beautiful.

*blink, blink* Oh, you devious authoress. To have thrown Tramd o' the Dark in there with a random meeting with Dalamar. I nearly laughed aloud at that little tidbit, so shocked was I... and very pleased to see it as well. I had the feeling that I should have recognized the dark-robed dwarven mage but couldn't wrap my memory around it until the name was given. *nods* Very devious indeed. I like the way you think.

    Great chapter as always.

Dalamar's grief must be great if he forgets his magic in the wake of losing Raistlin. But I can understand. They've been together for a long time, bound by more than just their mutual love for magic.

I really feel for the pain that Raistlin must be going through. While Dalamar believes, and has good reason to, to a certain extent of Raistlin's health, Raistlin doesn't have that same minor assurance. Not to mention whatever he is suffering at Fistandantilus' and the Dark Queen's hands. I shudder to think of it.

I like the fact that Dalamar keeps forgetting Raistlin is not with him. It truly shows how much they had been ingrained in each others lives and how much they meant to each other. It wasn't surprising that Dalamar chose to leave the group. Without Raistlin at his side, dealing with their idiocy was probably more than he could stand. Being forced to remain in Caramon's presence wasn't helping matters either.

I loved the original series, but a large part of me wishes this is the way it had actually gone. It is so beautifully tragic.

    On to chapter four!

The pain Dalamar is going through must be entirely unbearable. That type of strong love is very gripping. It is enough to make a man - elf - normally strong enough to deal with the usual hatred, actually finding it hurt for once. I find the realism in this fact extremely wonderful. It's so hard to find that in fanfiction. Most people are convinced that since its fanfiction everything has to be happy all the time, until a reason for contrived angst is randomly thrown in. But it is obvious, even from the first story, that Dalamar's difficulty in trusting Raistlin is carrying an effect even this far in. Simply astounding.

    On to chapter three!

I'm a terrible, terrible person for not reviewing this like the lazy sod I am. But now, I have recently re-read the series and feel capable of commenting intelligently on this wonderful series of fics.

Your writing, as always, is superb. I thoroughly enjoy how you describe the emotions of the characters, Dalamar and Raistlin especially. It is almost as if I can feel them for myself and I envy you for that ability. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this (I'm only at chapter one at this point) and am interested in what paths you will take to see these two together again. More reviews to come.

I have to say that I am utterly in love with your rendition of the DragonLance series. Every time I read them, I find myself snorting at all the "I'm Raistlin, I'm mindlessly evil" drivel that Hickman and Weis put in there. To hear your story is totally refreshing and something I want to hear more of (although I do hope that Dalamar get;s Raistlin back soon!). Everything- from Raistlin calling the elves out on their blatant hipocrasy to the sharp insults that Dalamar and Raistlin have for all the rest of their group- I want to read more!

Oh my goodness, what a cliffhanger! You are absolutely brilliant Skull_Bearer, and I admire your tenacity in continuing the Ivory and Ebony series (the rest of which I will read soon!). I much prefer your version of the books rather than reams of half-elf angst. (I.E. "Oh noes! I have two hot babes in love with me, what _ever_ shall I dooooo~")

I wonder what Raistlin's reaction will be in the next part...or perhaps, more importantly, the joint reactions of he and Fistandantilus. Poor Dalamar...either way, he's in for it. This also isn't the first time I've wanted to take a stick and _smack_ Caramon upside the head for being so thick-skulled.

Carry on the good work! And now, off to read the rest of the series...*grins*
