Reviews for Peace on Earth

Wow. HOnestly I don't think I'd survive in the town you live in, or even manage to tolerate it on a daily basis. Not simply because I'm bisexual, but because, having a lot of friends with different beliefs and orientations, has made it so that I really don't like to take that kind of close minded crap from anyone. Whether in regards to me or others I see.

As for your work displayed here as the result of it, I feel even more...well..honestly I don't know what word I'm looking for. Enlightened, happy, more open minded in regards to my outlook on life? Whatever the word or phrase I'm looking for is, I know that it is good, and it is thanks to you and "Peace on Earth."

Two more things. Yes, I agree. How are any of us to know whether or not Jesus and Muhammad were gay? So many different possibilities that we ourselves, through countless years of clouding our minds and filling our heads with stubborn notions, ever conceive such an idea?

And two, again I agree. Were Jesus, Muhammad, or any other higher being were to see what has become of the world once they left it, and the ignorance we've developed, I'm sure they would probably be distraught over what civilizations worldwide have become.

(sorry if I'm starting to get on your nerves with lengthy reviews... So, before I start to annoy you enough to where you begin contemplating the act of shunning me -as so many others have- I think I'll end this 'review' on that note.

Heh, most of my stories are early-stage, barely into the main plots at all, but yeah, this is one I'm proud of.

The inspiration for this story probably comes from being bisexual and living in a down-south, heavily-Christian city. We have a very strong anti-gay sentiment around here, and it's dangerous...often physically dangerous...to be known as anything but heterosexual 'round these parts.

Of course, it's not just a Christian thing, being anti-gay. Nearly all major religions have this viewpoint. So I figured, what would the legendary icons of the two biggest ones, Jesus and Muhammad, think about the issue?

Then I had another thought: what if all these ancient manuscripts, passed from one generation to the next, maintained by politically powerful churches and religious leaders, have been doctored, or outright made-up, over the centuries?

How do we know that Jesus and Muhammad aren't gay? How would we, if all our lives we've been taught from these 'infallible' texts that homosexuality is wrong?

So I started writing. Partly to anger the hyper-religious bastards who make up the majority of this world, partly to show a vastly different portrayal of two religious icons.

You know what's disturbing? If Jesus and Muhammad came down to earth today, telling the world of their true teachings of compassion and love, many would not listen. They'd be so engrossed in their hatred, their generations-old bigotry, that they'd ignore a message of love and tolerance straight from the mouth of the Son of God and the Prophet.

This story, and its upcoming sequel, will be sexually explicit, yes. But they are about far more than mere sex...they are about the love of two men, something that could be real and covered up by fear and hatred.

Glad you enjoyed, and yes, there will be more to come. :-D

    LOVE SHALL REIGN SUPREME!

Ahem...I got started looking through the other stories you had going on or had already begun (ashamed am I that I am barely doing so now..). This is definitely one tale that could (or at least should) get a person thinking. Learning to tolerate other people's beliefs, preferences, ideals is something that humanity in general really needs to work on. Though it shouldn't end there. Next should come acceptance. Learning to accept people for who they are and what their hopes and dreams are. FInally should come Love. To love people for their differences. I wonder if mankind will ever get it right.

Ver interesting way of pointing out, at least a portion, of the human race's faults. I really have to wonder what got you inspired (not to just write about this, but for the actual pairing). Either way, this was a very good (hopefully enlightening for some) read. Take care.

I've decided to call the sequel "The Second Coming" instead, HEH.

    It shall indeed be swell.

I was also thinking of making a Fred Phelps/Jack Chick slashfic someday...where they both hate what they are, but can't stop loving each other. :-D

Just imagine it...Jack Chick lays Fred Phelps onto his bed.

"But...but...God hates fags," Jack whispers, uncertain and afraid.

Jack smiles at him. "Maybe so...but I love you."

    CLOSE CURTAIN

Enraged Christian---I will not delete this story, nor will I ask forgiveness from anyone. It's clear you missed the point of this work.

    Anon---Capslock OFF, please.

Incidentally, I'm planning a follow-up story that continues with Jesus and Muhammad's relationship. It's funny how you and those who have e-mailed me about this story so far have missed the fact that this story is tasteful. There is explicit sex, yes...hence ADULT Fanfiction, and hence the tags you viewed before reading this story...but the theme is about love and tolerance.

This is sacrilegious garbage that insults our lord and savior Jesus Christ. You should delete this story and pray for forgiveness.

I finally got a review for this!

And shockingly, it's not a death threat! :-D

I'm glad you enjoyed, and are open minded enough to be able to enjoy the story despite not being gay yourself. That's something we need more of in this world, my friend.

The story's origins were me wondering about all the intolerances and fighting that religions have amongst themselves and towards others, and I started wondering: what if humanity had the 'doctrines' of these religions entirely wrong? Over hundreds and hundreds of years, words get distorted, mistranslated, or changed by outright lies. I mean, if Jesus and Muhammad came down to Earth holding hands, how many miracles would the J-man have to do to convince people like James Dobson that it's really him?

Sigh. Life is cruel and it doesn't have to be, if only religions would embrace love and tolerance instead of their ancient, pointless hatred.

    Thanks muchly for the review!
