Wow! I really like your alternate ending! I'm pretty sure it's the only alt ending for LotF I've ever read where someone had the guts to kill off Ralph. I like how the question is posed at the end. Who DOES win? It's really lovely, leaves it open to much interpretation. And the whole idea of the rescue just being a vision since Ralph is going slightly mad is great. Nice work.
