Hey! I just wanted to tell you I think this is a great story! I hope you haven't really stopped writing it. I love how you characterize the different people. I'm sure Mary and Colin will have some (fun-to-read) fights in the future... :D

Really good story! don't stop

This is pretty good. You need a little more setup of the story, but for a first chapter it's pretty nice. Is it meant to be a very short story? Because by the time we get to the end of the first chapter, they're already kissing, so I wondered if it's just going to be a very short story in the end. Also, Mary is 2 years younger than Dic not not three. I suppose there may be some time in there when she is 14 and he's 17, though, so you may get away with that. :) What are the rest of the family doing off in France? Where is Martha? Surely she isn't off to France, too? Mrs. Medlock -- is she is France as well? Where is Dickon living and what's his life like? Tell me more!
