I absolutely commend you for writing a fanfic based on the Gemma Doyle trilogy. I loved the books, and even though I hate to 'spoil' most literary gems like this with fanfiction, the series had so much potential for alternative plotlines. This is definitely a great interpretation of that potential. I especially like how you mentioned the situation with Felicity's father, and in fact, there's room there for some elaboration as to her feelings about it. Beautiful characterizations, really. :)
