Honestly, I can very well understand what you mean. I wasn't too happy with all of Twilight, either (didn't hate it, though) but I definitely admire your will to actually rewrite it. That's gonna be a lot. ;)
I like your choice of words immensely so far. After I read those first few lines, you kinda had me hooked to it. It's rather impressing to read. Please continue!

Great start. I can't wait to have a non-whiney Bella!!! And while you're at it can we have a hot Bella/Jake scene after asshole leaves!!! PLEASE!!! lol.

I also did not like Twilight. So far, this seems an improvement. :)
