An impressive start, both of the investigation and of a romance. Detailed, to the point, sensuous amd somewhat poetic. I get it, he didn't ask her name on a purpose?
As for the murderer's goal it's pretty commonplace thing, that superiority complex or God complex with "purification" of the sinners. Will it be defferent in this case?
I liked what she said about scars :)
