Hello again! Lune here, I wanted to tell everyone that I have finally begun my story!! YAY! Just to let you know that at the end of every chapter that introduces a new character with a new name, I’ll write down the translation of the names for you! I feel that this’ll be a bit fun. =D

Chapter Two:
It was a hot August day in the suburbs of New Jersey. As a matter of fact, it was the twenty fifth day of official drought. One wasn’t even allowed to water their own grass anymore unless your house number matched the odds or evens in the day of the month. As the children play in the baron street and walk to the ice cream stand down the road, a sad, miserable, pathetic high school graduate sulks in her basement room.
Dark purple Christmas lights were the only things lighting up her dark room. Clutter smothered the stained grey carpet such as clothes, books, and plush animals. The bed lay unmade with unknown dark colors for the sheets and blanket, and there lay Adina on it; crying as she thought of the humiliation she was put through earlier in the day on the phone.
------------------
Earlier:
Adina held two Korn concert tickets in one hand and her cell phone in the other as it rang. Then, a husky voice answered the phone
“Hello?”
“H-hey, Kevin. It’s Adina, the girl who sits behind you in math class? Well, you see I heard that you like the band, Korn and I have two tickets to see them. Would you like to come?”
“Korn tickets, with you? Sorry, but you have the body of a girl who just started puberty! It’ll be awkward going to that concert and have people think I’m some pedophile.”
----------------
Adina’s mind kept repeating it over and over like a broken record. All those times that men and women alike made fun of her small chest made her feel like she was going to break in half. Why wouldn’t people go out with her just because she had a small chest? Then she thought, maybe it’s because she just sucked. She had no friends and all she wore was a hoodie, a large boy’s T-shirt under it and some stretch material flares that sagged over her sneakers. Guys always went for the slutty looking girls in her town, but her family was poor. There was no way she could afford new clothes, nor would her father allow her to walk outside the house again.
Her limp body twisted to the other side of her bed as she grabbed a pillow with her sleeve drowning hand to hug it. Adina closed her dark eyes and thought of what the future would bring her. Unmarried, childless, jobless even. This made her cry even more!
“I want to die.” She whimpered, lowly. There was no reason to live anymore in her eyes. No motivation.
“Why?” A voice from the opposite corner of her room whispered.
Adina’s tears came to an immediate stop and froze her limbs. Someone was in her room; either that or she was going crazy.
“Why do you want to die?” The voice which was once a whisper, now noised into a velvety, masculine tone.
Slowly, Adina turned her body to view the intruder. All she seen in the darkness was a tall figure with a really tall hat. Her lips parted as the thought of what kind of nutcase was in her room. She didn’t want to think of this person as a serial killer, but she did anyway and it scared herself. Who wouldn’t think of some scary figure in their room was out to hurt them?
“Who are you?” she asked in a low voice of hesitation as she sat up.
The dark figure seemed to turn its head as it stared at the light switch for the room. “Why,” the velvety voice began and flicked the lights on. ”I am Cullen Kelper, the Hatter.” His grin widened and directed towards the somber young woman.
There, Adina stood at the tall man in awe. This man didn’t seem to be human to her, more like a living, walking doll! A six foot three doll! His face was a slightly narrow with smooth skin that had very little pigment for rose tinged cheeks, eyes that were a crisp sky blue and raven black hair that seemed to fall to the middle of his back. Well, according to the two long locks that fell in front of his body, at least. An oddly shaped top hat was on his head, going in three zigzags and had the color of pinot noir wine. Matching it, was a suit jacket, pants and vest with a lose white shirt with a deep V-collar and ruffles that spilled from his sleeves onto his cream cloves.
It felt as if he came straight out of an Alice in Wonderland book with less kooky looks and more dollfie features.
He stared at Adina with a peculiar expression and pulled out a piece of folded parchment from his right pocket, opened it and seemed to scan its scripts with fast eyes. “You name is Alice, right?”
The Hatter questioned such a thing because this girl looked nothing like what his father and two forefathers mentioned in the stories about the supposed creator of his world. He expected elegant, radiant blue eyes, fair skin with blushing cheeks, ruby lips, and hair of the golden sun, but that’s not what was in front of him. In front of him was a girl with repulsive style and looked very much like a boy. Loose, baggy blue jeans, a black hooded sweater that drowned half of her body, and chocolate brown hair disciplined into a tight bun. If it weren’t for her clear skin complexion with the color of a chai latte, big dark brown eyes, long lashes and long neck, her transvestite makeover would have been complete.
“No, my name’s not Alice.” Adina answered as quickly as possible. She was ecstatic to hear that she wasn’t the person he was looking for. This man was calling himself “The Hatter” and was looking for an Alice. To her, this made this man look even crazier than she thought he was.
The Hatter’s questionable expression smoothed into a disappointed one as his brows hunched and the tinged lips that matched his cheeks pursed together. “Oh, well, I could have seen that you weren’t anyway.”
He looked at the mysterious scripts again. They were predictions of when and where the soul of Alice would be reincarnated. It couldn’t have been wrong, though. Every being that exists has the instinct to sense their own parents through their heart. Even though he wasn’t one of Alice’s first creations, he still felt that this person had the slightest bit of connection to him in power. But, his grandfather strictly said the girl’s name would be Alice. So the two stared at each other for one to react. One with a cautious look, the other one in disappointment. Both of thinking of what to do next.

Name Translations:
Adina:- I’m not telling yet!! ~~~
Cullen Kelper: His name literally means Handsome Hatter! Sexy, right?
I hope you all like my first chapter and want to read the next one I type up. I HOPE I can get the next chapter done by earlier today, but no promises! I still have to study for college tests, take care of my brother and clean up my whole house before I do anything. And then hide my story from my fiancée when he’s around. XD I can’t have him reading my secret story, now can we? (He’s to Christian to live. Lol I heart him, though.)
