“Everything including the present and the future are in the flames of war
All are enveloped in the struggle and become an illusion…
So our loves and the smiles that are fading out
Will surely make the new world…”

Chapter 1: The Band
Eric sat in a club, located in Houston, Texas, looking at the mortals dancing on the dance floor, from his booth and spotted Sookie and Bill. Motioning to them, Eric glanced over to Jessica, who was spending some time with him for a little ‘fine’ tuning. Once Sookie and Bill were standing in front of him, Eric looked back at them and leaned back and motioned them to sit.
“I have another favor to ask of you.” Eric stated in his usual icy tone, “Before the two of you say anything; remember I have taken on teaching Jessica a few extra techniques.”
“What is this request?” Bill stated slowly in slight annoyance.
“I have heard roomers of a mortal who can read others and heal by touch. Along with a few other ‘gifts’, the other vampires need to know if this mortal is a threat to our kind. I need help finding this mortal, and Sookie to read her.” Eric stated never changing his demeanor.
“Do we have to kill anyone?” Sookie asked worriedly.
“Depends on the person’s answer,” Eric stated cryptically.
“Ladies and Gents, please give a warm welcome to the Sisters of the Weird!!!” The owner of the club announced as four women walked onto stage and faced the crowd.
Eric glanced over to the stage and raised a brow and looked back at Sookie and, “Can you read them?”
“They’re all thinking about playing well tonight. One of the girls noticed you and thinks you might by gay.” Sookie stated lightly as she chuckled slightly, “She’s thinking something along the lines of ‘Don’t date a guy who’s prettier than you’.”
“Sage words for someone so young,” Bill looked down, hiding his smile as Eric glared over to the stage before drinking his bottle of True Blood…
Cara took her place at the mic and scanned the crowd and noticed a beautiful man with blond hair and licked her suddenly and started to sing a cover for Apocalyptica’s ‘I don’t care’.
“I try to make it through my life
In my way
There’s you
I try to make to make it these lies
That’s all I do….”
‘He’s probably gay…..’ Cara inwardly sighed in disappointment as she continued to sing hauntingly, ‘Never date a guy that’s prettier than you….’
“Just don’t deny it
Just don’t deny it
And deal with it
Yeah deal with it
You try to break me
You wanna break me bit by bit
That’s just part of it…..”
Looking of the crowd she noticed that the man was staring at her in anger as she raised a brow coolly and knelt seductively as she give the crowd a sinister look.
“If you were dead or still alive,
I don’t care,
I don’t care,
And all the things you left behind,
I don’t care
I don’t care….”
Cara stood up slowly, knowing that she had gotten the attention of over half of the men in the club, including the guy, who she was pretty sure was gay. Smirking slightly, she gently swayed her hips as she sang.
“I try to make you see my side
Always trying to stay in line
But your eyes see right through
That’s all they do
I’m getting buried in this place
I got no room for you’re in my face
Don’t say anything, just go away….”
Sookie looked from Eric to the singer and smiled lightly, choosing not to say anything about Eric’s obvious leering at the singer. That and the lead singer had caught on to Eric’s interest.
“If you were dead or still alive,
I don’t care,
I don’t care,
And all the things you left behind,
I don’t care
I don’t care…..”
A dark shadow lurked in the shadows staring at Cara and the band licking his lips and he left the club to plan his next move. The local band was full of life and strength; they would keep him full for months.
“I’m changing everything,
Cause you won’t be there for me
I’m changing everything,
Cause you won’t be there for me…..”
A shiver went down Cara’s and she turn to her band mates, moving to her sisters Aithne and Dona silently communicating with them as she sang. The three glanced at Erea and looked for the ‘source’ as they continued with the song.
“If you were dead or still alive,
I don’t care,
I don’t care,
And all the things you left behind,
I don’t care
I don’t care
If you were dead or still alive,
I don’t care,
I don’t care,
And all the things you left behind,
I don’t care
I don’t care
At All…”
After that all hell broke loose. A ban of vampires broke through the doors and started attacking the human customers. Bill, Sookie and Eric stood up and prepared for battle. The band jumped from the stage and moved to dodge a vampire that attacked them. The lead singer instantly crouched into to an attacking stance as she pulled out a hunting knife. The other three band members pulled out various weapons and started battling the hoard of vampires with an unnatural ease. The lead singer fended off a vampire in a sort of dance and spun behind the fiend and stabbed it in the back.
“Cara, watch out!” One of the band members called out to the singer.
Spinning around Cara knelt, avoiding a death blow, and came up stabbing the vampire in the chest, “Thanks, Aithne.”
Eric and Bill finished off twenty vampires in a single blur, leaving one vampire left. Looking at the sniveling pathetic excuse for a vampire, Eric growled and kicked it in the face. Cara approached the said vampire, prepared to kill, as she asked, “Why are you here?”
“None of your business bitch…” The vampire spat at Cara and he hissed in distain.
“Really...” Cara raised a perfectly sculpted dark brow as she tightened her grip on her knife and glared at the enemy, ‘Why can’t they leave me alone?’
“Why are ‘they’ coming after you?” Sookie asked looking at Cara in curiosity.
“Please don’t read me again… I try not to invade anyone else’s thoughts. I’d like for the same curtsey to be returned.” Cara growled in annoyance as she glanced to Sookie.
The enemy vampire hissed and lunged at Cara, who ducked, and Aithne cut the vampire’s head off, as he ‘flew’ over Cara’s back. The entire band stood together and faced the trio from Louisiana, sizing them up. Sookie moved forward and noticed that Cara, Aithne and one other girl look identical; with dark red-ish brown hair, pale hazel blue/green/gray eyes and pale tan complexion. Sookie then looked at the remaining band member and noticed a slight similarity to the other three girls.
“Aithne, Donia and I are triplets and Erea is our half sister.” Cara stated lightly and smiled lightly at Sookie’s expression, “I need to be telepath to figure out what you where thinking…”
“Sookie… Sookie Stackhouse. This is my boyfriend Bill Campton and his friend Eric.”
“They are the ones we’ve been seeing in our visions.” Erea looked to Cara, who gave her a look that clearly stated ‘not-another-word’.
“Explain.” Eric glared at the four as he commanded.
“No.” Cara stated coldly as she turned and glared at the thousand-year-old vampire.
Moving in a blur Eric grabbed Cara by the throat and hissed, baring his fangs, “Don’t try me human…”
“Don’t try me vampire….” Cara hissed back, after three snorts, Eric glanced down to her holding a knife at his family jewels.
Cocking his head to the side, Eric set Cara down and stepped back. Bill and Sookie looked between the two with a look of confusion on their faces.
“Police are coming.” Erea stated with a blank stare on her face.
“All right, let’s get out of here.” Cara rounded up the band and their things, before they left she handed Eric a slip of paper, “You want answers come to this address.”
With that the girls quickly cleared out of the club, Bill picked Sookie of bridal style and left as Eric watch the retreating back of Cara, before leaving himself….
