The shattered pieces of the bottle lie like broken promises on the ground.
Her eyes, reflected back a hundred times.
Blood pounding in her ears to the beat of a thousand broken voices, remembered all too clearly in a mind that can no longer be completely clouded by alcohol.
Sam, promising he’d love her forever.
Emily, vowing silently to never betray her.
Little eight year Seth promising his big sister he’d beat up anyone who hurt her.
Her Father, Harry, promising to always be there for her.
Leah gazes at the pieces littered on the carpet and swears to herself no one will hurt her again.
The broken promises glitter like dull stars on the pavement as she turns her back on them, and smiles, shattered glass and broken promises left in her wake. A goddess of chaos and destruction.
