Masquerade

I openned my eyes though my vision was slightly blurry as I tried to read the red numbers on my digital clock. Six twenty four in the morning and someone was calling, I knew who it was and what it would entail. I really wanted to ignore it, but I reached over and grabbed the phone, placing the reciever to my ear.

"Hello"

I heard some mumbled voices and then Bruce's voice came on, clear and booming as usual.

"Time to wake up Jacob, we got ourselves another victim."

I groaned as I arose from my warm bed, the receiver still next to my ear as I yawned.

"Where? and why don't you get someone from forensics, I onot aot a minor in field work"

"Well its near the Masquerade, you know the vamp club. It's in the back. Well we have the forensic team here, but we need all the help we can get."

I nodded,feeling alittle stupid that he wouldn't see the action.

"Yeah I know, ok I'll be there in about thirty minutes."

I held the phone to my ear until I heard the distinct click of a disconnection, you never could tell when Bruce wanted to say something at the last minute. I placed theieveiever back and got out of my warm comfortable bed. I love my job.
