Summary: A gorgeous blonde comes to town and Edward feels like his nose is going to twitch right off and bounce along after the yummy goodness. This story will contain boys love, just because it’s the best. That means there will be boy on boy action. So, if you aren’t down with this kind of thing, then please, move on to another story that better suits your refined tastes. This story will also contain some strong language here and there. There will also be some explicit scenes of violence as well. So, sit back and enjoy the ride. Pay no attention to the bumps. They’re just random people being smashed along the road toward greater things. Oh, damn! I just hit a vampire. Shoot! He was sexy, too.
Chapter Nine
Ah, the night is callin’
And it whispers to me softly, “Come and play”
But I, I am fallin’
And if I let myself go I’m the only one to blame
--Pink
Pale mists of amber-rose were dancing all around him like ghosts under the silver light of the full-moon. Silk the color of glistening onyx was slithering like serpents across his smooth, golden flesh. Ocean-green eyes burned with the brilliance of a thousand blue skies.
He was standing before a tall, elegant mirror that his mind had carved from nightmarish horrors. Within its glossy surface, the beast was gazing out at him. That wild, golden mane of his resembled the majesty of a roaring lion. His beauty was flawless, perfect, and twisted with wicked intentions.
“Let me out, David,” that which nested within him cooed with the voice of flowing water in the deepest of dark places. “Let me come out and greet the one who has hurt us with a big ole howdy-do, ya’ll.”
David shook his head. He wouldn’t allow that to happen. He couldn’t allow that to happen again.
That elegant hand rested on the glass, scraping across it with talons of deadliest steel. It made him think of a metal fork scraping across a glass plate. It caused him to cringe, making his teeth ache.
“He has come for you again, little rose,” the radiant beast chuckled. Those star-like eyes burned with wrathful madness. “He will try and make you his yet again.”
David turned his head to the side, looking away from the face of his own beautiful insanity. It would be so easy to just kill the bastard by slowly peeling away his flesh from his bones. Hell, it would even be fun.
“Mirror, mirror, in the mist,” the voice said. He looked to see his reflection grinning at him. It was with pure, untainted malice. “Do I have the right to be eternally pissed?”
The fist within connected with the glass, cracking it ever so thinly. It made him take a small step back from the crazy he had trapped inside himself.
“He tore our clothes!” The beast snarled, hissing like lightning in the dark storm clouds within. “He tried forcing his flesh on our own!”
Tears filled David’s eyes as the frightening memory assaulted him.
“He took our trust!” The beast shrieked like booming thunder. “He took our love!”
He put his hand to the glass, sealing the thin cracks, making himself within howl with insanity. It was scary. That black silk billowed around that golden frame like perpetual darkness.
“You will let me out,” the beast chuckled with deadly fire in his voice. “I will do him like I did that kitten.”
David shivered. He had slaughtered that poor mountain lion. Well, it shouldn’t have attacked Edward.
“Ah, yes,” the beast smiled, floating among blooming roses in the healed glass. “The vampire…the Cold One.”
Those roses were so beautiful, but their thorns could stab flesh with the viciousness of knives. His ethereal reflection was standing in a shower of crimson petals. They looked as if they were on fire.
“You’re such a fool,” the beast hissed, frowning most terribly at him.
“Why?” He asked himself.
That creamy, smooth flesh lit up like a golden torch.
The beast’s eyes burned with the spooky crazy. “You’ll see…”

David opened his eyes, seeing Edward. The two of them were lying in a field of violet and blue flowers. Edward had his eyes closed and he was sparkling like a diamond under the warm light of the sun. He couldn’t take his eyes off him.
Edward was so still. His chest wasn’t moving up and down with breath. He looked like the world’s most beautiful, glittering corpse.
What was it like to live with no breath? What was it like not having a beating heart? What was it like knowing you will never have to face old age or death?
He turned away, looking at the pretty butterflies. They were all like little jewels in flight with colorful wings.
He wanted Edward. He wanted to feel Edward. He wanted to feel him inside of him. He longed for that hard coldness to cool his burning flames.
His mind wondered back to that note he had found in his locker. Was it really from that bastard? Had he really been in his school, watching him?
He didn’t know, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to let his guard down. That was for damn sure.
A warm wind began to gently blow and he turned back to Edward. Should he tell him? It would only make him worry, and freak out. He didn’t want that to happen.
He reached out with finger, and poked Edward on the tip of his sparkly nose. The shimmering vampire made a face, and nuzzled closer to him.
Well, it if was Johnny, he sure was taking his time. It could have been Newton. Hell, it could have been Alice fucking with him.
Edward smelled like flowers to him. He just didn’t know which kind. It was causing him to feel really warm. He just smelled so yummy.
“Ed,” he whispered, gently tugging on his hair. “Do you love me?”
Startling amber eyes snapped open and they were tinged with molten ruby. His eyes were the greatest things to get lost in. These eyes truly were the color of love.
“Yes,” Edward replied. His voice was very deep. David thought it tasted like chocolate, and it sparkled like dew on pink roses in his mind. His wished he could bottle Edward’s voice and keep them all for himself. He truly was a selfish creature.
“Good,” he smiled, sitting up, looking down at his undead boyfriend. “I’m hungry.”
“What do you want?” Edward asked. “I could have it here in five blinks.”
“What I want is already here,” David sadly smiled. “I just wish it would get naked in less than five blinks.”
Edward sat up, looking at him with those dazzling eyes of his. He wished they made stones for earrings in their exact shade. It was the shade of longing.
“You know why I can never do that,” Edward said, gently cupping his smooth cheek with a large hand.
David nodded. “I’m really happy, Edward.”
“Then what’s wrong?” Edward asked.
“I just feel so far away when I look at you,” he said, trembling a little. He felt so stupid.
Edward cocked his head to the side. “I’m right here, David.”
“But,” David said, feeling the tears in his eyes. He hated himself a little bit. “Where will you be in a hundred years?”
Edward’s eyes widened.
“Will you always bring me roses?” He whispered.
He let Edward pull him close and hold him in his muscular arms. He felt so stupid. The beast was right. This happiness wouldn’t, couldn’t last forever.
“I love you,” Edward cooed. “All you have to do is tell me what you want.”
David gently pulled away from him, and then froze in pure terror.
Johnny was standing right behind Edward, holding an ax. He tried to cry out, but Johnny brought the blade swiftly down with a roar. Edward’s head was split right down the center, into the neck.
He screamed as Edward fell over onto him.

Glowing blue eyes snapped open with an acid-green brilliance. The siren scream that clawed its way from his inner-mind was deathly silent. Something shattered because of the pain and fear he was fighting to control with all his crazed might.
Insane laughter was echoing all throughout his slowly, breaking mind. It was his laughter. It was the laughter of the beast. He was starting to get trapped in dreams of dreams again. Oh, this was bad.
He reached for his cell phone, pushing buttons, holding it to his ear.
“Edward,” he panted, doing his best to hide the fear in his voice. “I…need you.”
There was a sudden click and he put the phone down. He was too frightened to move.
He heard a soft whoosh, and there was a half-naked vampire coming through his window. His hair looked wet against that moon, pale flesh. Had he been bathing? He didn’t even have shoes on.
His lifted up the covers, inviting Edward in. “Hold me?”
The saber-toothed faerie did just that.
David embraced his cold flesh, finding comfort in the strong arms of winter’s prince.
“Am I too cold?” Edward asked in concern.
David shook his head. Why did Edward always ask him that? No, his coldness was just right.
“No,” he told him, loving the feel of him more and more. “Because I’m warming you with my heart.”
Okay, that was damn corny.
Edward smiled. “You are like a heat rock.”
“I had a bad dream,” David suddenly told him. “And you got hurt.”
He felt those snowy, white arms tighten around him with such controlled gentleness.
“Tell me,” Edward said.
So, he did. He just left out the whole him wanting to be a vampire so he could stay with him forever and ever.
“As if,” Edward snorted. “Am I going to have to poke your blond brain with a cutip through your ear?”
David frowned.
“An ax?” Edward asked, shaking his head. He looked so amused. “If it had been Mommy Dearest, I’d be worried.”
David frowned harder.
“Oh,” Edward said, sobering quickly. “Who is Johnny?”
David suddenly bit his bottom lip.
Edward’s eyes lit up like Christmas had come early. He suddenly looked very, very hungry.
“That’s his name,” the gorgeous vampire grinned with deadly teeth. “All I have to do now is kill every guy named Johnny who is over sixteen and under twenty.”
“You won’t find him,” David whispered.
“And why is that?” Edward asked.
“Because,” he said, looking at his broken mirror on the wall. “He can change his shape.”
