(Takes place in the past)

“Kaige!!”
The pure fear in that voice caused the redhead’s blood to surge faster through his veins, trying to give his body enough strength to break away. But it was no use; the man who held him was inhumanly strong, with a grip like steel. Adrenaline sparked by anger and fear was doing nothing for Kaige.
He and his younger brother, Gideon, had merely been walking the streets on their way home with only the moon’s glow to guide them. It was late enough that the candle lit street lamps had been snuffed out, with all families tucked into their beds for the night. Their town was a quiet one, too small to attract any attention from any truly ruthless criminals. Peaceful. Safe. Or so they thought.
But the ongoing event was proving that innocent idea to be so very wrong. Kaige couldn’t see the other attacker, nor his brother, but the night’s quiet was broken by heavy terrified panting. “Kaige! Where are you?”
“Eon!”
“Shush now, little one.” The voice was beautifully melodious, and for a moment the redhead stilled, waiting to hear the other male speak again. Instead a short pained cry sent bolts of cold harsh panic through Kaige, his body again thrashing wildly as the only person that meant anything to him in the world suffered.
Clouds shifted above revealing more of the full moon’s brightness, and casting light onto the scene before him. Eon, lying pale in the arms of a handsome man that looked to be in his late-twenties. His brother was no longer struggling and as Kaige’s eyes focused he could faintly see where the attacker’s mouth was latched onto the pulse point of Eon’s slender neck.
No. It couldn’t be. They didn’t exist. A mere children’s nightmare. One that was sucking the life from his brother. Kaige was too stunned to protest when a gentle but firm push from behind propelled him forward and down onto his knees, barely a foot away from the horrific scene. Another beautiful voice, this one sounding younger in years, spoke lowly next to the redhead’s ear, “Be calm. He shall not suffer as you will, my pet.”
A hand gently petted the top of Kaige’s head as the male continued, “Let the heart within your warm body flutter in time with his, one last time. Memorize the beat. Look upon his last moments in this world, and bid him farewell to the next. For you will not see him again for a long, long time.”
“Kaige. . .” It was barely a whisper, and the last breath that left the young boy’s body. Time slipped away from him as his mind struggled to accept what was happening. Eon . . . was gone. Kaige was unaware of how long he kneeled upon the ground, eyes staring blankly at nothing, numb to the hand still stroking his hair.
It was the soft sound of teeth parting from flesh that eventually brought him back to reality, not missing the pleased sigh that followed as the. . . .thing that had just killed his brother turned to face Kaige and the second nightmare behind him. “You haven’t even had a taste of him yet, Levi? Tsk tsk. Well, go on. We can‘t move on until you’ve eaten.”
The hand on Kaige’s head slid down to caress his neck gently, “No need to rush things, Amos. I have plans for this one.” The redhead felt cold fingers tilt his face up, and he was met with a pair of blood red eyes that studied him. “Look at him now, so well formed and strong. Wouldn’t he turn out beautifully? I was your pet for so long; I think I’d like a companion of my own now.”
“Hmm, not exactly little boy toy material, is he? And don’t forget that newborns are strong; I recall you being quite a handful. Enough so that I foresee you bottoming as much with him, as you did when you were mine.”

Kaige wasn’t really listening as the future of his body and life were casually discussed. The cold hole that had opened up inside of him was feeding on his feelings of loss, and leaving him empty. Which gave the building hatred and rage limitless reign over his emotions.
As if sensing the storm that was about to explode from within, Kaige didn’t have more than a second to begin attacking before he was pushed roughly to the ground and his hips straddled. He felt the same cold touch from before as a hand gripped the right side of his neck.
Looking up with eyes full of hate, Kaige was met with the sight of a stunningly gorgeous male, possibly a few years younger than himself. The youth grinned wickedly, swiveling his hips seductively and grinding down with his ass. Before his momentarily confused mind could form a reasonable thought, the dark haired male on top of Kaige darted in and bit down; hard and deeply.
With his vision beginning to swim and pinpricks of pain expanding from his neck outward, growing in intensity, the redhead barely heard that same sweet voice whisper into his ear, “The pain will pass, and then there will be pleasure. Welcome to my world.”

A/N: Another little bit I wrote sometime this year, I think it was the beginning of April? The start of the ninth chapter, I have a little more written but I don’t feel it’s good enough. So I spilt it off, and I guess it’s filler-like. Haven’t found the time or motivation to get further. But I’ll keep this story in mind, because I still love it.
