“I don’t know about you but I didn’t sign up to get butchered by some madman. My cousin told me what happened to the guys in New Orleans. Half of them just died the other half were in pieces. Hang around here if you want to but I’m getting the hell out of Dodge.” Pang told Danny Li as he put the Suburban in gear and took off throwing gravel into the air.
“A wise decision. Now continue to be wise and head east.” A voice told him. “And pay no attention to that dishwasher in the back.”

“Wait you mean this Shadow dude had you wipe all human life off the face of that planet?” Remo asked shaken.
“Yes. You have seen how easily I kill and how difficult it is to stop me. Imagine 5,000 others just like me systematically sweeping a planet and killing all we came across. We slaughtered new born babes and the infirm while they lay helpless. We destroyed entire armies never stopping, never resting unless we experienced protoblood failure.
Even that would not stop us. His shadows personal forces were there to make sure that we were immediately resupplied. In less than a week all human life was destroyed. The bodies left to rot where they fell, left as a message to others who would choose to join the reformed planets.
The same urge is driving me now. 790 provided me with a list of associates. Until they are all dead, I am driven by the urge, no the need to seek out and kill them.”
“Well one thing is for sure, we can’t just leave a trail of bodies lying around. Kai would be the undisputed star of America’s Most Wanted.” Remo noted.
“Yes, which is why you get garbage detail, my son. You are very good at it!” Chuin said. “How many must you kill?”
‘There is a list of 150 associate names, however only 67 of them are coupled with a visual identification. Killing the 67 will ‘satisfy’ me.” Kai said. “I can confirm my target before killing him to avoid the loss of innocent life.”
“Smitty is going to have a heart attack.” Remo sighed.
“Yes Emperor Smith will indeed have an attack of the heart.” Chuin said with a chuckle. “When he gets our bill!”

Harold Smith snatched up the phone on the first ring. He knew exactly who was calling it was the special line for Remo.
“What is going on? Did you get the young lady?” Smith asked.
“Yeah she’s safe, but you might want to make sure that Freya catches the mass murderer case.” Remo told him.
“What mass murderer case?” Smith asked with confusion.
“The one that’s all over the Tucson news right now.” Remo said and hung up the phone.
Smith logged on to the internet to see that Yahoo news was carrying it. Who ever had posted the link must have thought that they were being clever with the headline “Tong Fight in Tucson!”
Harold Smith opened his desk drawer, pulled out a bottle of Tums and chewed two. He clicked the link to the video of the standard bleached blond ‘reporter on the scene’.
“We are live in Tucson where earlier today police were greeted with a scene to rival the grisliest of Hollywood films. Inside this suburban home, the bodies of five Asian men were discovered. A source with the Tucson police department has confirmed that all of the victims died of massive blood loss.
Police are now searching for the owner of the home, Dr Jim Beam…”
Smith closed the browser window and swallowed two more Tums.

Danny Li was not a superstitious man but recent events were changing that. There was Pang’s insistence yesterday morning that he had a ‘bad’ feeling. And things had gone downhill from there.
First the woman managed to somehow escape while that religious nut was at the front door. Then Pang decided to desert. Danny had driven all the way to Scottsdale to call his uncle David Chang and no answer. Then the kicker, getting back to Tucson and finding that bloodbath at the hacienda.
Danny Li was many things but not stupid. Whoever this mystery client of his uncle’s was; that client had stepped on some powerful toes. The question was whose toes? The butcher jobs in New Orleans and now Arizona suggested it was someone with a large organization, possibly a rival triad.
Danny was now in his car heading north to Seattle, his home base. Once there he would put out some feelers. He was listening to the radio with half an ear so he almost missed it.
“The FBI has confirmed that the body of David Chang was fished out of a Louisiana bayou several days ago. David Chang had warrants for his arrest issued by several nations and Interpol. Chang’s death comes on the heels of the New Orleans Warehouse Massacre. Investigators have confirmed that Chang had ties to the victims in New Orleans.
Investigators in Tucson, AZ are also exploring possible ties between Chang’s death and the discovery of the bodies of several Asian men at a residence outside of Tuscon yesterday.
KBLAB radio will make regular updates as more information becomes available…”

Danny was glad to be back in Seattle. At least now he felt safe. His men were in place and would make sure no one got through to him. The rumors he’d been getting back all morning indicated that the unofficial ‘truce’ among the major crime syndicates was over. The triads were out of time.
At least he now knew where the attack was coming from, Russia. The triads had been very careful in building their interests in the west, never revealing their true numbers. They had even gone as far as building ‘alliances’ with both the Russians and the Italians.
The plan was simple, by the time anyone had figured out what was going on the triads would have been powerful enough to destroy both. Instead the Russians were now attacking them. This would have to be dealt with, it was time to use another alliance. All he had to do was convince the Italians that they were next on the hit list.
