She awoke to a soft kiss, right before James climbed out of the bed to start the ship's activities for the day. While he walked into the little restroom, Wendy took the time to open up the curtains to the morning sunlight, and was graced with yet another perfect view of the beach. As she was gazing out across the serene waters, she suddenly became aware of the tiny fairy that appeared.
“Tink, what are you doing here?” Wendy whispered. Tinkerbelle appeared anxious, and looked around the room frantically. Wendy pointed to the closed washroom door. She then pointed to the cabin door and made a motion of a key turning. “Where’s Peter? Can you let me out?” Wendy asked excitedly. She motioned again to the direction of the door, and pleaded with the little fairy to be let out. A noise behind her startled Wendy to look away from the window, and Tinkerbelle zipped off towards the direction of the deck. The Pirate Captain reentered the cabin just as the first surprised shouts interrupted the morning quiet. Without so much as a word to Wendy, he ran out the door to be faced with total chaos. A good portion of the crew had been locked in the brig while eating their breakfast, and were attempting to break down the door. Their angry yells were added to the already deafening sound of battle. The remaining pirates were either engaged in swordfights with numerous lost boys, or had already been bound up in some way by others. A cock's crow sounded proudly above the sound of slashing swords, as Peter dove down from his perch on the crow’s nest. "Time to wake up Hook, I've been waiting!" James turned about at the singsong voice of his boy enemy, growled and drew his sword as Peter dodged around him, knife in hand. The two combatants circled eachother on the deck. Wendy, still only half clothed, looked around desperately for some weapon to hold onto and saw the small jeweled dagger that Hook normally kept in his boot sitting on the floor by the bed. She grabbed it, and then approached the deck, trying to figure out where she could make her escape unnoticed. Dodging the worst of it, Wendy moved towards the side of the ship, making her way towards the rear. A lost boy leapt into her path as she crept along the railing. "Wendy! We have come here to rescue you! Follow me!" The boy chirped. Just as he turned to lead her, a look of surprise and pain marred his youthful face. Wendy looked down to see a blood spot form quickly on his tattered shirt. As the sword pierced through the young boys chest, Wendy screamed aloud. When the boy fell, she was suddenly facing Hook and his bloody blade. "Where do you think you are going?" He growled at her, eyes flashing and sword drawn. With lightning-fast reflexes, she whipped out the jeweled knife and threw it at him with all her force. It embedded in his shoulder, and knocked him back a step. As Wendy's eyes darted from the wound that she had inflicted to his face, she was startled to see the captain's face become completely blank. His dark eyes glazed over, and he wore the expression of one just dealt a mortal wound. His eyes dropped to the ground as he yanked out the knife, and let it fall to the deck. As it clattered to the ground, colored red with his blood, he took several staggering steps back towards his cabin before turning and leaving the scene behind. Before she could react, Wendy felt a tugging at her sleeve, and Peter grabbed her. "Come on, let’s go, now!" He said excitedly, in a hurry to return to their home with Wendy once again. Wendy allowed herself to be led off the ship, but moved in a numb silence. She had wounded Captain James Hook, and he had just let her walk away. With one small act, he had been defeated at her hands. She knew that the wound was not likely a lethal one, but the look in his eyes! The pain there had come from somewhere much deeper within, and it called to something inside of her. Pity? Fear? Or was it something more? She had finally attained the freedom that she had long desired, but now all that she wanted was to go to him. Chastising herself, she shook her head and mutely followed Peter, taking his hand and leaving the Jolly Roger and her wounded Captain behind. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
