“I.” Lucy’s heart was already beating quickly. “I’m sorry.” She whispered in tears. “It is time to die, Tumnus.”
She lunged forward. A dagger was withdrawn from it’s sheath. Tumnus’s eyes went wide and he screamed.
“No! Lucy! I love you!”
His eyes clenched shut. His only thoughts were of his Lucy as this Lucy was striking. He blinked though when he felt her body slump forward onto him. The spell that held him was released.
“Lucy?”
Tumnus heard shallow breathing. He finally opened his eyes and saw her laying half way on top of him with the dagger pierced into her chest. She was crying and hold holding onto it. Tumnus stared in shock. She killed her self? Why?
“Lucy?”
“Tumnus.” Her voice was rasped. He could hear the pain in it. “Please forgive me for the act I was about to commit.”
“What did you do?” He was rolling her off him gently and holding her into his arms. “No. You didn’t have to do this!”
Tumnus was crying for her. She smiled and nodded at him. Her hand rose weakly to touch his cheek. He leaned down into it.
“Yes I did. If I didn’t than you would be killed. You have to h..hurry.” She gasped for breath. “The red sunrise is soon. They have ta.,” She grunted in pain. “T..They took Lucy and Aslan to the black pits. T..they will be at the tower in just days to sacrifice them for the legend. The others want to take.” She was shaking.
“Shh. Easy.” Tumnus was looking around. He was desperate for help. “You won’t die here. I can’t let you.”
“Tumnus please!” She gasped. “I don’t have much time. You don’t have much time. Go to the tower. Save your Lucy and Aslan. Promise to always l..Love her as strong as I felt you love me. Even if it was only for that moment when you hugged me.”
“I can’t just..” Tumnus looked up. “Kale.”
Kale nodded and stepped to them. The shade Lucy closed her eyes. She was trying to keep from crying.
“Go on Tumnus. I will stay with her.” Kale nodded. “I will try and save her.”
“You heard everything?” Tumnus set her down gently as he stood. “That she..could have killed me. She didn’t.”
“I know. I saw just as she was leaping.” Kale got him self to the ground, which was not an easy feat for a centaur. “Go Tumnus.”
“Thank you.” Tumnus backed away. “Please try and live.”
“Tumnus.” She was crying. She couldn’t stop the tears. “Please hurry , before the red sunrise approaches.”
Tumnus took off in a swift run. The red sunrise was only a few days away and he was still so far away from the tower. The shade Lucy grunted in pain as she looked up at Kale. He picked her up into his arms gently to hold her.
“Please...k..kill me. End my pain.” She whispered.
“No. I can’t. You may not be the Queen Lucy but you have learned her spirit and heart.” Kale smiled and held her close in his arms. “I won’t kill you.”
“Please. I am going to die anyways.” She was panting hard. “End this.”
He closed his eyes and she felt a warmth surround her. Gasping, she closed her eyes now and let the warmth take her.

Tumnus raced through the trees. As he neared closer and closer, time seemed to speed up on him. It was already well past noon before he stopped. It was almost tot he evening in fact.
“Lucy.” Tumnus knelt by a small stream. “Please be alright..” He shook his head. “I should have never left you.”
Tumnus was beating him self up over what happened still. Someone died because they changed in the end. Their heart opened and let the magic of Love inside. It let Narnia truly hold it.
“How could I have let that happen?”
He stood. His hand was wet with water and he drank. Tumnus was feeling the weight of a fading Narnia on his shoulders. He was alone. There was no Lucy beside him to say ‘we can do this.’ There was not an Aslan there to say ‘We must push forward.”
“Lucy.”
He looked in the direction of the tower. His eyes, like so many times before, were heavy with the burden of tears.
“When a daughter of Eve and a son of Narnia bare a burden of love, It is their love and a truly great sacrifice that will set Narnia free from darkness.”
Tumnus started off again. He made him self push forward for Lucy, and for the other Lucy. He made him self believe for all of Narnia. He wouldn’t make the shade’s sacrifice in vain. She killed her self and told him what was going to happen. She did it despite the unknown dangers to her self that this act could cause.
“Why?” Tumnus looked around at the withering trees. What? Trees didn’t die in Narnia. “Why is this happening!?”
It made the faun run even quicker. For days? He didn’t know. He just ran. The night didn’t touch him. His strength was renewed each time he thought about Lucy and Aslan and of the sacrifices already made.
He had to make it by the next sun rise. This is what he told him self. This was his hope that pushed him onwards through night and day.

“Peter! Hurry and bring them along.” Nalsa paced before a open mist way. “The sunrise comes soon and we must prepare.”
“What is there to prepare father?” Peter shoved Aslan forward. “And he is not light. Why can’t we kill him here?”
Aslan simply laid there in a state of semi consciousness. He brought this on him self in orders to preserve energy. The new ropes that bound him were the same material as the nets. Nalsa snarled at Peter in response. He ws becoming short tempered with these children.
“Because I said. We will do this my way!” Nalsa yelled.
“Father.” Edmund carried the sleeping body of the real Lucy. “What about her?”
“We bring her as well.” Nalsa huffed. “Didn’t any of you listen when I told you what we had to do?”
“I did.” Susan stepped in. “I have the dagger you asked for. It took a bit to find it but I did.”
“Perfect.” Nalsa smirked in his lion like way. “The dagger of the white witch. The very same dagger that pierced your heart before, Aslan, Will pierce it again. “ He snarled. “And it will Pierce into the belly of Narnia’s hope. She and that abomination inside her will perish.”
Aslan looked away. He couldn’t help but feel hopeless, tied in these ropes. Susan walked over and smiled. Peter and Edmund rolled their eyes.
“Poor little kitty. Guess you can’t be a personal servant to me after all.” Susan laughed.
“He is crying father.” Peter laughed loudly. “He is actually crying!”
“Don’t be sad, brother. Your sacrifice will bring the crowns down and a rightful ruler will sit on Narnia’s throne once more. Your death will bring about a new age in Narnia!” Nalsa turned. “ Her first. Place her on the alter before the great winged statue.”
“Yes father.” Edmund moved away into the mist as he spoke.
“Susan,” Nalsa looked at her next. “Take the dagger and place it in the stone above. When the red sunlight hits the stone it will release the dagger.”
“Yes father.” Susan was next through the mist way.
“Peter,” Nalsa nodded to him. “Bring him.”
Nalsa jumped through the mist, leaving Peter there with Aslan. Peter shook his head in disgust. He was being treated like the black sheep of the family! It was not his fault that blasted faun got in the way! He helped to bring the light Lucy here! That should have counted for something.
“You stupid lion.” Peter kicked into the rib cage. “If it weren’t for you,” He glared. “I would have killed her by now. I wouldn’t be treated as I am now.”
There was only silence from Aslan. He didn’t move nor flinch at the kick. This irritated Peter and he kicked again.
“Wake up! You stupid Lion! You are going to be killed and you sit here and do nothing! Act out! Do something!”
He was trying to provoke him to action. Peter would show his father he was not a failure. Aslan didn’t wake though. He used his abilities to conserve him self.
“You are a fool.” Peter scolded him. “Do you really think that this is going to help you!”
Again there was nothing. Peter pulled his sword from it’s sheath and sliced through the black ropes. His anger was getting the better of him.
“I said wake up!” Peter commanded him. “Now you stupid lion!”
The body of aslan didn’t move. Blackened roped faded away to nothing around him. Peter was furious. The punishment that his father would reap upon him did not matter anymore. Nothing mattered but his own vengeance.
“If you will not wake then I will kill you where you lay.” Peter walked around the ever still body. “Do you hear me!”
There was nothing. Peter glanced at the mist gate way and then Aslan. He would show them that he was not afraid of their father. He would show them all that he was the one who deserved to be high king.
“Have it your way.” Peter brought his sword up. The metal of the blade gleamed right down to the tip of the sword. “Prepare to die, Mighty Aslan!”
Peter stabbed the blade down. The shing of metal on floor made him blink. What? Where was the body!?
“You’re the fool.” Aslan stepped forward in a glowing of light. “You let your anger rule you and that is your biggest mistake.”
“Aslan!” Peter gawked. “You can’t be...H..how!?”
“Do you not understand anything boy?” Aslan steadied him self. “The power of Narnia is held in ones heart. If you believe in Narnia than she will help you. You may not ever understand this. Your heart is a black withered thing without feeling or care for those around you. You have let my brothers corruption spread into you like a plague.”
“I am strong! I can defeat you.” Peter turned, his sword was readied. “I am not a failure.”
“You are a weak failure, Peter. You became weak the moment you gave up on your self.” Aslan lowered him self on his front paws. “If you insist this fight, so be it!”
Aslan had enough. He was pushed and pushed and pushed some more. The pride of a great cat could only handle so much before reacting back. He leapt and jumped into a quick run. The loud roar shook the pits around them.
“No!” Peter jumped and tried to avoid the charge. “I won’t let you!”
“Too Late!” A great paw smashed into the blade and sent it flying. “You lost the moment you turned against Narnia.”
Aslan growled. The shocked Peter stumbled away. He was panting and fear caressed his every feature like a nightmare.
“This is the end Shade.”Aslan spoke forcefully.
He jumped at Peter. Aslan’s claws were out stretched and he was flying right towards the fleeing coward. This Peter was truly a son of blackness for only the dark cowered away from the light.
“Where is Peter, father?” Susan jumped down from the stone.
“He is probably trying to kill the lion.” Edmund smirked. He was laying Lucy on the alter. “He wants to prove he is not a screw up.”
“Shh.” Nalsa watched the misted gate way. “Be ready, both of you.”
“Father?” Susan blinked.
“What?” Edmund rose a brow.
“Peter no longer lives. I can feel it inside.” Nalsa glanced at them before looking back to the mist. “And Aslan is free.”
The body of the golden furred lion stepped through the mist, just as that was said. Aslan never looked so grand or ready to fight. The blood stains on his claws were evident.
“It is time to end this, brother.” Aslan growled. “It is time to bring Narnia to peace again and bring your soul to rest.”
“Kittens first.” Nalsa roared
Both Edmund and Susan backed away against the wall. The two lions leapt at one another in a clash of brothers. Their roars echoed through out the walls of the tower. It made the stones rumble and pieces pf them fall to the floor.
“Father!” Susan gasped.
“Susan look!” Edmund pointed.
The doors of the tower burst open just as the rays of the red sun rise were starting to come. The figure was hazy at first that stepped in. The red behind him made this mystery person look menacing.
“You will unhand my wife!” He pointed a sword, which he had brought with him from camp, at the two. “Now!”
“It is.” Susan looked in shock. “You can’t be alive!”
“I am alive and now you both will suffer for taking her!” It was Tumnus! He stepped from t he red rays of light looking heroic as ever. “You cowards!”
Susan and Edmund were running away. This had all gotten out of hand. Peter was dead and probably Lucy, since Tumnus was alive. They were cowards, who feared the light, just like Peter.
