The Last Battle: War of the Gods
Pushed up the River

His arms were sore, but he wished another part of his body was sore instead. However, he and Shazarraah hadn't had the strength to go at it like they had wanted to.
"You up?" Edmund asked.
"Mmmmm, my arms feel like they'll just fall off if I swing my sword again," Shazarraah complained.
"I won, right?"
"What? No way! I had just as many as you did."
"Mine fell the hardest!"
"Yeah, well, mine were the deadest!"
"'Deadest' isn't a word," Edmund fired back. Before they could continue their spat, their stomachs gave a collective growl.
"Uh," Edmund blushed.
"Food, then we settle this?" she asked.
"Yeah," he replied.
888
He felt much better about things now. Whether it was from that attack he had launched against Rishda, the fact that the archers were well armed again, or the fact that the rest of the morale of the army was up he just knew that he felt much better about the war.
"when do we start the charge?" the head dwarf asked.
"We shall go after them after we have our meal. They are not in the best shape and won't expect us to attack them so soon. We'll push them up the river and back into Tashbaan and end for good," Peter proclaimed and the dwarf grinned viciously.
"Damn, I guess I better find myself a new pair of arms if I'm going to kill more Calormenes," Shazarraah said.
888
Rishda was in a bad mood. He couldn't understand how the tide of battle had turned so badly in such a short amount of time. He wouldn't be deterred though. He would push them back to that cursed hill and destroy them.
"The Narnian barbarians are charging!" a scout shouted.
"What?! Those asses are on the move? To arms!" Rishda shouted.
888
Rishda knew that he might ought to try something else. He knew that Shazarraah was the last child of the previous Tisroc. If he were to kill her, he would have no challenges to his power, nor could the Narnian barbarian king marry her and claim Calormen for Narnia. Running past Peter, Rishda made a bee-line for Shazarraah and swung his sword.
"Die bitch!" Rishda shouted, but Shazarraah blocked the strike, but barely.
"So, you want a piece of me do you? I'll give you all you can handle!" Shazarraah shouted. Peter tried to jump in, but dozens upon dozens of Calormene soldiers blocked his path. Edmund was torn between helping his brother and helping Shazarraah. Seeing that he couldn't get to his Tarkheena lover so easily, he plunged into the bedlam his brother was apart of.
888
'You traitorous whore, why have you turned from me!?" the voice of Tash echoed within her mind.
'Go away! I don't bow or serve you!' Shazarraah retorted.
"what's the matter? Laying with a Narnian dog made you soft?" Rishda taunted.
"I'll show you soft!" she shouted and continued her fight.
888
"Make each shot count! If you can't hit your target, wait for an opening and then fire!" Susan called out her instructions. The Calormene archers fired and the Narnian archers responded quickly.
888
"I guess this could be worse!" Eustace shouted.
"How's that?" Caspian asked.
"Wars in my world are fought with guns and those can kill hundreds!" he replied.
"Goodness, I wouldn't want to be in the middle of one of your world's battles," Caspian said and dispatched another Calormene soldier.
"An arrow can't pierce through a tank," Eustace explained and knocked out another soldier.
"A tank?" Caspian asked.
"I'll explain it to you when we aren't having to fight for our lives!" Eustace shouted and the two continued to fight.
888
"Out of my way!" Edmund shouted, his rage and need to protect Shazarraah from Rishda's cursed blade fueling his strength.
Peter, who was fighting with his other sword, was trying even harder than Edmund was to reach Shazarraah. However, the Calormenes weren't giving them any sort of an opening. Then, Eustace and Caspian came to help the brothers out.
I'll get Rishda's attention!" Peter shouted and drew out his new sword and charged, making a mad dash for Rishda.
888
She was breathing hard. Her body and mind were both exhausted from the assault that was being forced upon her. Rishda's strength seemed to be greater with that cursed blade of Tash's he held, and the vile voice of Tash seemed to be haunting her, a thing that was getting to her.
"Die!" Rishda shouted, but the blade met Peter's blade.
"Mind if I cut in?" Peter asked with a grin.
"Narnian dog!" Rishda shouted. Shazarraah fell to one knee, trying to recover her strength.
888
Look out! Here come the fire arrows!" Susan shouted. With that warning, the Calormenes fired off their blazing projectiles. In response, the Narnians lit their arrows and sent them flying. However, the Narnians were more accurate and did more damage to the Calormene army than the arrows that the Calormenes were shooting at the Narnians.
This waste of arrows hurt the Calormenes the longer they fought on. The archers ran out of arrows and the swordsmen on the Calormene side had no protection from their archers.
"Normal arrows, scatter their numbers!" Susan called out.
888
"Damn you! Remember this, Narnian dog, I shall kill that bitch you have..." he began his rant, but a cry to his left caught his attention. Azaroth had become sloppy and let her anger blind her again. This time though, she took a harsh magical blow from Jadis. Zardeenah, realizing that her fellow might die if she didn't get her off the battle field, retreated with her fellow.
"Retreat! Fall back again!" Rishda shouted and the Calormenes fell back several miles from the Narnian army.
"You alright?" Edmund asked as he helped Shazarraah to her feet.
"Yeah," she breathed out heavily, "but I don't think we'll be able to settle things for..." she continued but passed out against him.
"That's right," Edmund whispered, "rest." He smiled down at her. He was proud that she was able to stand up against that ass for so long.
"Azaroth is injured, but I'm not sure if she'll survive or not," Jadis reported.
"We've hurt them badly this day, and we shall continue to drive them until they are within the walls of Tashbaan!" Peter shouted and the rest of the Narnian cheered that sentiment.
