AN: So no one gets confused, she is in modern time, but as soon as one steps into the opera house it’s like they are taken to the past only a bit after the fire.
She stepped inside a dark hallway; she stood still waiting for her eyes to adjust to the darkness. Finally she was able to see, she felt her hand along the cold wet walls. She could swear she heard music. She ventured farther down the hall, screeching as she almost stepped on a rat.
He had her an echo of a noise coming from the beginning of this maze to his lair. He wondered if it was her, the one he watched enter his opera house.
She finally made it to a cave and at the end she saw a beautiful black horse. She quietly went up to it and petting it’s mane. “There has to be someone here.” She thought to herself. She looked at the horse and in a soft whisper asked it, “Who do you belong to?” As she had suspected the horse said nothing and just looked at her. She kissed it and went on with her journey.
He could sense her presence coming closer. He just stayed at his organ, sitting very still.
She lit up a cigarette, and took a long hard drag. She knew someone, or something had to be down here. While she wanted to find out why they say it was haunted, a part of her told her to turn back around. She sat on the cold stone floor and smoked the cigarette in her fingers. She turned her head to look from where she came, and then turned to look at where she had to go. She finished the cigarette and stomped it out. Standing up she turned to go back, till she heard the beautiful music once more.
He played the same song he had used to bring Christine to him. It seemed to hypnotize the lady he wanted, unfortunately his hold on Christine got broken before she could truly be his.
She turned to her head, and looked ahead of where she had yet to venture. With one swift movement she was headed into the direction of the music. The music made her feet carry her faster through the cave, suddenly she stopped and froze. Before her was a body of water. She was too afraid to try to walk for not knowing how deep it was. She looked over to find a small boat. She climbed into it very carefully, afraid that if one wrong move were made, she would be found under water. She was terrified of water and boats; she couldn’t get herself to move. She lay on the floor hugging herself tight while quietly sobbing.
He heard her quiet sobs, she was close. Why was she crying? He shook his head and stood up from the bench. He got into the boat he usually used and went to find her. He found the boat left for her, but she was nowhere to be found. He went over to it afraid though that maybe perhaps she had drowned. He looked into the boat and seen her lying in the floor. She was asleep, but still hugging herself. He sighed and picked her up, putting her in his boat.
He steered it back to his lair, where he gently picked her up again and laid her in the swan bed that Christine was laid in. He silently watched her for an hour, her pale skin was flawless. He went over and rubbed a finger along her jawline then down her neck, to her collarbones. He loved they way they showed through her flesh. She stirred; he drew his hand back and went back to his music.
She slowly opened her eyes and looked around. “The last thing I remember was I was in a boat.” She thought to herself. She sat up and looked around, she was definitely not in a boat, was she dreaming? She stood up and straightened her clothes up and walked out. Her eyes lit up when she seen all the candles, the room was lit up by them. She had always loved having candles light up a darkened room. She let her eyes wander and she seen the organ, no one was sitting there. She stared at it puzzled, “Maybe this place isn’t haunted after all. I don’t see anything.” She thought to herself.
She decided it was best she leave now, she seen what she came to see and nothing was here. She walked past all the candles and to the edge where the water was. She froze, she didn’t know how she crossed it the first time, and she doubt she would be able to do it again. Suddenly she felt another presence, it was behind her. She stood froze, she couldn’t move. She heard silent footsteps coming closer and closer, soon she knew who ever it was they were right behind her.
