Chapter One
Zeboim glared at her titan of a father with vibrant lightning striking from the sharp corners of her dazzling storm-black eyes. He was in the form of a giant human male with large golden horns spiraling from a mane of wild red hair.
“I want a child!” She thundered, stomping her right foot in rage, shaking the earth. “I want a little godling! I want a child that will never grow up or die!”
The muscular God of Vengeance looked at her with molten crimson eyes belonging to the mightiest of all bulls. He snorted and fire flared from his nostrils.
“Well?” She snapped like a scorching hot bolt from the blue yonder. “Can I?”
“Why?” He finally asked, speaking in a very deep voice.
The leader of the Dark Gods was wrapped tighter than razor-wire around her little finger.
She blinked and her eyes were the color of a gentle sea in the afternoon sun. She smiled, cocking her head to the side in a dreamy daze. She had had a child once upon a time, and he had been her pride and joy. He had been so handsome and strong. He had been Mama’s little warrior. She fondly remembered washing the blood of her enemies from his battle-soaked hair for the first time.
Her eyes suddenly became like winter’s deadly chill. Her baby had been mortal. She had lost him to that Bitch Queen of Darkness. Oh, she was glad that five-headed slut was dead.
She looked at her father, smiling ever so evilly.
“How many vessels do you have upon the open sea, Daddy?”
Sargonnas’ ruby red eyes narrowed into magma-hot slits.
“I count lots,” the goddess said, stirring up a mighty little breeze, making her luminous hair billow like the gathering storm.
“I don’t care what you do,” the deity seethed under his divine breath. “Good luck finding a god man enough to enter your salty cavern.”
He was gone in a blinding flash of godly speed. Her father had been so fast she hadn’t been able to follow him. He was very quick on his golden hooves. That was how he had managed to outlive old Dragon Snout. What he lacked in cunning, he made up for in a quick getaway.
She spun around in a boom of thunder, dismissing daddy ever so easily and stood upon the face of her mighty power. She had obtained her daddy’s permission easily enough. Now all she had to do was speak to Bookworm and then war with herself over which god was intelligent and handsome enough to give her seed.
Her face fell like a harsh rain that burned through human flesh. The list wasn’t very big. She felt like gagging on seaweed. Perhaps a mighty dragon or a powerful demon lord would suffice. Oh, perhaps a unicorn. They had such nice, shiny horns. There was always the elven race to choose from.
No! She had to have a god. Nothing else would suffice.
She rolled her eyes, vanishing from the little world in a spray of sea.
