Looks like I got bored enough to make another update to this. Meh, onward I guess.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The world faded into black and gray, the leviathan form of Takhisis metamorphosing into a trailing dark purple could. Writhing snakes formed of unholy light flickered in the sudden gloom that descended over his eyes. Time seemed to freeze and come to a complete standstill as he looked about in amazement.
Trailing his eyes down to his own body he gaped in open astonishment at his body, which was only a faint outline against the shimmering blue, white, and black threads that twitched erratically from the core of his own soul.
He vaguely wondered why there were different colours present in his own aura. But against the backdrop of urgency that his thoughts had assumed, he turned his focus outwards. After all, time had not stopped, only his perception of it.
Looking up again he nearly leapt back in surprise as the cruel, serrated teeth of the dark queen began closing around him.
And so Raistlin reached up and grasped one of the thick cords that emanated from Tiamet and pulled.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahh! The glorious feeling of triumph burned through her veins as the five headed dragon closed her jaws around the hourglass mage. Takhisis couldn't help but feel smugly vindicated, after all, this arrogant mortal had dared to presume to be her downfall. But she was supreme, she reigned, she conquered.
Her thoughts continued to run in this course, or at least until her jaw exploded in pain.
Whipping her head back in surprise and a small bit of fear she brought her smoldering gaze to bear on Raistlin. A sick thrill flipped through her stomach as she watched steam rise from his wounds. Wounds that were rapidly sealing shut. The hourglasses in his eyes faded away to become golden slits, and his whole body gave off a blue of perversely holy light.
A look of calm acceptance and determination came over his features as he streched out his hand, the tips of his fingers glowing white hot.
Then he stepped towards her.
And Takhisis wondered why she was suddenly, forebodingly, terrified.
----------------------------------------------------------
Raistlin had no expectation of the pity that surged through him when he witnessed the purple cloud that was Takhisis lose part of it's luminance. Shrinking slightly in size as the cord he held in his hand disappeared.
As he grew more accustomed to his second sight he began to see the features of the world again, even down to the profoundly terrified look on the Dark Queen's face.
He reached out and pulled on two more cords and watched as they disintegrated. The resultant cry of pain and fear reverbrated in his skull.
But what must be done will be done.
And so he reached out time and again, obliterating the strands from existence, dimming the light of her godhood, stripping away her power. Until she was reduced to a sobbing, powerless shell of her former self. With none of her former potency for malice.
He couldn't help but feel profound empathy for her shivering, now human form. Nor could he stop the thought that flickered though his mind.
'That was me once upon a time.'
-------------------------------------------------
Takhisis gave out a broken moan as she crumbled to the ground, her cloak of power tattered and gone. She gasped for air, overwhelmed by the feeling she had never before had. Powerlessness.
Her furious and despairing eyes flickered open, staring into the face of Raistlin as he apathetically looked down at her.
Then his thin hands reached out and descended upon her, cupping her face and forcing her to stare into his eyes.
"It is done." he said, his voice carried the currents of power.
And she was crushed by the feeling of being helpless, of knowing her fate was entirely in another's hands. Her enemy's hands. So her cracked lips opened and her shuddering voice filled the empty silence.
"Mercy."

It was easier to write once I actually got more into the story near the end.
