Alice was walking by herself in the woods. It had been days since the big mental revelation and she couldn’t shake the feelings that she was incomplete and she knew that Jasper was starting to notice something was up. He had tried to get intimate with her the night before and she had nearly thrown him through a wall to get him to leave her alone. Now, he was giving her dirty looks and muttering under his breath Edward had told her to find Leah if she could and to talk to her about the problem and that he would take care of Jasper for the night.
“For such a tiny little thing” Said a female voice behind a tree “You can walk pretty loudly, you know?”
“Leah” Alice said “How’d you know I was coming through here...other than my heavy feet?”
“Because I was on my way to talk to you” Answered the tall, black haired beauty “I’ve imprinted. I imagine you’ve already worked that much out for yourself”
“I have” Alice answered “I’m…confused”
“You and me both” Leah walked over to her, feeling that strange rightness that was going through her body at being close to the vampire “What has your family said?”
“Only Edward and Bella know” Alice informed “They both are just as confused as I am...I’m sorry Leah but I’m not...I mean I’m…straight”
“I am too” Leah said angrily “How do you think I feel?”
“What do you mean?” Alice asked “You knew that you’d imprint at some point just not to whom”
“I was told that I would never imprint” Leah said angrily “I was told…” She sobbed aloud and Alice gently put her hand on the other girls shoulder “I was told that the change would only happen in boys…do you know what I’m getting at?”
“You were supposed to be a male?” Alice whispered.
“I...was born…a…hermaphrodite” Leah sobbed and Alice pulled her closer in a gentle hug “I should have known. I’ve always been…manly”
“But…” Alice started.
“I’ve got a manly face, voice, thoughts…sometimes” Leah said her shaking hands were gripping a tree in front of her “I thought that all women thought the thoughts I was having. Then I thought that maybe I was a lesbian and now…I don’t know what’s wrong with me”
“Hey” Alice said in her high soprano voice that was both grating on the werewolves nerves and soothing to her “There is nothing wrong with you. You have a deep voice but…there is nothing odd about that we all have differences that were given to us by god. You have a lovely face, beautiful thick black hair and big light brown eyes”
“That’s it” Leah cried, she didn’t know why it was easy to talk to the vampire but she imagined it had something to do with the imprint.
“You have inner beauty too” Alice soothed “That is far better than any physical attribute that anyone can have”
The two confused women sat in the woods until late in the night talking about the imprint and the fears that they had. Alice had told her about her love for Jasper and what this was going to do to him, about what her family may say or do and then of course the amusement at how much Leah had hated her family and now was imprinted in to it. Leah told her all about her family and how Seth thought that their imprint was amazing and he couldn’t wait to be related to the Cullens and that they would be able to learn so much about history and everything. This all served to make both of them laugh heartily, if nothing else her little brothers eagerness could be something that tied them together. Leah told her about the rest of the packs reactions and Jacobs because until that moment Alice only assumed that he knew but had no proof. Everyone was shocked but no one was really mad about it, if anything they felt bad for the two because of Alice’s love of Jasper and Leah’s inability to be a normal woman.
Then came the hard part of the conversation that they knew had to be brought up but that neither of them wanted to speak about at all. Their relationship, Alice and Leah both claimed to be straight (Leah a bit less so and Alice being a complete virgin to women) they admitted though to feeling the need to touch each other even if just a little. They decided before leaving each other to go to their separate homes that they would try a friendship first, like Jake and Renesme and then later if it grew then it grew but they wouldn’t push it. Maybe if they were lucky this imprint was just the gods’ way of saying ‘see we can all be friends’ and nothing more than that.

Alice took a deep and unnecessary breath before entering the house where she could already hear her boyfriend cursing angrily about her not being there all day. She had already seen all the possible outcomes that could happen after tonight and only one looked good. There was the first one: Jasper hit the roof and took off for a few years coming back with a new love later. Second: Jasper hits the roof and goes back to his old lifestyle never to see the Cullens again. Third: Jasper hits the roof and joins the Volturri in hopes of being able to exact revenge on the family. And the last one: Jasper gets mad, disappears for a few days then comes back and tries to learn to accept what has happened. This one stayed positive but changed constantly, sometimes he be gone only a day, sometimes a week and sometimes not at all and would talk with Emmett, Carlisle and Edward about what this means. One could only hope this would go well.
“Hey, everyone” Alice greeted from the doorway “I need to speak to all the adults in the living room. You too Jake though I think you already know”
“What is it, Alice?” Carlisle’s soft voice asked after they were all standing in the living room “Have you seen another fight coming?”
“No, it’s nothing like that” She answered and they all breathed a sigh of relief “Leah Clearwater has…imprinted”
“That’s good” Esme said sweetly smiling brightly.
“On me” Alice finished watching the reactions go around the room. Bella smiled slightly still shocked even though she had known for a while now, Edward had a confused smile on his face but was watching Jasper closely, Carlisle and Esme were communicating silently with each other through looks and expressions, Emmett was laughing and Jasper was livid.
“So this is where you were all day?” He hissed “With her?!”
“Yes” Alice answered “We had things to talk about but nothing…”
“NO!” Jasper yelled “It’s not possible. It’s a joke, tell me it’s a joke and that you are not some lesbian whore!”
“I am not a lesbian whore” Alice snapped angrily “But I have been imprinted upon and am willing to get to know her”
“I’m leaving!” He screamed at her “I’m gone!” He walked to the door “I am never setting foot in this house again!” with that he left and ran in to the woods.
“We’ll talk to him” Edward said and then ran out of the house after his brother. ‘Well’ Alice thought ‘This has gone well’.
