“So tell me Kai, do you believe in prophecy?” Remo asked casually.
“I must believe in prophecy, I am the fulfillment of prophecy.” Kai replied.
“What do you mean, you are the fulfillment of prophecy?” Remo asked trying to keep the alarm out of his voice.
“It began weeks before my death with a visit to a woman we called the Time Prophet. She told me that my home Brunnis 2 would be destroyed by His Divine Shadow, leader of the Divine Order. She also told me that the Divine Order would be destroyed by the last of the Brunnen G. When Divine Shadow came to destroy my world, I was the last to die. He stole my memories and had me turned into what you see before you, a Divine Assassin. For 2000 years my home was a stone slab in the mortuary on the Cluster surrounded by others like me. For 2000 years I served His Shadow and the Shadows that followed. Until the last Divine Shadow awakened me. Unlike his predecessors, he was arrogant. He mocked the prophecy foretelling of the destruction of the Divine Order at the hands of the Last Brunnen G.”
“What happened?”
“Fate intervened. I regained my memory, when I regained my memory I regained my will at the same time. With Stanley and Xev’s help I killed His Shadow’s human shell. The death of His Shadow’s human host began the cleansing for the rebirth of the Gigashadow. A survivor from the Insect Civilization my ancestors had fought here in the Dark Zone before they left their dying world of Brunnis to colonize Brunnis 2. The Gigashadow was also destroyed. But the Divine Order was not completely destroyed. It took the destruction of the entire Light Universe to destroy The Order.”
“Well I suppose turn about is fair play, Remo said. “I used to be a cop in Trenton, New Jersey. I was an honest guy; did my job, tried to do the right thing. One day I found myself framed and convicted of murder, sentenced to death in the electric chair. Only it didn’t work. Instead of dying I woke up at Folcroft with a new face and a new name. I had been chosen to be the enforcement arm of an organization called CURE. Chuin who was the reigning Master of Sinanju took the contract to train me. Soon I was passing his expectations for a ‘pale piece of pig’s ear’ and he took me on as his official apprentice. We have worked together as a team ever since. According to Chuin, I’m the fulfillment of prophecy too.
But there was more to that prophecy than he told me. I had to read the scrolls myself to learn about it. Chuin doesn’t know that I have read them. The first part of the prophecy was about me. In the prophecy I am referred to as the dead night tiger made whole by Sinanju, the white tiger. The prophecy speaks of another night tiger, one that comes from beyond the void and cannot be made whole, the black tiger. According to the prophecy, the two tigers are evenly matched and must choose to form an alliance or destroy each other. I believe that you Kai, are the black tiger. I would choose alliance, but Chuin will want to protect me. He may opt to facilitate an alliance between us or attempt to destroy you.”

“So Stanley, we now know the exact chemical composition of protoblood” Harold Smith told Stan.
“Yes!” Stan said with excitement “Then we can make more of it for Kai.”
“Not exactly. Two of the elements needed do not exist on Earth. Traces of those elements have been found in moon rock samples however. We would have to go to the moon to get them.”
“Well that’s no problem. We can use a moth to fly up to the Lexx and then we can go get some moon rocks. 790 can help us extract what we need. As long as it’s for Kai, 790 will do everything he can to help.” Stan replied.
“Wait you’re telling me that you have access to the moon?” Harold Smith asked incredulously.
“Yes it’s just a short trip, and Kai is family. If we don’t find a way to supply him with protoblood, we’ll lose him within a year. Do you have the listing of ingredients? I’ll give it to 790 and he can figure out what we need to do to get started.”

Mr. Gordons had one goal to keep moving. It was all he had done since the two Masters of Sinanju had managed to trick him into the shuttle. He had ended up landing here on the moon over 20 years ago and since then he had just wandered aimlessly. He wished he had some companionship instead of this lonely silence.
“Yoohoo! You bucket of bolts! Over here.” The voice said.
Mr Gordons had no doubt that the input he was receiving was real, but it was illogical. He was being hailed by a television set on the dark side of the moon. “Greetings, Mr Magnavox. I am Mr Gordons.”
“My name is Prince, Isambard Prince, not Magnavox.” The image on the screen replied. “I would like to make a deal with you. I seem to be stuck inside this television, and would like nothing more than to get out of it.”
“I believe that I can assist you with that Mr Prince. However I do not know what you can do to assist me.”
“How about helping you get off this barren piece of rock? I am not without resources, I simply cannot access them while I am stuck in here.” Prince replied.
Mr Gordons placed his hand on the television seeking the energy that was Prince. Finding it, he began drawing it out of the television and into himself. As he drew Prince into his circuits he realized that Mr Prince did indeed have resources. Mr Gordon’s sent a radiowave message to the nearest communications satellite. That message was then forwarded to NASA who began gearing up for an emergency shuttle launch to the moon.

Xev was making another disastrous attempt at cooking dinner when Stanley danced into the kitchen, grabbed her, planted a big kiss on her lips and then spun her around.
“Stanley Tweedle, what is wrong with you?” She asked as he danced around the kitchen.
“Not a thing Xev, in fact there’s something very right with me! Where’s 790? I want to tell you both the good news at the same time.”
“You caught a terminal illness and will be dead by morning?” 790 questioned rolling into the room.
“Noooo.” Stan said picking 790 up off the cart to set him on the table.
“Ewwww! It’s touching me!” 790 said with disgust.
“Yeah well look at this!” Stan held the paper print out up in front of 790.
“It’s the formula for protoblood. It’s the exact formula for protoblood!” The robot head said excitedly.
“The formula for protoblood?” Xev questioned.
“Yes! There’s a couple of elements that can only be found in moon rocks so we take a moth fly up to the Lexx and then to the moon and collect some rocks. Then we can make protoblood for Kai! All the protoblood he needs.” Stan was dancing around the kitchen with glee.
The ringing of the doorbell interrupted the celebration. “I’ll get it.” Xev said smiling brightly.
“Tell me woman, is this the dwelling of the assassin known as Kai? I am Chuin, Master of Sinanju Emeritis and I search for my son Remo. He came here looking for this Kai. Where is he?!”
***
“Uh oh! That’s Chuin” Remo said as he and Kai came in the open front door. “Little Father!”
“Remo, you are unhurt! “
“Of course I am unhurt. Why wouldn’t I be?” Remo asked. “or were you worried that perhaps you should have told me about the second part of the whole night tiger prophecy?”
“How do you know of this? You read the scrolls.” Chuin said.
“Yep all of them except the crappy Ung poetry, So I know all about the second night tiger. I didn’t come out here blindly, I knew what I was walking into. However you might want to know that he will kill in an instant to protect the two of them.”
“Yeah that’s right.” Stanley said chiming in from where he was hiding behind Xev.
“Be quiet Stanley.” Kai said. “Your breathing pattern is also not normal for a human. So I take it you have the same abilities as Remo? You are extremely healthy for a man of such advanced age.”
“Little Father this is Kai, Divine Assassin. Kai, my adopted father and Master of Sinanju Emeritis, Chuin.
“So there will be no fighting among you? You choose the path of alliance?” Chuin asked.
“He has not threatened those under my protection so there is no reason for us to fight.” Kai said.
“Well if there isn’t going to be any fighting going on can we get back to what is important? Like planning this rock gathering trip?” 790 asked.
“What is that?” Chuin and Remo asked.
“I am 790. I am not a ‘that’! I happen to be a robot head in love with the most gorgeous man that ever died and I am trying to plan a trip to the moon!”
“Why are you planning a trip to the moon 790?” Kai asked.
“Stanley Tweedle finally managed to make himself useful. He managed to secure the chemical composition of protoblood. Unfortunately a couple of the elements needed can only be found in moon rock so we have to go collect moon rocks to begin synthesizing protoblood for you, corpse of my dreams.” 790 said.
“I told you if there was a way Smitty would find it.” Remo said. “But exactly how do you plan to get to the moon.”
“We’ll take a moth to the Lexx and then make the run from the Lexx to the moon. 790 will need the equipment on board the Lexx and we’ll need to actually put you in cryostasis Kai. We have to make sure that the protoblood will work and that you wake up right.” Stan said.
“That is a wise precaution. If the protoblood is not compatible it could affect my programming. It is best if I am not around other people if that happens.” Kai replied.
“So got room for two more? If you are going to the moon there’s something up there that we need to check on. Make sure it can’t hurt anyone.” Remo said.
