Chapter 2
Kalona followed her, she drove out into a wooded area outside of the town. Kalona found her behavior strange and he wanted to know what she was up to. He watched as she got out and walked around to the trunk, Kalona landed behind her and wrapped his arms around her waste, he felt her body freeze up. “you know, he is still alive right?” she looked back at his face “yes, I do know that.” she said “and your plan?” “why do you care?” “call it curiosity.” he kissed her neck, they both saw john coming to, Kalona watched her grab a rope from the car and bind his hands. Zoey looked back at Kalona “so, can I get an answer?” “no, but you can kiss my ass.” Kalona watched her try to pull him out, he chuckled and helped her. Zoey drug him closer to the tree line. He walked over, “if you want to know, how about you stay and watch.”
Kalona watched her kick john in, “call me a witch will you, I’ll see that it's you that burns.” Kalona heard her growl, the immortal stared. “you are a witch, and you will not get away with this!” Kalona saw a cold look in her eyes, she was full of hate and anger. He saw her walk back to the car, she came back with a box of matches, a bottle of a strange liquid and a knife. She knelt down “i understand now,” he said, his face twisted into a sadistic smile. Kalona grabbed her hand “let me help, I can sense you want revenge.” he said, she stared into his eyes. Kalona grabbed john by the front of his shirt and pulled him from the hole. Zoey watched Kalona toss him down on the ground. “now, hand me the knife.” he said, silently she did, “do you want it to be a slow painful death?” she asked “yes” Kalona smiled “then, you need to avoid everything vital.” he handed it back to her and then pointed to one of his shoulders “here,” Kalona watched her gather strength and stab the knife in, john screamed out in pain. She ripped it out and stabbed it into his other shoulder.
Kalona leaned back and let her, she stuck her knee down into his chest, “i'm not going to wound you to bad, because I want you to feel the fire as it eats you alive.” Kalona had a hard time believing this was the same fledgling that was against him. Zoey made a slash in john's through, though not deep enough to be fatal, it was deep enough to make him bleed. Kalona watched her drink his blood “they will know, do you really think this will stop them?” “this wont, but then again I mailed a fairly convincing letter this morning before I drove you out here.” Zoey stood and whipped her mouth and cleaned the blood off. Kalona watched her push him back down into the hole, Zoey threw some brush on john. Kalona leaned close and saw the man's terrified eyes. Zoey poured the liquid from the bottle out all over him. The immortal did nothing to stop her as she leaned down, he was honest to himself. Seeing her like this was turning him one. The way she worked, calm but with vengeance. She had a plan, she wasn't making this up as she went “just to make sure no one hears you when we leave.” Zoey wadded up a piece of cloth and forced it into his mouth. She then lit the match and tossed it in. the flames engulfed the brush, “earth, close around him but let air in so the fire may burn.” Kalona watched the earth move to close up around him. He looked at Zoey, she was looking back at him. “my little a-ya, that was an interesting little show.” Zoey looked back at the patch of ground, it was closed up, for the most part anyways. She collapsed to the ground, Kalona sat down beside her, Zoey looked at him. “you're gonna go and tell Neferet about this, aren't you?” Kalona chuckled “no, I am not” he said “What good would selling you out or blackmailing you do?” he asked, suddenly Kalona pulled the fledgling up onto his lap and kissed her. that’s when she felt the bug in his pants. “you are turned on by this?!” he chuckled again and kissed her “seeing you like that, so angry and violent.” he licked the side of her neck. Zoey trembled and pushed back. Kalona pinned her to the ground, he saw her trembled underneath him “i just want to take you as mine” he said, Zoey looked up into his eyes. She could practically see the lust in them. Kalona stood and walked away, Zoey sat up. “i will see you later, my little a-ya” she watched his wings spread and he took off into the sky.
