Chapter 13

“Morning baby, it’s time to get up for school.” Jasper said softly. Alice groaned and stretched. She opened her eyes to find his gold ones watching her.

“Mmm… Morning Jazz.” She yawned and stretched. “I slept like a rock.”

“I know. And you talk in your sleep.” He said with a grin. She flushed immediately.

“What did I say?” She asked warily.

“Just some moaning and my name a few times.” He responded with a laugh.

Alice moved suddenly to get up out of the bed but his hand shot out to stop her. “Wait he said stiffly. Your blush is tempting but I’m ok while you are touching me. Just give me a minute.” She froze where she was and then reached out her hand to touch his face. He relaxed as soon as she did. “Ok, I’m ok now.” She kissed him gently, smiled and untangled herself from the sheets and went to shower.

When she was ready, she and Jasper climbed in Emmett’s jeep while the other three got into Edward’s Volvo. They rode to school in silence just holding each others hand. When they pulled into the parking lot, Jasper squeezed her hand gently. “Are you sure about being with me?” He asked anxiously.

“Absolutely.” She answered with conviction.

“Are you sure you are ready to go public?”

“Not really but I’m going to rip some girls hair out or punch the next one to flirt with you so I guess it is time.” He smiled at her. They climbed out of the car together and headed for their lockers.

“I was thinking that maybe we should share a locker, or share them both. What do you think?”

“Does that mean I get to see you more?” She asked and he nodded in response.

“Well then, I say let’s do it.” They turned the corner of the building together to find Tyler waiting for her.

“Hey, Alice. Can I talk to you for a second?” He asked.

“Sure, Tyler, what’s up?”

“Umm…can I talk to you alone?”

Her hand immediately went to Jasper’s arm right as he let out a growl. “Well let’s see, there really isn’t anything you can’t say to me in front of Jasper.”

“Well this is kind of personal, you know?” Tyler added nervously.

“As I said, there isn’t anything you can’t say in front of Jasper. He and I share everything.” She looked up at Jasper and her smile was blinding.

“Well, uh, I was wondering if you’d like to maybe go to dinner on Friday and I could give you a tour of the town.” He finally spit out. Jasper could feel the amusement rolling off her and knew that Alice was up to something he just couldn’t figure out what.

“Oh, you want to give me and Jasper a tour of the town and take us out to dinner? That’s so sweet. Jazz, honey, what do you think?”

“No…no…I meant just you and me.”

“Oh, I’m sorry, Tyler, I don’t go anywhere without Jasper.”

“So you…and…oh…you mean you two are um…uh…together?”

“Well, now that you’ve caught up, do you mind if I walk my girlfriend to class?” Jasper said dangerously. Tyler immediately gulped and swallowed several times before shaking his head no. Alice and Jasper walked away.

“Darling,” Alice said, “I think you are going to have to watch that. You nearly scared the pants off the boy.”

“Good, maybe then I won’t have to deal with anyone else asking you out.”

“It doesn’t matter how many ask, the only one I want is you.” She said kissing him softly and dancing off into her classroom with a grin thrown over her shoulder.

Edward had saved her a seat next to him. He looked at her curiously and so she responded in her head. “Tyler asked me out and I played with him a bit before he got the point that Jasper and I are together. So are you happy now, we’ve gone public?” He nodded slightly and Alice smiled.

“Jessica is not happy that you have interfered though. She is planning on asking him out today.” He whispered back.

“Jeez, the girl never gives up does she?”

“She’s not planning on it.”
