Fall Back to Tashbaan

"They want to chase us all the way back to our glorious city. They want us beaten down to a point where we can't get back up and finish us off, humiliating us in our own capital city!
No, we shall retreat to our city, with our forces at full strength and force the Narnian Barbarians to take it from us!" Rishda shouted and the men shouted back.
"If they want Tashbaan so badly, then they will have to pry our city from our cold, dead hands!" he shouted and the Calormenes cheered their Tisroc on.

"So, they are falling all the way back to Tashbaan...clever move. I didn't think Rishda had it in him," Peter mused.
"Do we march all the way to Tashbaan?" the head dwarf asked.
"March all the way to Tashbaan, are you crazy!?" a badger shouted.
"Your Majesty, it would be full hardy to march across that desert into Tashbaan. It would be far easier to take the city by sea," Reepicheep said.
"Agreed," Caspian seconded the suggestion.
"Do we have enough boats though?" Edmund asked.
"The dwarves, if we are allowed to be up at front when we take the city, can get enough boats acquired for the whole army," the dwarf offered.
"Agreed, we shall take the city by the water," Peter decided.

'Ah, finally, home,' Rishda thought to himself. 'Tash, we shall kill them here, go back to Narnia and destroy the land of the stone table.'
The army came back into Tashbaan and started patrolling the city. The people became nervous at this gesture, but they didn't wish to question the Tisroc. Archers took positions near the river that flowed close to the city. If the Narnians came by that way, their boats would eat fiery arrows.

"I hate all this waiting around for the dwarves to built us ships!" Shazarraah ranted.
"Impatient aren't we?" Edmund teased.
"Don't start with me," she growled.
"Hey, what's your problem?" Edmund asked.
"Your sisters and Jill trying to convince me to marry you now."
Edmund looked thoughtful, "Peter and Caspian were trying to do the same thing. So, why wait?"
"What? you actually want to be my husband?" she asked.
"Hey, you're the only girl I actually enjoy fighting with," Edmund replied with a grin on his face.
"Y'know, you're the only male I actually enjoy fighting myself, plus, you've got just enough to pleasure me."
"Just enough? I believe I've got more than enough to make you scream," Edmund bragged.
"Now remind me who did the screaming the last time we laid with each other?"
"Not sure," Edmund answered.
"I think my inner muscles made you cry my name louder than your other sword made me," Shazarraah said.
"That's because you were on top the last time," Edmund complained.
"And you enjoyed every minute of it," Shazarraah replied, now nose to nose with him.
"What will our children think of their parents?" Edmund mused. Shazarraah rolled her eyes, then started laughing and Edmund joined in with her. The two held each other, trying not to fall over in laughter.
"Love you," Edmund said after catching his breath.
"Love you too," she said quietly. "Let's make those silly siblings of yours happy."
"Yes, lets. I doubt Susan will give up once she's got it into her head to get us to marry."
"Then, ask me like a proper gentleman would."
"My dearest Tarkheena, would you do this Narnian barbarian the ultimate pleasure of being his wife?" he asked, keeping himself from laughing, but that became impossible due to the fact that Shazarraah couldn't contain her own laughter.
"That was the silliest, but cutest thing I've ever heard. Alright you, I'll be your wife," she said and the two kissed.

Dozens upon dozens of Narnian ships were anchored on the shore of the river. On the flagship, a gathering could be seen on the main deck.
"It is an old sailing tradition that the captain of the ship has the privilege of performing a wedding ceremony. However, since there's a fleet of ships and just as many captains, I, being the High King, shall perform this one," Peter proclaimed.
It was a quick ceremony, and the two wouldn't have wanted any other way. the gathered made a deafening cheer when the two kissed as husband and wife.
888
Sails unfurled and the ships pulled up anchor and started their trek down the river. Watchmen and archers kept a sharp lookout for any enemy archers. They knew that they would have to fight their way into Tashbaan no matter which route they would have taken, so they were ready.
888
"Our advance scouts say that the Narnian barbarians are two days away from the city, sire," an officer reported to Rishda.
"Good, just as I planned it. Once the Narnian dogs get here, they will be killed and their bodies made into burnt sacrifices," Rishda said with a smirk.
'Rishda!'
"Ugh", Rishda groaned in pain. 'My lord Tash?'
'The Tarkheena has married the barbarian king Edmund! I wish her to be a live sacrifice to me!'
'Of course, my Lord Tash,' Rishda replied.
888
"Couldn't sleep?"
"What do you think?" Edmund answered his brother. "I don't know what it is, but I keep having the nightmares about Shazarraah...she always ends up becoming a live sacrifice for Tash."
Peter bit his lip, "we are entering the heard of the Calormen Empire. It would only be normal to have nightmares like that."
"This was more than a nightmare, Peter. This felt as if it were going to happen."
"Vision from Aslan?"
"If it is, the lion is scaring the crap out of me," Edmund replied.
"I wouldn't put it passed Rishda to make her into a live sacrifice to Tash."
"I am not going to let that happen, Peter. One of us has got to run Rishda through."
"That goes without saying. Don't worry Ed, I'm going to end this, once and for all," Peter said, the light in his bright. The ships continued to sail on to their final destination.
