Ok, this chapter is a little bit longer. :)
Be sure to answer the question at the bottom. ;)
Jasper wasn’t at the house when I arrived. I dropped my backpack inside the door and took off toward the Cullen house.
I wound up just outside the clearing. Jasper was sitting on the bench with his eyes closed. I took the opportunity to take in my surroundings.
The clearing itself was oddly shaped, not round or even oval. The grass was fairly short, and there were no weeds. I noticed a small clump of flowers: blue-violet hyacinth, magenta cyclamen, and white asphodel; sorrow, resignation, and regret. It didn’t occur to me that none of them were in season.
“I know you’re there, Whitaker,” Jasper whispered, pulling me from my observations. He sounded strained. “You can come out.” I stepped forward and sat beside him. His eyes remained closed. “If you didn’t want me, you could have said something.”
“What did you see?”
“You kissing Mike fucking Newton.”
“Will you let me explain?” I asked calmly.
“I don’t know what there is to explain…”
“I had to talk to a teacher. I didn’t know Mike would be waiting on me. I was caught off guard when he kissed me. I tried not to hurt him too much when I pushed him away and told him I wasn’t interested.”
“Because you knew I was there.”
“No, actually, I had no idea until Edward attacked me.”
“I saw. Nice moves, by the way.”
“I don’t like fighting.”
“I noticed.”
“I’m sorry. I promise I didn’t kiss him back.”
He didn’t answer.
“He told me he kissed me because he thought we’d broken up.”
“Why would he think that?”
“You’ve been distant since New Year’s. He noticed today and assumed…”
“I’ve had a lot on my mind.”
“We’re all subject to that from time to time.”
“I feel your honesty. I want you to know I believe you. I’m sorry I’ve been distant.” His apology seemed forced, but I wasn't going to call him out on it.
“It’s all right.” I patted the hand he had resting on his thigh. “Do you want to talk?”
“Not really.” I sighed and resigned myself to silence. Finally, his eyes opened and cut to me quickly, though he didn’t turn his head. “I have a question.”
“Shoot.”
“What did you call me New Year’s Eve?”
“My treasure.”
“Why?”
“Why do you call me love?”
“That’s different.”
“Is it?”
“Yes. I am no treasure, but you are someone to be loved.” I shook my head, laughing.
“I researched the meaning of your name. It means ‘treasure’, so you’re my treasure. No one was ever interested in me until I met you. You’re too perfect for me; you’re more than I deserve.”
“You’re lying.”
“No, I’m not.”
“I believe you are thinking backwards.”
“Am I?” I pulled his shirt over his head and touched the four newest scars along his chest. “These are my fault. If it weren’t for me, you would’ve never run into Paul…” He covered my hand in his.
“No, love. I shouldn’t have lost control.”
“Control isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I knew well what I was getting into. You need to understand that, if nothing else: I knew exactly what might happen. I don’t care how crazy or insane it sounds, but you saved my life, and I wanted to give what you needed.” I traced the scars down to his hip. “You’re beautiful, even with these.”
“You’re delusional…” That hit a nerve.
“I am not delusional!” I yelled, standing in my anger. “I know what happened, okay? I know what he did to me!” I heard a few birds flap off into the distance.
“What?”
I shook my head to clear the memories that had caused my outburst. “I am not delusional. If me opening myself to you, being completely honest, pouring out my heart for you is delusional…then I don’t know what’s real.” His mouth was hanging open, but I couldn’t stop yet. “I am giving myself to you, but your head is shoved too far up your ass to see that.” His mouth closed with an audible snap. “You call me a liar every time I tell you honestly what I see when I look at you. And that hurts, damn it!” I closed my eyes to calm myself. “I’m sorry that Alice left you the way she did. She destroyed your confidence, didn’t she?”
His gaze drifted to the frosted grass.
“I’m not leaving unless you tell me to go.”
He didn’t move.
“Do you want to know what I thought when I first saw you?” I caught a brief nod. “I thought you were sexy as hell, lonely, and could in no way be interested in little ol’ me.
“When you touched my hand that first time in the cafeteria, I felt a cold shock all through my body, like someone had dropped me in ice water. Cliché, I know, but it’s what I felt.”
“Not cliché,” he murmured. “I felt it, too, though it was like fire for me.”
“When I first met Edward, I thought he was attractive, but he had nothing on you.” I leaned forward, placing one hand on the arm of the bench and the other on the back of the bench, so I could whisper in his ear. “And when we made love…I was in heaven.”
His unnecessary breathing hitched.
I kissed his temple gently. “Can we leave these splotches of our past where they belong: in the past?”
“Forgive me.”
“There’s nothing to forgive.” His arms wrapped around my waist and he nuzzled into my chest. I felt his body quiver, so I slid my arms around him securely. “You didn’t break me, treasure. And now, I’m unbreakable.”
He pressed his lips to my abdomen. “I seem to be at a disadvantage here.”
“Why is that?”
“I’m shirtless and you’re not.” I laughed aloud, glad that his brooding mood was over.
“Easily taken care of.”
He released me so I could pull my shirt over my head and toss it across the back of the bench. Immediately, he had his arms back around my waist and his head against my chest.
“Can we stay like this for a while?” he asked hesitantly.
“Of course.” I ran my fingers through his hair and kissed the top of his head. “If you can deal with my smelly self, that is.”
He chuckled. “I like how you smell.”
“That’s good. I don’t know where I’d be if you hated how I smell.” I felt his lips press against my chest.
They moved lower.
“You smell good,” he murmured against my navel. I shivered. “Especially…here.” He kissed over my already-growing erection. “Excited about something?” he smirked. I leaned down and kissed him hungrily.
“No more than you.” I rubbed him through his jeans, dragging a low moan from him. I stopped and looked him in the eye.
He caught on to my seriousness quickly and paused his hand on my hip.
“So, is the past in the past?” He nodded. I kissed his forehead lovingly. “My treasure.”
“So…what now?” he asked after a pause.
“You decide.” I turned and walked to the edge of the clearing. “I could leave to give you time to think…”
He was behind me in a flash.
“You’re not going anywhere,” he growled in my ear, squeezing his arms tightly around my torso.
“Oh? What am I doing, then?”
He spun me around and pressed my back against a nearby tree. “I don’t know…” He pressed his entire body against mine, flush with every part of me. “How do you feel about being fucked by me?” he whispered huskily into my ear. I gasped at the intensity of lust he caused in me.
“Well… I guess that would be fine.”
“You guess?”
“I can think of better things to do…” I teased.
“Then I’ll have to show you a good time.”
“I suppose you will.” He leaned forward and unbuttoned my jeans, his lips barely brushing over mine.
“If I have my way with you, this tree may not survive.”
The next thing I knew, I was standing nude in front of Jasper, my back against the tree, my erection standing proudly. I heard Jasper purring as he traced my body with his hands.
He stepped away from me and began unbuttoning his own trousers. I watched in fascination as he stripped for me. I found it…erotic that his eyes never left mine.
When he came close again, he placed my hands on his shoulders and lifted my legs to his waist.
Without further ado, he thrust into my body, kissing me in the process. I moaned. Being a vampire has its advantages. We don’t have to take time to prepare unless we want to. I arched my back away from the tree.
“Fuck,” Jasper groaned.
“Aren’t we?” I murmured. He kissed me gently, the exact opposite of what his lower body was doing to me. His pace was pounding, assaulting my prostate with each thrust. I panted into the kiss.
I heard a loud moan. It was full of longing and want. I opened my eyes, but Jasper had frozen.
“Did you—?” I asked. He shook his head. “It wasn’t me, either.”
“Someone’s watching,” he muttered.
“Then, let’s give them a show.” I captured his lips again and he restarted his fast pace. I ground my hips downward for more friction. He replied by stroking me; it was too much.
I came with a loud, wordless cry. Jasper followed me, shaking.
“Whitaker,” he moaned, gently nipping my shoulder. “Mine,” he growled.
“Yours,” I purred, kissing his disheveled hair. He set me down gingerly and used his own shirt to clean us up.
We dressed quickly, so it took seconds.
“You can come out now,” Jasper called. I looked at him in confusion. He nodded towards the woods and I watched a shadowy figure slink out from behind a cluster of trees with their head down.
“You were the one watching?” I asked incredulously.
Hmm... Who could it have been... Any ideas on the voyeur?
Anon--Hi, yourself. :)
Song of Time--We'll just have to see, won't we? ;)
Gaps of Misery--If you thought that was entertaining, I bet you liked this chapter. ;) Yeah, I think Edward forgot his blood tablets today...(if you've seen/read Vampire Knight, you should know. I love it, by the way) :P But we have to start out small and get noticed. I'm not sure the producers of the channels would let us on so easily... Unless you know some people, of course. :) I don't.
