Alcide came in holding a Walgreen’s bag and a duffel bag that contained more of those soup cans that were so clever. He scowled when he saw I was bleeding out on the sofa. “I loved that couch,” he muttered.
Eric smirked and waited for him to bandage me up. “Did you black out?” he looked concerned for both of us. His lover nodded. Alcide picked me up as if I was a bit of lint he was brushing off the couch and carried me up to the bathroom. He settled me into the tub and just sat there on the toilet for a long time staring at me. “I’m sorry about this,” he said at last. “Roll over,” I did and felt him insert an enema. Then he used what felt like one of those things people use on infants to flush their noses, I felt water flush my anus out and then he pushed salve in, in the same manner. Then he wrapped my bottom in gauze. He dressed me in sweats and led me back downstairs. Every step was pure agony. When we got back downstairs I saw that Eric had covered the couch in blankets. Alcide sat me down and took his place next to me. He pressed two pills in my hand and I swallowed them meekly. Eric got up and turned on the IPOD and when that haunting Irish melody came on Alcide groaned. “Eric, don’t put on your sad mix.” Eric turned and flashed him with his dangerous eyes. “Shut up, I like this song.” He did and his lover sat back down in his corduroy recliner “We’ll have to go shopping at the thrift store for another sofa tomorrow,” Alcide said. The blonde rolled his eyes. “You’re a fucking millionaire, why do we always have to have shitty furniture?” Alcide smirked and shrugged. “I don’t like how new stuff makes me feel.” Eric sighed heavily and poured out some of the poisonous white powder and I saw his boyfriend frown secretly. He bent his golden head and did two and then three more. “You’re going to fuck up your heart,” Alcide complained. His lover looked up and he was so still that part of me was afraid. “My heart’s been dead since I was five,” he said softly with a mummified expression. Alcide got a grim look to him and said nothing. He knew. It occurred to me that these two monsters were so emotionally damaged that all the world’s joy could never heal them and that they were making me just like them. “Sookie?” the addict held out the straw and I took it, though if it was from fear or desire I’m not sure. I was starting to like cocaine. I did a fat line and lay back on the blanketed couch. That sad song from my rape in Florida came on and I bowed my head as the aching melody coasted over my ears. “He listens to this song all the time,” Alcide said sounding exasperated. “It’s beautiful,” I whispered. The doorbell rang and he got up to answer it. It was Simon. He was dressed in a black leather jacket and some part of me thought distantly that in any other situation I would have been attracted to him. He had a smoke dangling out of his mouth as he walked in. “I thought you quit,” he said glancing at Eric’s Marlboro’s. “I did but fuck it right?” Simon glanced at me with veiled concern. “I need more meth and coke,” he said to the black haired boss of his. Alcide got up and came down holding a bag stuffed with cans. “Hey have you heard from Anton lately?” Alcide shook his head. “No, why?” “He sent me this loopy text last night.” Both my rapists looked intrigued. “What did it say?” Alcide asked. “Something about his heart,” he paused and looked at me and then continued. “How it’s no longer his.” Eric looked at me with a furious countenance. “Fuck he’s in love with her,” he said. “He’s probably doing acid again,” Alcide said with a worried look. “Yeah he also said some shit about the universe disintegrating and the stars watching him decay,” he turned to go. “See ya bro.” “See ya.” I felt strange hearing what I had sort of known deep down. Anton was in love with me. Enya started singing in Gaelic and I felt my chest hurt with the pure longing and sorrow of the song. I recognized her from all the times my mom and I had gotten pedicures together. “I do like this song,” Alcide admitted. Eric said nothing he just tufted his hair until it stood wildly up from the primal beauty of his face. “If he wasn’t your cousin and I didn’t love him, I would fuck him up so bad,” he said eventually after doing another line. Alcide seemed apprehensive. “What difference does it make?” His blue eyes narrowed. “I don’t like it.” “By the way, I sent your tia money and a homemade card,” he said changing the subject abruptly. “Thanks.” I noticed that Alcide wasn’t joining us in doing the drug. The thought of Eric; this sadistic fuck making a homemade card made me feel strange. “What did it look like?” He looked surprised at my question. “It was heart shaped with glitter, she loves glitter,” he looked full of love as he said it. “How did you and Alcide meet?” The blonde was quiet for a long time. “We met when I was raping someone,” he said quietly. It wasn’t all that shocking and I said so. He smiled a little and did a line. “I want to play a game,” I said. “What kind of game?” he asked. “Basketball I guess.” “Fine but you need to eat first,” he said firmly. Alcide got up and went to the kitchen and by now I was so addicted to his dishes that despite the cocaine I felt my stomach growl. Twenty long minutes later he came back in holding a plate. It was crepes, the exact same kind that he had made for Miguel their mentor. They were fabulous, to say that Alcide was the best cook on the planet wouldn’t have been an understatement, he was so good he made me look like a slouchy athlete. I knew that I was in no condition to play a game of hoops and that I would most likely start bleeding again but the pills and the coke were working strongly on me. I ravished the plate, raped it of its contents and handed it to him, I resisted the urge to lick it clean. “Thanks.” Alcide looked pleased with my reaction and I heard him cleaning the plate and putting it in the dishwasher. He started it up and came back in. “I’m going to change into some sweats,” he looked at me closely. “You sure you’re up to this?” I gave him a drugged smile. “I’m always up to any sort of game,” I said in that arrogant way that my parents had tried to get me to stop doing ever since I realized that I was better at sports than almost anyone else. “We’ll have to play horse since Anton’s not here,” Alcide said tossing the ball in. Eric went over to the IPOD and pressed play. “I was bruised and battered I couldn’t tell what I felt, I was unrecognizable to myself, saw my reflection and didn’t know my own face, I was wasting. I walked the avenue till my legs felt like stone, heard my blood in my veins, just as black and wispy as the rain. Ain’t no angel gonna save me.” I sat down on the concrete floor and cried as the sad song played. Not just cried, long heaving sobs that rocked my body. Alcide got down on the floor with me and held me tight against his chest. “I miss my brother,” I moaned. I did too. Somehow the song brought back all my memories of me teaching him sign language and making him snacks. He had always been special to me but at that moment I wanted to hold his little hand so badly it destroyed me. “He’s fine, and I called Miguel three times today,” Eric said softly patting my back. “You don’t understand,” I said looking up at him. “My parents can’t handle that he’s deaf, my mom gets drunk every night because she can’t stand it.” Eric gazed down at me with no expression. “He’ll live, everyone has something they have to live with.” I sobbed until my ass started bleeding again. “Please let me go home,” I whimpered. Their cold beauty shone down at me from above and they both shook their heads. “You are home,” Eric said. And I knew that he was right. He picked me up gently and carried me from the barn. I was high and dead inside. He settled me into his bed and the two sick fucks held me while I cried. @At Space Cowboy, I don't know how to fix that fuck up, sorry about that, for any one who hasn't been following this story all along, the missing chapter is over at the Writer's Coffee shop.
