Aurora moaned softly as she tensed up her body in a stretch, keeping her arms near her body. The sun was just beginning to filter through the curtains. Her mind seemed fuzzy as her eyes fluttered open slightly. She froze when she heard a deeper moan coming from behind her. It was then she realized there was someone behind her. An arm draped over her waist and the body spooned up tight against her. Her breath caught as the events from the night before flooded her mind.
“Are you all right?” A deep voice asked her in a hushed tone. She pulled back slightly, and saw she had been resting her arm and head on another man’s chest. Just then that man was looking at her through slitted eyes, his arms comfortably resting behind his head. His name is Adair, she remembered. He sat up a little and tilted his head at her when she hesitated to answer, concern flashing in the crimson eyes that had now opened wider. “Are you ok?” He asked her again, still trying to keep his voice quiet.
“I...I think so. Just disoriented, I guess. Forgot where I was,” she answered quietly in a slightly shaky voice. She opened her mouth to speak again but Adair placed two fingers lightly over her lips and shushed her as they heard his friend stirring again.
“Blake likes to sleep late and gets cranky if he doesn’t.” He nodded to the door. “Let me get you a robe and then get us some breakfast.” Aurora pressed the red satin sheet tighter against her bare chest and merely watched him with baited breath as he climbed out of bed. She averted her gaze, however, upon realizing that, like Blake and herself, he was still without clothing.
Seemingly unembarrassed by his state of undress, Adair casually made his way to the closet, returning with a black silk robe for her and a deep blue one for himself. Gingerly, she removed Blake’s arm from her waist and slipped out of the bed, donning the robe immediately and tying the strap tightly around her slender waist. She looked up at the sound of Adair’s sharp intake of breath and realized what she must look like to him. Her hair was a mess on top of her head and the tangle mess of curls that took her a half hour to fix the night before looked wild as it cascaded down her back. Her lips still slightly swollen for the hungry kisses they all shared that night. Her eyes still dilated in the dimness of the room. Normally, she would be running for the shower to clean up, but for some reason the appreciation in his eyes stopped her. He was seeing her in a way few ever got the chance to see her, and she realized he liked what he saw. It made her feel strange. Light and weak, yet strong and powerful at the same time. He extended a hand to her and led her quietly from the room, down a long flight of stairs and to the large sitting room their night had begun in upon reaching the home that night. The wine glasses still sat on the table in various stages of emptiness, and the embers from the fire still glowed.
“Can I get you something to drink? Juice, coffee, tea?” Adair asked her. She followed him into the kitchen where he began to pour water into a coffee pot to heat up for tea.
“Do you by any chance have any peach tea?” She responded quietly. He opened a cupboard and searched through some boxes.
“Yes, actually, I do,” he answered, pulling a few tea bags out of a box inside the cupboard. She sat silently on a bar stool beside the counter and watched him prepare the tea for the both of them. She took the warm mug gratefully and carefully took a sip. A happy sigh escaped her throat and a smile curved her lips. She knew Adair was watching her. Normally she would have been uneasy, but not this time. She found she liked being watched by him.
“So, do you two... do this often?” she asked softly. Adair took a sip of his own tea and then sighed.
“Not really. We have a few times, but I choose not to make it a habit of it.” Adair paused a moment and gave a light smile. “Blake was actually holding back last night, I was surprised. He can get pretty rough.”
“Oh really? Guess I was special,” she said lightly.
“You are.” Aurora got the feeling he had not meant for her to hear that remark so she pretended as much. Adair stood and leaned against the counter and she sat in silence for a moment. He would look over at her from time to time as she swirled her tea in her cup. She startled him with her next question.
“Do you like living like this?”
“What do you mean?” He gave her a confused look. “Like here, in this place? Or clubbing and picking up strangers?”
“The second one?”
“Do you enjoy being picked up by strangers at a club?” He returned. She raised an eyebrow at him.
“My question first. Then I will answer yours,” she responded. He chuckled.
“Fair enough; I used to. Not anymore. Just looking for something stable now... Blake just has a way to bring out the darker side in me. Now you, do you enjoy it?”
“Last night was the first time I ever allowed it to happen. I typically leave with no one but the ones who I came with. I never leave with anyone else. Let alone two people I have never met before in my life.” She decided to continue this back and forth question game she had started. “Dark side? You seemed gentle to me. Was that just part of your game?”
“Not for me. That is how I always went about meeting someone new. Blake plays the games. He is the love ‘em and leave ‘em type. I would rather... Never mind. It is not important.” He looked down at his tea cup again. Just as Aurora was about to speak again, he stopped her by looking up and speaking a new question. “So last night was a first for you? Just leaving with someone you didn’t know, or something else?” She was stunned by the question for a moment.
“Don’t get me wrong. I have had my share of partners,” she answered. “But they were always someone I knew and trusted. However two at one time was new to me. Now do you always share a room with Blake? I mean are you two...?” His cheeks reddened slightly and he grinned.
“No, I am not... Either way. He keeps his distance from me in those situations. However, he may swing both ways. I wouldn’t be surprised,” he answered with a laugh. The blush on his cheeks could still be seen though faint.
“I made you blush,” Aurora teased him lightly. They both shared a soft laugh as they looked back down at their cups. “If you don’t have a relationship with him, why do you share a room?”
“We don’t. That was Blake’s room we were in last night.”
“His robe too?” She smiled at Adair as he glanced down
“The black one is his. This one he took from me the last time and I never got it back” Aurora watched him as he gazed into his cup, swirling the tea around in a circular motion.
Suddenly, he looked up at her. She saw the fire in his eyes again. Desire was building. The problem was she really should be headed back to her apartment. Her friends would be worrying about her. She coughed and stood. “I really should be headed back home.”
Disappointment flashed in his eyes for a moment before he stood straight again. “I will get your clothes for you. You may barrow one of the showers if you wish.”
“Thank you.” Aurora had just started past him when he reached out and lightly grabbed her waist. She gasped as his lips pressed against hers. Her heart beat faster and her eyes closed. Her lips responded before she could think. Oh yes, the passion was there. This time was different though. This was not like the sexual kisses they shared the night before. These kisses went deeper. As if he was reaching deep into her soul. She knew she should not give in, but she found her fingers going for the tie on his robe. An idea struck her and her fingers paused over the tie. She pulled back slightly to look at him, the look in her eyes mirroring his own. He saw the smile on her face as she gently pushed him back and took off from the kitchen and into the living room. Her friends could wait, she decided. He hesitated only a moment before realizing her game and chased after her. Their laughter filled the room and she made a break for the staircase.
“Got you,” he growled. She squealed as his arms snaked around her waist and his lips hit her throat. The chase had heightened the need that had been coursing through them. He lifted her up and made his way up the rest of the stairs and down a hall. They crept passed Blake’s room, snickering as they heard the soft snoring inside. Her eyes widened when Adair opened a new door to reveal a room filled with deep blues and gold. She understood then why his robe was the deep shade of blue and why he said it was his and not Blake’s. The room almost gave her a sense of royalty.
He laid her down on the bed, and stopped as he gazed at her. The last time she had been laid down, there had not been time to admire her beauty. He wanted to make up for that this time. Slowly, he lowered his head to touch their lips together. A soft moan came from those tender lips as his tongue brushed against them. One of his hands gently touched her neck as she moaned again and he smiled at the vibrations he felt there. Her lips opened to grant his tongue access again and her tongue met his as he explored the warmth of her mouth. The slight taste of the peach tea could still be tasted and he relished in it. He groaned in response to her tongue’s actions against his own, pleasure going even higher. He had meant to take his time, but he worried he would be unable to control his body if this kept up the way it was going.
Aurora shivered as Adair's lips roamed from her lips to along her jaw and she tilted her head to grant him more access. Soft warm wetness, alternating between tongue lips and teeth, caressed her ear, nibbling the lobe and the sensitive skin just beneath it. She shivered with a whimper of delight when his experienced mouth followed the nerves down her neck, nipping the juncture to her shoulder and following her collarbone to swirl his tongue in the hollow of her neck. Her breathing had become uneven; her hands gripping his robe, for once, unsure what to do with them, and in no way able to get her mind to concentrate. Her body had been filled with so many emotions and cravings-she desperately needed more from him.
“Adair,” she moaned as his hands roamed down her side, creating even more of the tingling sensation that was driving her crazy. He groaned in response to her soft, breathless voice as he undid the tie keeping her robe closed in front of her and let it open and fall to her sides. Carefully, he ran a hand along her chest, causing her breath to hitch and her eyes to flutter shut. He could feel her heart racing as he continued his light touch against her skin. To him, he felt he was gazing upon a work of perfection. Another brief touch of his hand brought another moan from her lips as she moved her hips beneath him causing him to jump slightly. There was no longer any time for him to just sit and stare. He lowered himself down and captured her lips with his own again, sucking and nipping as her body began to writhe beneath him. She was begging for him; pleading for more. He was more than happy to oblige her. He pulled back one last time as he reached for his bedside table, removing their protection from its place inside the drawer. Her fingers went to the tie on his robe, allowing him complete freedom as he shrugged the robe off him and cast it off to the floor. His fingers made their way between her legs and she gasped as they found the bundle of nerves they were searching for. He watched as her face showed the signs of her passion, eyes closed her teeth barely biting down on her lower lip. One of her own hands reached up to her chest and he watched as she caressed her breast in time and movement to his own hand down below. When he felt he could no longer hold back thanks to the sight before him, he removed his hand to put on the barrier and then positioned himself above her. Carefully, he lowered himself into the tightness that welcomed his throbbing member. They both moaned in unison at the sensation as he began to move within her. Her muscles added to the friction against him as they clenched around him in time to his thrusts. He kissed her deeply as he moved, he felt her nails sink into his back as she neared her peak and it caused him to groan out her name, his head tilting back away from her as he continued to move. Her muscles tightened even more as her legs wrapped around his waist. Rapture took her and her nails scrapped his back, leaving their mark on his previously unmarked skin as she cried out and her body shuddered around him, bringing on his own release. He dropped upon her and clung tightly to her as their breaths slowed. Carefully, he pulled from her and removed the barrier to discard it in a trashcan by the bed before rolling to allow her head to rest on his chest as he tenderly ran his fingers through the silken strands of her hair.
Aurora closed her eyes as she enjoyed the peace that came from the aftermath of their actions. A soft sigh escaped her lips and her body shuddered again and again as her system settled from the explosive ecstasy they had been caught up in. The shudders bringing a smile to Atem’s lips as he pulled her tighter to him. Aurora could not help by mask the laugh that built up inside her as she realized what was happening to her. No, she could not tame this fire. This time it would consume her. He placed a kiss on the top of her head as the lay in silence. Yes, it would consume her, and she would not fight it.
