Chapter Two – The Meeting of Worlds
“We will get through this ma petite.” Jean-Claude watched Anita pace his office after the phone call with Traveler. All the tiredness he felt in her through the marks was just a distant memory.
“I can’t help it. There is always trouble when the council comes calling.” Anita’s hand itched to grab her Browning and just shoot something to make herself feel better.
“Oui, that is normally the case. I feel this time that he is truly coming for what he says. You heard how the negotiations went, Traveler did not ask for anything more than the chance to introduce you to another necromancer.”
Jean-Claude spoke calmly, hoping to sooth the nerves of his beloved before she causes some undo harm to someone. He watched as her hand kept drifting toward her gun on many occasions; he wanted to calm her down enough so she would not be tempted to draw the weapon.
“Come in mon chardonnet.” Jean-Claude glanced toward the door as Asher came into the room. Asher’s gaze flicked to Anita and back to Jean-Claude taking in the situation that he walked in on. He arched an elegant brow in silent question to Jean-Claude before taking a seat waiting patiently for a reply.
“Traveler will be here in four days.” Jean-Claude’s beautiful eyes watched his occasional lover for his reaction to the news. Asher went deathly still and looked deep into Jean-Claude’s eyes.
Anita watched Asher’s reaction as well and watched him carry on a silent conversation with Jean-Claude through their eyes. Jean-Claude and Asher have been friends for such a long time, words were not often needed.
Asher nodded and let the stillness bled out of him, “Tell me the rest.”
Jean-Claude and Anita proceeded to fill Asher in on the phone call with Traveler and the strange arrangements they made for the upcoming visit.
“We need to know of this other necromancer, especially one that is on friendly enough of terms with the council that Traveler would request this?” Asher asked the question that had also been plaguing the Jean-Claude and Anita’s minds as well.
“This also leads to another question, why?” Asher watched as they immersed themselves into deep thought over the questions he raised.
“Maybe he is just capitalizing on the offer of friendship you gave.” Jean-Claude looked at Anita trying to rationalize the resent turn of events.
“Maybe, I will pull some strings with some of my contacts in the FBI and use some of my other sources to see what I can find any useful information about him.” Anita already started making her mental notes in her head on who to call. One name that was definitely on that list was Death himself.
Head full of plans for the upcoming phone calls; Anita kissed Jean-Claude and Asher absently on the cheek and started towards the door.
“Can you tell me the name of this necromancer?” Asher watched with amusement as Anita had already unconsciously dismissed them, her head already on the next task at hand. Anita never broke stride going out the door, the answer came before the she was through the door.
“Harry Potter.”
The door clicked softly closed after those words. Asher felt an unexplained shiver run down his spine at the name Anita tossed out to him before she left.
“I will ask those of your Kiss that have just recently come from Europe. Maybe they will have heard something.” Jean-Claude gave Asher a quick nod in agreement and watched Asher also depart.
‘What we getting ourselves into?’ Jean-Claude thought to himself as he sat alone in his office. Still lost in his thoughts, he hoped that all would go well in the days to come.
The days flew by and the information that Anita was able to accrue on this Harry Potter minimal, but what she did find was disturbing and comforting at the same time. Her contact at the FBI told her that Harry just recently joined a special classified task force deep within the FBI. That is all her source could or would say about him. What was unsettling was that her informant refused to answer anymore questions about him. Anita ended up with more questions than answers using this information path.
Her best information came from Edward of all people. He knew exactly who I was asking about offered information for an introduction. Anita had to promise to at least try and set up a meeting before Death would come tell what he knew. Anita could swear someone at sometime warned her about making deals with Death.
Harry James Potter was some sort of mage that had been in a magical war for close to seven years. The final battle on Halloween night last year at a place called Godric’s Hollow. Harry fought on one side of the battlefield and some evil lunatic calling himself Lord Voldermort on the other. The comforting fact came in that Harry Potter fought on the side of ‘Light’ and won against what Edward described “a sick evil fuck”.
The disturbing fact came in when Edward told how skillfully Harry battled his way through his enemies to get to this Voldemort character. What other information Death had on Harry Potter that would compel him to meet him was a mystery.
Edward also informed her how Harry first met Traveler and Belle. The two council members were in w:st="on">London when the Master of the City at the time decided he didn’t want anyone getting in the way of his continuous support of this Voldemort. He hired some of Death’s associates who proceeded to set explosives at all the entrances and the roof to where Belle and Traveler were staying and set them off.
By it being sunny out, the vampires didn’t have any available exits and were slotted to die an extremely painful death. This Harry Potter was in the wrong place at the right time and somehow got them out of the burning building without bringing them out into the sunlight. Edward says that Harry used magic to save them, but it was never any type of magic Anita had heard of.
Anita knew that Edward knew more than what he was saying, but that was just business as usual for him.

The tension was thick in the room Jean-Claude set up for the meeting. The vampires were in their preternatural stillness and the lycanthropes had nervous energy vibrating off them in waves.
Nathaniel in his sheer low cut lilac shirt that showed off the marks I gave him earlier feeding the ardeur. Black low riding leather pants tucked into knee high boots of dark purple rounded off his outfit. Those shades of purple seemed to make his violet his most prominent feature. His hair was in a multitude of complicated braids that weaved their way down his back.
Damien looked lethal in his all black leather outfit ready for battle. His favorite sword was strapped to his back along with an ornate dagger at his waist and its twin strapped to his thigh.
Anita was dressed in all black as well; she put her foot down to wearing a dress for this occasion. Jean-Claude took it upon himself to dress her in the most supple but tight leather pants that hugged her skin like a lover. Her top was a normal looking low cut leather vest in the front, but the back was anything but. Thin ropes of silver made a complicated pattern on her back exposing most of it. Anita knew that they were strictly decorative and not for a specific purpose.
Armed to the max, Anita had her wrist sheaves in place along with her blade going down her back and her favorite guns in their places. Anita felt proud she could accessorize any outfit with the right weapons.
She was also truly impressed with her own style='color:black'>triumvirate; they showed a deadly united front, but Jean-Claude and Asher were truly devastating to behold. They too were dressed in leather that allowed them to give off a sexy but lethal vibe.
Jean-Claude in cream and Asher in tan topped of with long leather trench coats in their respective colors. The colors accentuated and enhanced their ethereal beauty. It made Anita want to purr with appreciation, easily giving her a moment distraction from the tension caused by this meeting.
Everyone took up a position in the room Jean-Claude assigned for the meeting waiting and hoping that the third in our triumvirate would show up as planned. It felt like hours crawled by before Anita and Jean-Claude felt their third approaching.
Flanked by his bodyguards, Jamil and Shang-da, Richard walked through the intricate maze below the Circus of the Damned, following the vampire escort towards the rooms where Jean-Claude and Anita ‘requested’ his presence for this meeting with a member of the Council he knew all too well.
At first Richard was angry at having to attend, but repeatedly reminded himself that his survival is tied to theirs so it would be in his best interest to help when he could. Valiantly calming most of his anger and remorse, Richard mentally prepared himself to not only deal with the Traveler – but Anita and Jean-Claude as well.
Not slowing down, Richard and his entourage entered into the rooms to take their rightful places among the others.

The portal took Harry, Severus and Draco directly to the edge of the wards to Harry’s estate in St. Louis. Magic caressed both Severus and Draco after Harry muttered a brief incantation. “Place a drop of blood on the ground and that should finish keying you both into the wards.”
Harry watched his adopted family prick their fingers with conjured blades, dropping the required blood onto the ground for the magic of the wards to absorb. Draco and Severus saw the once vacant land vanish and enormous black steel gates shimmered into view and silently swung opened when they approached.
A long wide drive guarded by enormous trees on either side seemed to go on for miles, with no sight of any house. Severus turned to Harry and arched his brow in silent question. Harry smiled widely and opened another portal, “I wasn’t going to make you walk the three miles to the house. I just needed to key you into the wards first or else you both would have been in for a nasty shock.”
This caused Severus’ brow to arch even higher at Harry’s statement. Harry herded the three through the portal that brought them to the front courtyard. “The wards I designed for this place are offensive as well as defensive. I had to make sure that it would keep anything and everything I wanted out.”
Harry smiled and gestured towards the mansion standing before them, “So, what do you think of home?” Harry felt proud of this house he had built. Luckily Sirius left him the land that it was built on, so he decided to build this house in memory of his godfather.
After growing up with the Dursleys, Harry found that he liked lots of wide open space, thus the huge mansion with plenty of big rooms, four wings, four stories tall and two towers. The basement was mainly large potions labs but had a very nice wine cellar sectioned off.
“It sort of got away from me when I had it built. I kept thinking of different things I or my family might need and it just got bigger and bigger.” Harry said sheepishly looking down, hoping the hide the slight blush stemming from his embarrassment.
“You did well Potter.” Draco smirked at Harry “Now let’s go inside to see if it is also fit for a Malfoy.”
Severus and Harry rolled their eyes at the airs Draco was putting on. They both knew that he was doing it to ease the embarrassment for Harry. Harry smiled at them and led them both up the steps to the large wooden doors.
Before Harry could open the doors, they flew open and a hyper house elf launched himself at Harry’s legs. “Yous home Master Harry! Winky and Dobby finished doing master’s orders. We’s even bringing more elves like you say.”
Dobby spoke a mile a minute while still holding on to Harry’s leg which caused Harry to chuckle while trying to untangle himself from his strange house elf. “Thank you Dobby. I hope you and Winky did not have to work too hard.”
“Winky and Dobby no mind Great Harry Potter Sir, but we’s take the breaks you saying to.” Dobby finally unlatched himself from Harry’s knees and began bouncing from one leg to another. “I taking your things now. Winky is saying that she has some food ready in the dining hall.”
Dobby steadily bounced while they took the shrinking charms off their trunks and told him where each went. They finally made it into the dining hall for the lunch Winky had ready for them. “I still don’t understand what happened to Dobby Harry. He was my favorite house elf before you tricked my father into freeing him. He never acted this way at the Manor.”
Harry laughed at what Draco said as they sat down and enjoyed a leisurely lunch before touring the rest of the mansion and grounds.
Harry proudly showed them through the house saving his biggest surprise housed on the grounds for last. One of his favorite things about the house was the portal doors. Portal doors were the main doors to the rooms that had a special rune carved on them. All you had to do was touch the rune and think of which room you wanted to go to and when you opened the door it will be the room you wanted. If that room was a private room, then it would take you to the hall right outside that door. The only way to enter that room directly with the portal door was if it was keyed to your magical signature. That was the one feature that impressed his two Slytherins.
Severus and Draco decided that they would rather stay in the same wing of the house as Harry and picked rooms not too far away from each other. Harry was happy they decided this and began calling the wing the ‘family wing’. Severus and Draco just smirked at the Harry antics and followed him towards the rear of the house curious about the surprise Harry had for them.
Exiting the house, they saw four huge greenhouses on the lawns. “The first two have all the common plants that you would use as ingredients. One has nothing but rare plants and the last has plants that have thought to be extinct.”
Severus and Draco’s eyes widened with amazement at the description of what was in the last greenhouse. “How…?” At lost for words and in deep shock, they let Harry guide them into the very greenhouse most would kill to even be privileged to know of them.
Again Harry asked that they donate a drop of blood for the wards surrounding the greenhouse. Now they both were keyed into all the master wards. When Harry opened to door, Severus and Draco were amazed at the magically enlarged greenhouse that looked like it was several acres big. It was sectioned off with the different plants, and each section was labeled along with a history of where it came from and what possible potions it was used for.
Needless to say, the three spent the next two days studying the plants and researching the endless possibilities. It was all too soon when the time came when the Traveler called telling Harry that he was ready to come. Harry agreed to let the Traveler and four of his people to stay at his home. Harry arranged rooms in a separate wing of the house, he enchanted the windows to the rooms to reflect the outside but since they were enchanted, the sunlight did not have any effect on the vampires. Harry just could not imagine not being able to see the sun again.
At the time agreed upon, Harry went to the edge of the wards and opened a portal for his guests. Greeting his guests and he gave them pendants that would allow them to temporarily get by the wards. Harry let the group settle in their wing before they joined him, Severus and Draco in a discussion on what they might expect during their initial meeting with the Triumvirate.
The night finally came for the meeting; Harry, Draco and Severus were dressed in their black dragon hide battle outfits with battle robes that Harry designed over them. The battle robes absorbed the shadows and all curses except for the killing curse. Harry had yet to figure out a way to do that, he might be immune to it but he wanted Severus and Draco to be protected as well.
The only differences in their outfits were the colors of the silk shirts they wore under the dragon hide vests. Draco was in a silvery gray, Severus in black, and Harry in a deep emerald green. With their hoods up, they became immersed in shadows and the robes automatically hid their magical signatures. Harry spent two months coming up with the charms and spells that were woven into the robes.
Opening a portal the group stepped through to the Circus of the Damned entrance. Harry immediately picked up the necromancer’s signature and opened another portal directly inside that room where she was. Allowing the Traveler and his group to precede them, Harry and company brought up the rear placing an extremely strong shield upon them all.
There was an unnatural stillness in the room when they appeared; the only movements were the bodyguards drawing their weapons. Impressively, Anita had hers out and ready before the rest of them.
“Welcome back to St. Louis Traveler.” Jean-Claude said as he gave a respectful bow of his head in his direction.
