Summary: A gorgeous blonde comes to town and Edward feels like his nose is going to twitch right off and bounce along after the yummy goodness. This story will contain boys love, just because it’s the best. That means there will be boy on boy action. So, if you aren’t down with this kind of thing, then please, move on to another story that better suits your refined tastes. This story will also contain some strong language here and there. There will also be some explicit scenes of violence as well. So, sit back and enjoy the ride. Pay no attention to the bumps. They’re just random people being smashed along the road toward greater things. Oh, damn! I just hit a vampire. Shoot! He was sexy, too.
Chapter Two
You drive me crazy
I just can’t sleep
I’m so excited, I’m in too deep
Oh…crazy, but it feels alright
Baby, thinkin’ of you keeps me up all night
--Britney Spears
Edward was sitting on a branch in the large oak tree just outside the blonde’s bedroom window. He had been unable to stop thinking about David ever since he had dropped him off earlier that day. He had never met anyone like David Thorn in all his 100 some years of life.
The blonde was so fiery and his scent teased him like the willow-wisps do lost travelers in the night. No matter how much he wanted to taste the sweet nectar, he knew he couldn’t have it. It would go against what he had fought so hard to control. He would not be so easily defeated because he was attracted to the beautiful boy with the even more beautiful smell.
He peered into the window again, seeing David sprawled out on his bed. He was fast asleep. The covers had been pushed off and he was lying at an angle with his naked shapely feet dangling over the side. His arms were positioned above his head, palms up. Those ice pink lips of his were slightly parted and all he had on was a pair of sleek black cotton pants. Well, at least they looked like cotton. They could have been silk.
He watched and listened to the slow rise and fall of his toned golden chest. He listened to the sound of his beating heart, longing to put his nose to his throat and sniff him in. He wanted to loom over him like the vampires do in the movies and trail his tongue down the honey amber flesh that smelled so damn good.
The smell of him was like a poison paradise. He wanted to touch him but he couldn’t do so. What would his family say? Alice would never let him live it down. Why did David have to be a guy? Did that really matter to him? Eh, he didn’t really know. Hmm, no wonder Rosalie was secretly taking bets that he might actually be gay. But, he liked the girls, too. So, he was more bisexual than anything. Even after 100 years, he still didn’t know a damn thing about himself. No wonder everyone else in his family had a partner and he was always by his lonesome self, sulking in the darkness and moonbeams.
His eyes suddenly widened when the blonde began to talk in his sleep. It made him put his bone white hands up against the window’s smooth glass surface. It was warm against his cold palms.
“Jerk,” the blonde muttered, rolling over onto his stomach, burying his face into his pillow. “Stupid…Ed.”
Edward leaned back, rolling his eyes. Well, he had acted stupid. That was for sure. But, it was for David’s own good. He was dangerous and the blonde needed to stay away from him.
“Hmm,” he mused, smiling with deadly white fangs. “He does have a very nice butt, though.”
He wanted to sneak inside and go through his things. It would be a lot of fun. But, the blonde’s scent might make him lose what little control he did have left. Why did he have to smell so damn good?
He silently growled, jumping down out of the tree, landing on his feet in silence. He took off like a pale blur in the silver moonlight, heading for home. It would be Saturday soon and he wanted to see how David would spend it. So, he prayed to whatever deity answered the prayers of a vampire for it to be cloudy all day.
He kept the magical rhythm of David’s heartbeat in his mind. It was like music. So, he added words in order to complement its drumming beauty.

He had to stay hidden in the shadows because the sun was actually shining. It was just a little after ten and the blonde beauty was drinking some orange juice at the breakfast table.
“Did you sleep well, Sweetheart?” Mrs. Thorn asked, putting her morning paper down.
The blonde nodded, causing Edward to see just how gloomy he looked from his hiding place in the bushes just outside the kitchen window.
“So,” she said, buttering herself a piece of browned toast. “What’s this new friend of yours like?”
Edward saw him tense up a little and pursed his own lips. Here it comes.
“He’s really nice when he wants to be,” David told her, putting his empty glass down. “And he’s weird…just like me.”
Edward cocked a brow. Weird? Him? No way! He was made of awesome! Everyone said so! The mirror, too!
“A boy?” Mrs. Thorn asked, putting her toast down on her plate. “I want you to be careful, David.”
David nodded. “I will. Where’s Granny?”
“She went to the local Seniors Club,” she said, getting to her feet, walking over, and opened up the dishwasher. “There is no point in her sitting around here for the rest of her life.”
David frowned. “I’m sorry.”
Edward blinked. He was sorry? What was he sorry for? What did he do? He didn’t do anything to be sorry for!
“Stop doing that.” David’s mother ordered, looking at him. “What happened was not your fault. Why don’t you go get dressed, call your new friend, and go have some fun out back in the woods? I’m sure there are all kinds of interesting things to discover out there in the green.”
Edward didn’t understand and he couldn’t feel the emotion that flickered across the blonde’s beautiful golden-amber face. It really bugged him. What was this guy? Why couldn’t he read him?
“I just want you to be careful,” Mrs. Thorn advised, loading the breakfast dishes into the washer one at a time. “Use your cell phone if you need me or if you and your friend decide to go do something more teen like.”
“All right,” David said, getting to his feet, only to turn around in the doorway leading out of the kitchen. “I love you.”
“I do you, too.” Mrs. Thorn said.
Edward wished he could see his face, but, he couldn’t. He just watched the blonde leave the room.
What in the world had all that been about? He looked up at the sun-filled sky, cursing the deity who had the sun shining down ever so brightly. How was he going to trail the blonde now? It would be odd if the locals started reporting sightings of a shiny white blur.
He ducked down, sitting cross-legged in the bushes. Perhaps he should have thought this through better.
“Bye, Mom!” David shouted about half an hour later and Edward looked up when a door slammed. He parted the bush, peeked out, seeing the blonde jump off the porch steps, and race off into the trees behind the house.
“Sweet,” Edward whispered. “There will be lots of cover in there.”
But, he was upset. David had not called him. Oh, that’s right! He had not given the blonde his cell number.
He ever so silently stalked the blonde for what felt like hours. The forest was dark, so the sun wasn’t going to be a problem.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have yelled at him,” David muttered, kicking a loose stone. “This would probably be a lot more exciting if he were actually here.”
Edward smiled. Well, that was a good sign.
The blonde stopped in front of what looked to be a circle of four trees. Edward silently darted behind a tree, peeking around at him.
“Hmm,” the blonde said, walking around the four massive trees that made a perfect circle with their entwined roots which were covered in green moss. “I wonder if faeries dance here.”
Edward snorted and quickly ducked his head back around when the blonde spun around, facing his hiding spot.
“Who’s there?” David shouted.
Edward bit his bottom lip. That had been careless of him. He looked up, seeing a squirrel. He snatched it like a snake does a baby bird and chucked it out. The scared little thing ran right past the sighing blonde. That had been a close one.
“Ash, oak, birch, and yew,” David said, walking around the circle. “I wonder if the fey will steal me away should I step inside.”
“Maybe I will,” Edward said in a really deep voice. He looked to see that David was frozen with wide beautiful eyes. He snickered. Oh, this was fun. He simply had to play with him now.
“Go on,” Edward cooed from the bush in a creamy smooth tone from directly behind the blonde now, causing him to spin around again. “I’ll take you away.”
He moved his head to the side when a rock went zooming by his right eye. Hmm, blondes have really good aim.
“Come out now!” David yelled in warning, slowly backing away from the bush. “I know just enough karate to really hurt you!”
Edward chuckled and it was like deep running water. He had such a beautiful voice.
“Gotcha!” Edward shouted, poking the blonde in the back.
David yelped in fright, spinning around with a flying-roundhouse-kick.
Edward snatched his ankle before the kick could land. He had just stopped the blonde an inch from breaking his foot. He looked into those outraged blue-green eyes and the scent from that amber skin was tantalizing. The blonde was breathing super hard.
“You jerk!” David shouted. He pulled on his foot that was an inch from Edward’s left cheekbone. “Let me go now!”
Edward did so and the blonde stumbled backwards, catching his balance with surprising grace.
“That was a really stupid thing to do!” David roared, balling his fists in rage. “What if I had had a gun, huh?”
Edward smiled. “Well, considering if you knew how to take the safety off, I might have a hole in my gorgeous face.”
“You think!” David snapped, and then looked confused. “Do you know karate?”
Edward nodded. “I know just enough to hurt someone and myself in the process.”
“You really had me freaking out,” David said, rubbing his neck. “How did you move around so fast like that?”
“Training,” Edward told him honestly, ignoring how the blonde’s pulse was hammering way from within his sexy neck. He smelled even more divine when frightened.
“Wait,” David said, glaring poisonous green daggers at him. “What are you doing here? Have you been following me?”
Edward pulled a candy bar from out of his pocket, twirling it around in his hand.
“I wanted to apologize for my rude behavior yesterday,” he told him, holding it out for him to take. “And yes I did follow you. We have bears and mountain lions here.”
“You brought me candy,” David said, snatching the candy bar from him and sniffed it. “I can take care of myself.”
“I can see that,” he said, actually quiet impressed with the blonde.
David’s look turned sheepish as he looked up from his yummy goodness. It was a Hershey Bar. “Did I hurt your hand?”
Edward shook his head. “No.”
“Good!” David snapped, tearing open the silver wrapper. “Because I’m not sorry, you jerk!”
Edward laughed when the blonde bit into the milky chocolate with angry bites. “I’m really beginning to like you more and more.”
“Uh huh,” David said, rolling his eyes, and licking his lips. “Shouldn’t you be avoiding me like the plague or some natural disaster?”
“I should be,” Edward said and the honesty was very evident in his husky voice. The blonde really shouldn’t have licked his lips like that. “But, I don’t think I can.”
David cocked an almost white brow. “You really are a mystery.”
“Wrapped up in a riddle?” Edward asked.
“And sprinkled in enigma,” David added, taking another bite of his yummy chocolate.
“Now you’re just making me sound like I’m drowning in cliché,” Edward said, putting his hands on his hips.
“That too,” David nodded, putting a hand to the side of his mouth, shouting. “WE HAVE A FLOATER!”
Edward laughed. “That’s not funny at all.”
“Oh, but clearly it is,” David told him.
Edward shook his head, looking up at the trees when the wind began to blow. He could smell rain on the air. That was a very good sign.
“What are you doing today?” He asked.
“Getting picked on it looks like,” the blonde said. “Why do you ask?”
Edward shrugged. “Would you like to hang out with me and bask in my cool flame of awesomeness?”
“That sounds really cool!” David said in nails on chalkboard sarcasm, jumping up and down, clapping his hands in false excitement. “I’m so excited! But, wait! I’m not worthy.”
Edward’s face suddenly turned cold and frosty. “I’m being serious. Would you like to hang out with me?”
“Are you sure that’s such a good idea?” David asked him in all seriousness. “Aren’t you too dangerous for little old me?”
Edward snarled, causing the teen to back up with wide eyes. He advanced on David until the blonde’s back was up against the wide trunk of the old ash tree. He put both palms up on the trunk, trapping him in between his powerful arms.
“What are you doing?” David growled angrily, looking down. “You made me drop my chocolate.”
Edward put his mouth to his smooth honey-amber throat, sniffing him like he was a rose. Oh, but he was far sweeter than any rose.
David’s eyes were wide with shock. They were suddenly so blue they made the sky above which was hidden by the trees pale in comparison.
“Edward?” David asked in a quivering voice. “What are you doing?”
“I don’t know,” Edward whispered against his throat like a silver breeze which was scented with honeysuckle. His ruby red tongue was licking the blonde’s trembling pulse. “But, I do know that I really like you.”
David gasped when Edward placed a chaste kiss on his smooth cheek. The vampire could feel the goose bumps that had broken out on that apple scented golden flesh. It only excited him more and more.
“Is my liking you a problem?” Edward asked him, peering into his magical blue eyes.
He felt the blonde place his hands on his marble hard chest, gripping his sweater as if it were a lifeline. He really should stop himself now. It would be bad if he scared him to death.
“Why?” David asked. “Why do you like me? You don’t even know me.”
“True,” Edward said, gently caressing those petal pink lips that reminded him of falling cherry blossoms. “But you’re funny, sarcastic, fiery, intelligent, and you’re really beautiful to me.”
Those blue eyes were wider than the sky above their heads.
“Plus,” Edward smiled and it was dazzlingly crooked with wickedness. “You smell so very good, too.”
The blonde trembled.
“You’re shaking,” Edward cooed, stroking his fingers through that curly golden lion mane of his. “Am I finally scaring you or are you cold?”
David shivered. “I’m cold.”
“Liar,” Edward chuckled, caressing a golden-amber cheek which was smoother than honey in the sunshine.
“Maybe,” David whispered with locked eyes. “Maybe not.”
Edward pulled away from him, smiling with radiant ruby red lips. He had done it. He had not lost his control. He was so proud of himself. He was so made of awesome.
“Come on,” he said, holding out his smooth white hand for David to take. “Let’s go for a ride.”
“I, uh,” David said, looking around as if lost, putting his hand to his cheek. They were burning like a golden amber rose. “My first kiss…”
Edward snorted and then his eyes turned warm. “Are you serious?”
David nodded, looking at him. “I need to tell my mom what we’re doing.”
“Sure,” Edward smirked. “I’d love to meet her and shake her hand.”
The look on David’s face had him snickering. He was so funny.
“Are we…” David tried to ask, but Edward guessed his voice had skipped off to go wrestle with a putty-tat.
“I don’t know,” Edward smiled, shaking his pale fingers at him. “Take my hand and we’ll test it out.”
He loved the feel of David’s hand in his own. It felt so alien, but it felt so right, too. He didn’t care if David was a guy. Human social norms didn’t apply to him. He wasn’t human and he was definitely not normal.
“Well?” Edward asked him. “Pretty smooth ride so far, huh?”
“We’re not even on the road yet,” David said, rolling his eyes. “Idiot.”
Edward laughed. He felt happy and sad at the same time. It looked like Alice had been right. David had pricked him. David Thorn had pricked him good.
Didn’t David mean beloved? He thought it seemed very appropriate. Beloved Thorn. He liked it.
“Mom,” David said. “This is my friend, Edward Cullen.”
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Thorn,” Edward said with a bewitchingly crooked smile on his dazzlingly handsome face. “I would like to show David around town, if that’s all right with you.”
