After getting the ok from our landlord we moved Harry's things into our apartment the night before we left. Harry had already put in a bid for a summer term dorm, but we had been seriously discussing moving him into our apartment for fall term; I decided I wanted the matter settled before we left. After a quick call to the landlord, it was agreed that we would upgrade to a two bedroom and use the second room as a study. The landlord told us about a really nice two bedroom, two and a half bath townhouse a half mile away. It was about the same distance from campus, had laundry hookups, and it had nearly three times the square footage of our current apartment. It was currently being painted and having the parquet floors refinished, as well as some plumbing upgrading and new appliance instillation, but it would be ready for occupancy a week and a half before the semester started. Since that was a few days before the lease was up on this place he agreed to hold it until we came to renew; he said that Harry could just stop by anytime and give his information to be put on our lease so there was less paperwork when we moved.
I gave Harry my key to the apartment, and the keys to my Camaro. He accepted with grace, recognizing my inflexibility on this matter (and the fact that I'd put him on the insurance already); he kissed me softly in thanks. It was the first time we'd ever kissed on the lips, and it made me smile. He saw us to the airport the next day, kissing Emmett and I goodbye without caring about the sensibilities of the other travelers; he cared for us and didn't want us to have any doubts that we would be missed. When the plane touched down in Seattle I nearly ignored the safety warnings and turned my phone back on. Emmett wasn't much better but we managed to get off the plane before exchanging a look and grabbing for our phones; I told him I'd call Kristen (who should have annoyed Harry for lunch several hours earlier) and he should call Harry, then we'd just switch phones. He didn't bother to answer, already pulling up our boyfriend's number.Kristen assured me that Harry had eaten without a fuss, and had even been watching his way through the first season of Charmed again when she arrived. She mentioned that he seemed a little sad, but he wasn't wallowing in it or anything; he'd invited her and the three other groupies that had summer classes to come for dinner that night. She promised to keep an eye on everyone and make sure nothing went missing (I wasn't worried about that because everything with sentimental value was in Forks, but I appreciated the gesture). About then Emmett caught my gaze and motioned toward my phone; saying goodbye, and to expect the transfer, I handed my phone to my husband and all but snatched his."Hey, Harry!"I could hear the smile in his voice when he answered."Hey, babe. How was your trip?"He'd picked up calling me 'babe' from Emmett, just as he'd picked up calling Emmett 'dear' from me. We both called Harry 'ducky', which I'd gotten from Hermione."Not bad, ducky, but it's only been a few hours and I miss you already."That sounded sappy and whining even to me, and it made Harry laugh just as I'd intended."I miss you too, babe. Emmett won't tell me; did you have to use the duct tape?"I laughed at that, remembering the conversation two weeks earlier during which I threatened to duct tape my husband's mouth shut if he didn't shut it himself. Two days later Harry had presented me with a roll of the gray stuff for our trip home, joking that Emmett was likely to talk the whole way."No, he was pretty well behaved. I'm keeping it for the trip back."Harry laughed again, and we talked about nothing important for the next ten minutes. Finally I could hear Harry sigh with clear regret."You should probably go; your Mum's waiting, isn't she?"I had forgotten all about Esme waiting at baggage claim; she was most likely making herself sick with worry. I sighed in response, my unwillingness clear. Harry spoke soothing words of affection and dedication that made me feel better, so I said my farewells and handed the phone back to Emmett for one last goodbye. When we reached Esme, she was frantic with worry and started peppering us with questions about the trouble we must have had. I watched my husband grin sheepishly."Honestly, Mom? We got on our phones and just stopped walking."He sounded every inch the college student home after his first year away, and Esme rolled her eyes and huffed in fond exasperation exactly as we'd intended. I pretended not to notice the knowing looks being shot at us from people who obviously had college kids of their own. We gathered our luggage while she fussed at us about a welcome home party Alice was throwing 'just for the family', which unfortunately included Edward's insufferable girlfriend. They'd been a serious couple now for a year and a half and all I saw was a whiny little thing who expected her dreams to be handed to her on a silver platter without any effort on her part whatsoever; the family thought I didn't like her for being human, and I intended to prove that false. We arrived home in a whirl of hugs and gifts, Jasper whisking our luggage to our room while Alice dragged us to the living room where Edward stood almost defiantly over Bella, as though daring us to object. We did object-this was supposed to be a party for us, and we didn't want her there-but it wasn't worth the drama that would ensue, causing us to miss our planned phone call from Harry. I decided to just ignore the corner Edward and Bella were in all together and turned to face Carlisle as he came up to greet us in his quiet way."Emmett, Rosalie, its good to have you home."Ignoring the fact that I've always been rather standoffish, I practically threw myself into his arms with a squeal the way my human friends would have."Daddy! Oh my gosh, I've missed you!"The odd looks I got when I pulled away amused me, and I stepped back so that Emmett could greet Carlisle as well."Hey, Dad."Emmett wrapped our bemused father in a hug, squeezing gently before letting him go and stepping back to stand beside me. Jasper smirked at us."Ok, what's going on?"I laughed a bright happy laugh that took most of the room by surprise, but it was Emmett who answered."We got to talking at the beginning of the year about our trips through college and we realized something very important. We always go for the learning experience; we've never really gone for the college experience that humans talk about. We're still getting good grades, but we're making sure to experience everything else college has to offer."Just then my phone rang and I pulled it out without thinking."Hello?""Hey, Hippie Girl, its Hermione."I laughed again at the name Hermione's mother called me; when Mi introduced me as Rose, her mother asked if mine were hippies because I'd been named after a flower."Hey, Mi. What's up?""I got you presents.""I love presents.""I know.""I hate that the time zones are so different! How was your flight? I didn't get a chance to call before I had to catch my own!"Mi laughed, and I could hear an owl in the background. I wondered where she was, but promptly dismissed the thought in favor of gossiping with my friend."I used the duct tape. How was yours?"I burst into laughter of my own, and had to calm myself before I could answer."I didn't.""What? You mean Emmett actually behaved himself? That's impossible!"Emmett shot a mock offended look at my phone and shouted."Hey!"Mi and I laughed, and I could hear various members of my family snickering in the background. After a few moments Mi got around to the reason she'd actually called."Anyway, I'm headed into London tomorrow morning with my Mum. I want to send your presents but I wasn't sure if you'd rather I sent them to the apartment and have Harry sign for them or if you want me to send them to you. In the box I've got about a hundred of those sweets Harry told you about."Translated, that meant that Hermione was sending me Blood Pops; I'd wanted to try them since I heard of them, so I gave her my address in Forks. She assured me that she'd already spoken to the shopkeeper at Honeyduke's and if we liked them a long distance delivery system could be arranged. She'd also told him that we were vegetarians, and he promised to up his production of those 'flavors'. Apparently there were a lot more vegetarian Vampires in the world than we'd realized. After a few more minutes of conversation I exchanged pleasantries with Dr. and Dr. Granger, then Mi and I disconnected. I looked up to see my family staring at me in varying degrees of confusion."What?"Without thinking, I adopted the innocent facade I used on the staff at the school library when the entourage wanted to stay after hours; Alice ended up snorting, trying to hold in her laughter."Oh, yeah. You're definitely getting the full college experience."After I'd been suitably teased Carlisle asked why my friend sounded British. I gave him an odd look."Because she's British?"I could hear Alice choking on her laughter at the way my incredulity at the question turned my answer into one as well, but I ignored it in favor of staring at Carlisle like he'd lost his mind. Everyone else started snickering as well, but Esme was the first person to giggle outright. I shot her a quick grin and a wink before turning a puzzled expression back on Carlisle. That was it; the entire family completely lost it, laughing themselves silly at my uncharacteristic behavior. I made a motion as though dusting off my hands."My work here is finished."That set them off even more, so I made a grand exit and went to my room; Emmett wasn't far behind me.It wasn't until the next day that anyone thought to ask me what kind of candy Mi was sending me, and I answered without thinking."Blood Pops."In my defense, I was working on an algorithm that had been driving me nuts for the whole spring semester so I didn't pay that much attention to the question. It was the silence that caught my attention and I looked up from my notes."What?"Emmett was playing some suitably violent videogame, but everyone else was staring at me (even Bella, who apparently spent her every waking hour with my family). Finally Edward spoke."What are Blood Pops?"I shrugged, turning my attention back to my algorithm."Vampire candy. Harry told me about them, so I asked Mi. She's never tried them but Harry likes them and they make them in vegetarian flavors so she's sending us a bunch."This time it was Carlisle who spoke."Harry is a Vampire."Emmett snorted while I settled for looking at Carlisle like he was crazy again."No, Harry is a Wizard with way too much curiosity. He ate the Acid Pops!"Emmett snorted again."Yeah, but then he just stuck a barbell through the hole in his tongue and called it a piercing."I laughed, remembering the first time Harry had gone down on Emmett after that; I think the whole town heard it. Jasper shot a confused look at Emmett's back, telling me that Emmett was probably remembering it, too. Carlisle got the conversation back on track."So you go to school with a Wizard? Two I guess, if Mi is one as well."Emmett snorted again, and this time I joined him."Actually, Dad, there's about thirty of them. They're called the Entourage. We started hanging out with them in early November."Carlisle blinked several times, a sign that his mind was working. I tried to turn back to my notes but Alice spoke up."You know, we've all been accepted to MIT next year. Do you think we should go?"Emmett shut off his game and came to join the conversation."The classes are fascinating and the teachers are really good. The dorms are pretty nice, and our landlord has good rates on his rental units. Our friends are a pretty diverse bunch, and I know that there are at least three Freshmen coming in that went to school with the Entourage. There are pretty strict rules in the Entourage, though."Bella spoke up."Like what?"I let Emmett continue, trusting him to make our family and Bella understand."Like don't ask Harry for his autograph, don't take Harry's picture without his permission, don't touch Harry without his consent, if you end up accidentally getting someone's hair or blood or something on you then you must set it on fire or return it immediately, under no circumstances is it funny to pretend to burn someone at the stake. Things that make more sense to Wizards than to us, but these are very strict rules. The Entourage is very protective of Harry."I noticed an odd look on Carlisle's face-complete shock-so I waved Emmett silent and waited. Finally Carlisle asked the question I could see in his eyes."Harry Potter?"Emmett and I both nodded solemnly, glad that Carlisle could take over that explanation. He did, but it annoyed me; he told the story of The Boy Who Lived, not Harry Potter. I could see that it annoyed Emmett, as well, so I picked up my phone and sent a text message. While Carlisle fielded questions from the family, I awaited a reply; when it came I showed the thread to Emmett, who beamed his beautiful smile at me. That was when I noticed Edward looking at us oddly. I adopted my innocent facade again."What?"That caught everyone's attention; Edward blinked and looked sheepish."It's just that...I have no idea what you're thinking, I don't think. Well, what I mean is what I'm hearing doesn't seem to match up to what the two of you are doing. I've never noticed that before."I turned a smirk on my now smirking husband."Damn, we've been caught."Emmett nodded solemnly."Only took sixty years, too. Clearly we need a better plan."Shock was written clearly on everyone's faces, and I took a moment to revel in it before explaining."Once I realized that Edward could hear my mind, I started keeping a surface layer of thoughts that made me seem to be exactly as his preconception told him I would be. No offense, Ed, but I used the fact that you were from a well-to-do family against you."His mouth fell open, but Carlisle asked me to explain."It's really simple, actually. I noticed that Edward had a bit of a superiority complex; nothing negative, just the result of coming from a high class family. I had the same thing, so I knew how to wield it as a weapon. Edward subconsciously expected me to be a social climber from the class below his and I adapted my thoughts accordingly. It took a couple of years to get my surface thoughts steady without needing to concentrate on it all the time, and now it's routine. I taught Emmett when he came to live with us."Emmett nodded, still smirking."You expected me to be a dumb jock. I worked with it."I turned to Alice seriously."You keep him out the most often out of the rest of the family, but you make it too obvious that you're hiding something; no one recites the Qur'an in Cherokee."My family was looking at me in awe, as they rightly should; that awe grew when Edward told them that all he could hear was lists of parts I needed for the Mustang I was planning to refurbish and criticisms of people's clothing (he didn't say Bella's, but he should have). After awhile Emmett drew the attention back to our previous conversation."About Harry."That caught everyone's attention, and they turned to Emmett attentively."Harry is dating a couple. Everyone in the Entourage is very supportive of this because of Harry's history. Even the groupies think it's 'so terribly romantic, sigh'."I snickered at Emmett's impersonation of one groupie who followed us around with big, starry eyes and melodramatic sighs. She annoyed the hell out of Harry, but Emmett and I found her terribly amusing."Do they treat him well?"Carlisle didn't disappoint me; I'd known I could count on him to be the most understanding, despite being the oldest of us all."They practically worship the ground he walks on, which he finds very annoying. He, in turn, keeps them grounded and reminds them that no matter what else they might be, they are still human underneath it all."I phrased my response carefully, not wanting to get into the argument I knew would be coming; I hoped to put it off until the end of the summer, if possible. Emmett had no such compunctions; he snorted."Please. He skips meals and tries to get by on two hours of sleep every two days; he also drinks an insane amount of coffee just to function."Carlisle looked alarmed, but Emmett continued before our father could start his rant about proper rest and well balanced meals and the many evils of caffeine."His boyfriend and girlfriend call him on it. They also steal his homework so he'll take a day off once in awhile; that boy's running himself into the ground. They haul him off to eat every chance they get, if they're hungry or not, and they pretty much drag him to bed when they're going."Carlisle sighed in relief, but now Jasper was looked between Emmett and I suspiciously. I sighed very quietly, knowing my quiet summer was pretty much over; I bit the proverbial bullet."We really care about him, and we'd like you to meet him at some point."Emmett took my hand, quietly presenting a united front. Carlisle's eyes widened momentarily but then he was smiling that gently accepting smile of his. Esme squealed softly, clasping her hands together and bouncing on the soles of her feet; even having never met him, Esme loved our Harry simply because we did. Alice and Jasper didn't seem to know how they felt, but they weren't rejecting the idea out of hand; there was hope. I was not surprised by the disgust and anger on Edward's face, or the fact that it was mirrored on Bella's (the disgust, anyway). Jasper opened his mouth to ask a question, no doubt trying to get more information before making a decision, but Edward cut him off angrily."So it's ok for you to date a human but you hate Bella because of it?"I sighed, rolling my eyes; Emmett did the same."I don't hate the fact that Bella's human. I don't even hate Bella, that's the wrong word. I just dislike and despise her as a person based on what I've seen of her personality with my own two eyes."Emmett looked Edward in the eye seriously, who seemed surprised by my words."Don't forget that we've fed you what you've wanted to hear for sixty years, Ed. Nothing you think you know about us from our minds is true."I took over again, wanting to set the record straight."Then you took what we fed you and spread it to everyone else. The only people in this entire world who actually know me are Emmett and Harry, and that's because they met me before they met you. Anytime I start to show a little bit of my true self you come running in with what you're hearing in my head."Emmett echoed my sentiments, and Edward looked stricken at the thought of causing so many years of distress. Bella spoke up."That doesn't change the fact that what you're doing is wrong. You shouldn't be dating two people; it's a sin."I huffed at her and rolled my eyes."So is murder, but holy wars break out in the name of God all the time. Plus what people consider sins are based on the bible, which the Vatican has admitted to having altered in order to suit the political agenda of the Roman Catholic church. They even admitted to destroying large portions of the original writings so that no one could discover the truth."Bella looked ready to argue, but the rest of the family remembered the uproar when that came out and reassured her that it was true. She seemed surprised, but like a dog with a bone she started in again on the wrongness of our relationship with Harry. Finally Emmett had enough."It's called Polyfidelity, and it's perfectly legal. If you want to get technical, Rosalie's relationship with Harry is purely emotional. I'm the one who has a physical relationship with him."That started her in on the sin of homosexuality, but Carlisle and Edward shut her up quickly; our family knew that love could never be a sin. Everyone contemplated what we'd told them for awhile, then Esme spoke up."Tell us about him."I got the feeling that she didn't mean The Boy Who Lived, so I started talking about his strange fascination with shiny things and how he insisted that Charmed was a sitcom. Emmett chimed in with things like his favorite food, and how he hummed when he made lists (which he did constantly). We went back and forth, fairly gushing random facts about this man they'd never met. After about twenty minutes Jasper cut us off gently."You don't just care about him. You both really love him; as much as you love each other."I turned to meet Emmett's soft smile with one of my own."Yeah, we do."Just like that Alice and Jasper were fully behind us, and Edward was well on his way.**
The boxes from Hermione (sneaky Witch only told me about one) arrived on our fourth day home, late in the morning. I signed for the delivery, letting the deliver man stack them in the hall. Once he was gone I grabbed them all and called for Emmett on my way to the living room; I wanted to have the Blood Pops in a central location for the family to decide if we wanted to have regular deliveries. Soon the whole family was gathered except Carlisle, who was at work. Even Bella was there, though she'd lost a great deal of favor in this household by not giving up her campaign to end the relationship Emmett and I had with Harry.
"Well, open them up, babe."I rolled my eyes at Emmett, who was grinning at me like the idiot he pretended to be, and set the stack of boxes on the coffee table. Everyone sat around it (except Bella, who sat on the sofa ready to run if the smell of the candy made her sick) and waited while I carefully cut the packing tape with my keys and set them side by side. When I finally had it open, I laughed brightly at Hermione's ingenuity; instead of packing peanuts, she'd picked up several designer dresses from Harrods with the money I'd given her and used those to protect everything else.I handed some of the clothing to Esme and Alice, depending on the size, and set my own to the side; never let it be said I did not think of my family. As I unfolded or unrolled the expensive clothing I pulled whatever it was protecting out and set it on the table. There were books on Vampire physiology that Emmett had asked for, catalogs on Wizard fashion that I'd asked for, books on history for Jasper and examples of Wizard music for Edward. There were tasteful knickknacks with Housekeeping Charms built into them for Esme, books on Magical Healing for Carlisle, and books on the Magical properties of stones for Alice's newest fad. There were dozens of things Emmett and I had asked for and several things Hermione had thought that Emmett or I might like or find a use for. At the bottom of on box we found boxes and boxes of Blood Pops, each with the name of a Magical animal written on the lid. Underneath the contents of another sat two presents, wrapped in pretty paper that had dancing sparkling stars. One was addressed to Emmett and the other to me; since Emmett couldn't remember his birthday, we always celebrated it with mine. There were stern notes on them both not to open until our birthday. When we were finished we started at the boxes of Blood Pops, each silently hoping someone else would go first. Emmett was the bravest of us all, reaching for a box marked Chimera. He opened it and took out with looked like a regular purple sucker, which he unwrapped quickly; the smell was anything but normal."Oh, my gosh I want one!"I lunged for the box in my husband's hand; that sucker smelled like the most succulent...I couldn't really remember a human food to compare it to, but it smelled way better than our normal predators! Soon Emmett and I were moaning over the taste of our lollipops, which gave the others the courage to try one. Jasper opted for Centaur, while Edward and Alice went after a box marked Cerebus; I was more than willing to let them have blood from a dog. And this was blood, but there was something different to it as well; I remarked on that, trying to figure it out while Esme reached an uncertain hand to a small box that read 'For Esme'. There was a similar box labeled 'For Carlisle', and since I knew Harry had taken Hermione aside before she left for home, I assumed these were gifts from my boyfriend to my parents; the thought made me happy.Emmett encouraged her to open it, and I leaned forward eagerly to see what was inside. There were two suckers inside; one was a liquid silver and the other a liquid gold. Esme tilted the lid back and read what was written there.**
Three weeks later I got a phone call from a very frustrated Kristen. I answered with a friendly hello. She shouted at me.
"How do you put up with him?"I stared at my phone for a moment before turning to Emmett."What's wrong, Kristen?"Emmett was at my side in an instant, straining to hear her answer. The rest of the family went silent to make sure there were no problems with their newest member."I just saw his course schedule for this term! Do you know what he did?"I sighed and closed my eyes, fairly certain that I didn't actually want to know what he did. Emmett rubbed my back comfortingly."What did he do this time?"She let out a short scream of frustration."That idiot has a max hour course load, plus he's signed up for every single one of the zero hour seminars!"My eyes snapped open and Emmett snatched my phone before I could crush it in my anger; Jasper told me later that it wasn't really anger at all, just frustration, worry and love all condensed into a white hot seething mass of emotion."Hey, Krissy. Listen, next time Harry does something this stupid call my phone, ok? It's cheaper to replace. Let me calm her down, we'll think of something and call you back."I heard her agree and say something about hitting up the massage therapy school. I grabbed the phone from Emmett before he could stop me."Go to the spa downtown. I have an account; I'll call and put you on it. Get whatever you want. In fact, make a standing appointment for every week because something tells me you're going to need it with this idiot. I think I might need a favor and I'll send you an email, but don't worry about it until after the spa because I'm going to tell them you'll be there in the next half hour."She argued but quickly gave in when she realized how angry I was. We disconnected and I dialed up the spa quickly, telling them what I wanted; this spa was very exclusive, so I had no trouble telling them I expected this close personal friend of mine was getting a full relaxation and glamor package on my account, with relaxation and glamor maintenance every week. They gave me a code, which I texted Kristen, and I turned my mind to other matters. There was no way I could get Harry to reduce his course load; it was required for a double major. I moved to the living room and dropped onto the floor cross-legged, pulling my laptop from under the coffee table, and logged into the school website to check the seminar schedule."Damn it, Emmett, he doesn't even need at least a third of these seminars! They don't apply to his majors or his minors!"Emmett squatted down behind me to read over my shoulder. He sighed, dropping his head on my shoulder."This is the last time he is allowed to do a seminar bid unattended."I heard Jasper and Alice snickering, but Esme seemed to understand."I'll make up some dried fruit with homemade granola he can keep in his bag."Emmett and I both gave her a small smile and thanked her, our voices tired. Alice danced over, reading the list carefully and bouncing toward the stairs."That makes so much more sense now!"Jasper looked at us and shrugged, but made his way over as well. When he read the list he figured out Alice's cryptic comment. Pointing over my unoccupied shoulder, he indicated nearly a quarter of the titles."Alice has taken all of these, and you know how she takes notes."Everyone snorted; Alice wrote in shorthand so that she could transcribe the lecture word for word. Sure Harry would still need to attend the lectures or get an academic demerit, but this would help him out. Then Jasper pointed to several more names on the screen."I attended these three, and this one on the complete life of Ada Lovelace is supposed to be almost word for word from the biography I've got on her."With that Jasper was headed toward the stairs. As I watched my family pull together for a boy they'd never met I wanted to cry tears of great joy; some people got families that helped one another but hesitated to extend their generosity beyond that. This family that I had chosen was so much greater then them; not because we were Vampires or because we had scads of money. My family was greater because they cared enough to be.**
It was Esme's idea; the maternal Vampire could be quite sneaky, taking most of us by surprise. We went out to hunt two weeks before the end of summer term and came home to find ourselves packed for college, plane tickets for the entire family on our dining room table. Emmett and I were given strict instructions not to tell Harry we were coming(who had actually cried when he received our package full of old seminar notes, stuttering out his thanks and raving over Esme's granola). Charlie Swan had agreed that Bella could travel with us, and had packed a bag for her in secret. Everything else he was taking to UPS for Esme in the morning; it was already packed in a truck that she'd purchased over the past year for gardening supplies.
When we got to town Emmett and I led the way to our apartment, knowing that Harry had class and since it was crunch time he would not miss it for the world. I honestly expected things to be a bit messy, if not completely trashed, and had accepted that; between Harry's schedule and Kristen trying to keep up with Harry's eating and study habits no one with regular access really had the time to clean. It was spotless, and I actually got angry at Harry for a moment for taking time away from sleep to clean. Esme had all but filled a hotel with reservations about twenty minutes away but Emmett and I were staying here with Harry; she'd booked a room just in case, but had honestly expected that. I showed everyone around, noticing in the bedroom at least one thing Harry had let go; he was wearing Emmett's shirts because he was seriously behind on laundry. That made me feel better somehow.Jasper loved our apartment, and Alice seemed to like it as well, so I offered to call the landlord and set up an appointment. They exchanged a look and agreed; the landlord laughed and told me to just bring them when we signed the new lease and he'd give them the one we had now for immediate move in so long as nothing needed to be repaired. We invited him to walk through unannounced in the next few weeks and he agreed so we got off the phone and Jasper nearly bounced his way through the living room, verbally decorating. Alice followed no less excitedly, chiming in with her suggestions.Esme was looking through the kitchen cabinets and the fridge in agitation when I poked my head in that direction."What's wrong, Mom?"Emmett and I had taken to calling her mom to our friends and hadn't seen a reason to stop; she loved it so much that everyone else started doing it as well. She turned to me with a worried frown."Ramen noodles, popcorn, candy, coffee, and energy drinks are not enough for a growing boy."I joined her, sighing as I closed the fridge. I knew Kristen was doing her best, but sometimes Harry was such a moron. How did he expect to do his best on pure sugar, carbohydrates, and caffeine? He was going for a double minor on his Biotechnology in microbiology and biological chemistry; he should know he needed complex proteins, iron, and a good array of vitamins! I grabbed the garbage can while Esme made a grocery list; this crap had to go.I kept the coffee; I'm not heartless.**
I was in the perfect position to see Harry's face when he walked in and saw a mass of Vampires scattered around the living room. He blinked a few times as everyone went quiet, shut the door, looked over the assembly, then pointed at Bella.
"You're human, so you must be Bella. As for the rest of you I'm sorry but you've got me at a loss."He was polite and charming, but he looked exhausted. He kissed Alice, Bella, and Esme's hands like the true British Gentleman he was. He greeted my father and brothers with dignity and respect. He answered everyone's questions about classes, the town, and the campus itself with the right amount of enthusiasm.I could see that he was exhausted, so after about ten minutes (during which my family didn't even let Emmett or I greet him) I darted forward and took his laptop bag, heading toward the bedroom."Wait, I need that, babe."Excusing himself quickly, he ran after me; I could hear Emmett following close behind. When Harry got to the room it was to see me putting the bag on the top shelf of the closet; our code for 'day off'."Come on, Rosalie! Finals start day after tomorrow. I need to study."I spun around, crossed my arms, and glared at him while Emmett shut the door."What don't you already know forward and backward? Tell me what you're shaky on and I'll help you with that, Harry! Otherwise you need a day off and damned if it's not going to be tomorrow so you're rested for your finals!"Harry glared at me in return before sighing in defeat. Gesturing toward the bag he spoke."My study guides are color coded. Anything I'm feeling weak on is yellow."Emmett was still by the door, letting me have my way, so I reached up and pulled Harry's bag back down. Instead of trying to pull out the materials himself, Harry led me on a verbal tour of his current organizational system (which was similar to what he'd used last semester). I pulled out his study guides and looked them over. There was very little yellow, which I was happy to see, and some of this was stuff I already knew."Alright, we'll go over this tonight after dinner. Tomorrow we are going to relax, maybe spend the day with the family but I don't know what the plan is yet."Harry just nodded and watched carefully as I put the guides back exactly where I'd gotten them from. I put the bag back on the shelf and shut the closet door, turning to face him (and Emmett by default) as I did so. After several minutes of silence Harry sighed."Are we done fighting now? Because I've missed you two like mad."Just like that my frustration was gone and I found myself wrapped in Harry's arms; he just held me close for awhile, face buried in my shoulder. When he finally pulled away it was with a soft, welcoming kiss. He turned to Emmett, who grabbed him in a tight hug. When they pulled back and went in for a kiss it was not as soft but just as welcoming. We were finally home. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
