“I wonder who won?”
“I don’t know, but it looks like Seth’s coming back already.”
The group waited anxiously for both teens to come back, when they did they didn’t expect for Seth to shot out of the water running towards the forest.
“Hey Seth…Seth? Seth what’s wrong?”
Running towards Seth Jacob rushed to catch up with Seth. He didn’t know what happened but the way Seth was running it wasn’t good. Seeing he wasn’t too far from Seth Jacob took a leap and phased into a wolf. Using his knew agility Jacob caught up to Seth and dragged him to the ground. Instantly the smaller male struggled to get away but he was unable to. After a few moments he stopped struggling and curled up in a ball under Jacob.
When Jacob felt Seth was done he phased back and ignored his nudity. Kneeling next to Seth Jacob asked his friend what was wrong. He was a ignored for a few minutes before Seth finally divulged what was wrong.
“I imprinted on Edward.”
“That’s good, I’m glad you finally found your mate.”
Sitting up Seth pushed Jacob away and stood up. Fuming he moved away from Jacob, how could Jacob believe that this was a good thing. Didn’t he understand that he had just imprinted on a vampire, but not just any vampire he imprinted on a male vampire.
“Are you stupid? How is this good? My mate is a man! I’ve never dated a girl let alone a guy and now I have to spend the rest of my life with him. How am I supposed to…what are people gonna…this wasn’t supposed to happen.”
Whipping his eyes Seth bit his lip in hopes to stop the tears that were about come out. It was true what he had told Jacob, he had never dated a girl but he knew he wasn’t gay. Now he was going to be stuck with a male vampire for the rest of his life. A hundreds of year old vampire that he was barely starting to know. What was his mother going to think? What would the tribe think?
“Seth I know this is a lot for you to handle, I know this seems like fate threw a bunch of shit on you right now but…but you imprinted on Edward because for some reason you are compatible with him.”
Shaking his head Seth turned away from Jacob, Jacob just didn’t understand. “You’re wrong, I’m supposed to be with a nice girl who I’m going to love, protect, and have babies with. How the fuck am I supposed to have that with Edward?”
Even though Seth backed away from his Jacob walked up to him and pulled him into a hug. He rubbed his back and ran his hands through Seth’s hair. “You can love Edward just like any women, you won’t need to protect Edward because he can protect himself, and if you want kids then you can adopt one from the reservation. You have options Seth, you have them.” Pulling Seth back Jacob kissed his forehead. “That sparkly vamp probably already knows what happened-”
Jerking away from Jacob Seth began to look around the forest. He was paranoid that Edward was around waiting to jump out at him. “He’s not here don’t worry. You’d smell him if he was.” Turning back to Jacob the younger wolf wiped the sweat from his face. He needed to get out of there, he needed to leave now.
“I’m going to go home.”
“You can’t ignore this Seth, if you’re away from him for too long you’re going to be in pain.”
“I know but I just need to think, and I need to tell my mom…and…and I have to tell the elders.”
“You don’t worry about the elders, Sam and I will deal with them. You just worry about yourself.”
“Ok, I’m going to head home already.”
“Alright, be same.”
“I will.”
Seth phased and headed to his house, Jacob turned to face the man that had been eavesdropping on his conversation. The pale vampire frowned as he stepped out and looked at the direction Seth had gone.
“It would probably be best if you didn’t try to contact him. Let him try to wrap his head around this and when he does he’ll call you.”
“So this is real, he really imprinted on me?”
“Yeah he did. Do you…do you know what this means Edward, not just for you but for him?”
Crossing his arms over his chest Edward nodded his head. Of course he understood, for the rest of Seth’s life he was going to be completely and utterly devoted to Edward. Edward could ask Seth to jump off a plane without a parachute and Seth would have no choice but to do it because his imprint asked him.
No wonder he ran away terrified, I would have runaway to if I was him.
Unfolding his hands Edward turned to Jacob. He was surprised to see that Jacob was taking it so well. He was grateful that Jacob was composed but he half expected him to become enraged and try to fight with him. Luckily he hadn’t, it seemed that Jacob really had matured over the last few months.
“Explain this to me again just so I can make sure I’m not incorrectly interpreting the imprint.”
“1^st he can only be whatever you want him to be. If you want a friend he can be your friend but if you want a lover he can be your lover. 2^nd since the imprint is fresh he’ll want to be around you all the time, whether it’s just being in your presence or having some sort of physical contact with you. 3^rd…3^rd is he’ll do anything in his power to see you happy Edward, even if it means it hurts him as long as your happy he’ll do it.”
“I don’t want that kind of power over someone.”
“I know. This is why I’m happy he imprinted on you and not some bastard that would take advantage of the situation.” Walking up to Edward Jacob wrapped an arm around the cold vampire. Ignoring the frown on the vampires face he continued. “I know you’ll treat him right Edward. I’m not even going to bother to threaten to cut your arms and legs off. I’m not even going to tell you how easy it would be to use your bones as toothpicks. I’m not going to do that because you’re a good man Edward and you’ll be nothing and I mean absolutely nothing but good to Seth.”
Once the speech was done Edward pulled Jacob’s arm off of him and took a few steps back. Looking at anything but Jacob Edward cleared his throat. “Thank you for the confidence you have in me Jacob, I appreciate it, but uh can you not get so close to me when your naked.”
Looking down at his crotch Jacob blushed, he had forgotten he was naked.
