Chapter 3
Kalona moved the blanket out of the way, he could see Zoey laying there in bed. Her warrior was no where to be seen, Kalona counted it as good luck and walked over. His hand ghosted over the side of her head, her skin was so soft and her tattoos elevated the beauty she held. Kalona smiled, he remembered the way she had looked, blood coating her hands and spattered across her face. He leaned down and kissed her,”Kalona?” she turned her face, her eyes where somewhat opened but she looked drowsy and adorable. “wha- how did you get in here?” she asked. Kalona smiled as she sat up “why are you here and how did you even get down here.” Kalona kissed her “i have my ways” she pushed him back after the kiss “no, I don’t want you to do that.” she said, Kalona smiled “you don’t?” “i don’t” he tipped her head to get her to look at him. “you feel regret” Zoey looked away, Kalona knew at that moment he was right. She felt regret for her actions. Oh well..... no woman was perfect. “yes, I do” she finally admitted. Their attention was drawn to the curtain like blanket moving out of the way. Stark walked in, he stopped when he saw Kalona. The immortal stared at him “What the fuck are you doing in here?” “i was merely talking to Zoey” he said “about what?” Kalona glared at him “i don’t see why that is anything you should be concerned about.” Kalona said and simply left. Stark ran out into the tunnel hall way, Kalona had disappeared. He turned his head and looked at Zoey, “what the fuck was he doing here?! And how did he get past Darius?!” “i don’t know, I was getting ready to ask when you came in.” she said and laid back down. “come on Z, you know and understand that I love and care about you. I just want to make sure you are safe.” he said “i will be fine stark, don’t worry” she said.Zoey walked into the temple, she knelt down in front of the statue. “oh goddess what have I done.....” she whispered, there was a sudden change in the feeling of the temple. She turned her head and saw Kalona walking towards her, he knew down next to her. She saw him reach over and take her hand in his. “what do you want?” “We were interrupted earlier.” he said with a smile “yea” he pulled her close “i can see that you are full of guilt over this.” he said, Zoey nodded “i fell like I betrayed everyone. My friends, my family, Nyx, and my self.” Kalona stiffened as she said the name of the goddess, “you seemed to have a reason for that though.” Zoey looked away, “look, I don’t really want to talk about it.” he said her pull her hand away and wrap her arms around herself. There was an awkward moment of silence, Kalona stood “do not worry” he extended his hand to her, she took it and he pulled her to her feet. He kissed her and then turned “besides, give it time, eventually you will learn to fell no regret for this.” Kalona left her alone in the temple.
