Alex yawned widely, pulling out his key with his eyes half open. He and Aahz had set up this system Months ago. Alex would stop by in the mornings, usually around eleven, take Jesse, and go on a walk. He'd return at noon or occasionally one, and drop Jesse off again. He unlocked the door, slightly surprised when Jesse leapt off the couch and bounded over to him.
He glanced at the bedroom door and shook his head, grabbing the leash and attaching it to Jesse's collar before leaving a quick note. No way was he going in there...
He left the rooms quickly, Jesse leading the way out.
Jesse tugged at the leash, eager.
Alex fought off another yawn, letting the dog pull him out of the Circus.
Jesse barked excitedly at the sidewalk, pulling the human towards the park.
Alex forced Jesse to walk as they reached the park. The vizsla barked at the pigeons, and they scattered.
Michele sighed. "Bonnie, sit down and be good." She scratched the Vizsla's ears, sighing. Not many people had this breed of dog, but they were nice. Tended to chew anything and everything but... they were nice. She absent-mindedly turned the page in her book, A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream.
Alex yawned again, and Jesse's leash jerked from his hands. He cursed as the dog raced away, and he chased after red beast.
Bonnie's ears perked up as she saw another dog race across the grass. She looked up at her preoccupied owner, back at the dog, then back at her owner before jerking away, racing after the other beast.
Michele gasped, dropping her book as she began to chase her. "Bonnie!"
"Jesse! You stupid mutt..." Alex muffled another curse as Jesse tackled another red beast. Alex sighed, slowing down to a jog.
Michele pulled up her peasant skirt as she ran, shaking her head. "Bonnie! You little wretch!"
Alex scowled as Jesse stood up on his hind legs and he shook his head, diving for the dog's leash. He pulled the male vizsla away, and glared down him. "Bad dog."
Bonnie tilted her head, jumping up on Alex as Michele finally reached them. "Bonnie!" She panted, trying to grab the leash. "You little brat. Bad!"
Alex stood slowly, brushing off his knees. He looked up and blinked, "Miss, I'm so sorry... I... don't know what came over him..."
Michele met his hazel eyes, biting her lip. "It's not a problem... probably the same thing that got into Bonnie." She swallowed, her voice quiet. "At least they weren't fighting..."
He nodded, looking down at Jesse, who was straining towards Bonnie. "Yeah... I'm sorry." He offered her his hand, "I'm Alex."
She smoothed her hand down her skirt before taking his. "Michele." She swallowed. "I'm sorry as well... I'd introduce Bonnie, but somehow I've the feeling you heard me yelling at her..."
He smiled, giving her hand a small shake. "This is Jesse. You probably heard as well."
Michele nodded, looking at the dogs. "Bonnie, be a good girl and sit..." The dog whined, tugging towards Jesse again. She blushed. "I'm sorry... she's normally much better behaved..."
Jesse rose up on his hind legs tugging at the leash. Alex sighed, pushing the dog back down, "So is he... I'm sorry... Is there any way I can make this up to you?"
Michele appeared a bit shocked. "M...Make it up to me? Why would you have to? You've done nothing wrong... Well... other than owning a hyper Vizsla..."
He shook his head, "I don't own Jesse. He belongs to a friend of mine."
"Oh." She reached down and scratched Bonnie's ears. "Well, he's a beautiful dog."
Alex smiled. The young woman was thin, and her hair was thin, nearly flyaway and a mousy brown color. Her eyes were gray, the color of clouds before rain. She was tall, about five six, only an inch shorter the he was. "Thanks."
Michele pushed her glasses back up as Bonnie tugged her towards Jesse. Michele tripped, nearly falling.
Alex shifted Jesse's leash and caught her, sagging a bit as Jesse tugged on his leash.
She blushed bright red as Bonnie rejoiced, kissing Jesse. "I'm so sorry... I'm such a klutz..."
Alex shook his head, setting her back on her feet. "No, it's all right."
She smoothed her skirt, looking down. "Still... I-"
Alex shook his head again, "It's fine. Look, can I take you out for coffee or something? I feel like I should do something to make this up to you."
She tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear. "Well... you don't have too... but... coffee... coffee sounds nice..." Michele let her eyes run briefly over the man in front of her. He was young, hardly older than her... He was short-ish too... only an inch or so taller than her with his blonde hair. Oh. And Handsome. Did she mention that? Handsome.
Alex smiled, "Great... Would you like to walk with me? Jesse obviously needs to work of some energy."
Michele nodded. "Just let me rescue my book."
He nodded, looking down at Jesse, who was licking Bonnie's face enthusiastically.
Michele sighed. "Puppy love. Perfect."
Bonnie panted, nodding.
Michele blinked. "She nodded."
Alex smiled slightly as Jesse's tail wagged enthusiastically. "Jesse seems to be enchanted with her." Alex turned his smile up to Michele, his hazel eyes warm.
"Looks like it's mutual." Michele licked her lips. "Would you like to walk with me to get my things?"
Alex nodded, "I'd be happy to." He shifted his hold on Jesse's leash, letting the vizsla return his attention to Bonnie's ears.
"Come on Bonnie. You can flirt while walking." Michele blushed lightly, starting to head towards where she'd been sitting under a tall tree.
Alex watched her back for a moment. She was... enchanting, in a shy sort of way. He blinked, as Jesse pulled on his leash, anxious to follow. The stripper shook his head, following after Michele.
Michele glanced over her shoulder at the man behind her before ducking her head with a blush.
He smiled a bit as she blushed, and glanced down as Jesse pulled again. Alex rolled his eyes, taking the opportunity to catch up with Michele.
Bonnie jumped playfully at Jesse, yipping happily. Michele wrapped the leash around her hand again; just to make sure the dog didn't pull away. "Bonnie's normally much calmer..."
Jesse jumped back, his tail wagging enthusiastically. Alex smiled again, gripping the leash tighter; "I wish I could say the same for Jesse."
Michele laughed softly. "At least he's friendly."
Alex grinned, "Usually." Jesse woofed, tapping Bonnie with his nose.
Bonnie rubbed herself along his side, pulling Michele closer to Alex. "Usually?"
Jesse licked at Bonnie's ears again, rubbing back. Alex nodded, stepping over a bit as Jesse pulled, "There are supposedly only a few people he won't go near."
Bonnie aimed a lovesick look at Jesse and Michele nodded before her brow furrowed. She pushed up her glasses as she asked, "Is he fixed?"
Alex frowned in thought, "I don't know... I don't think he is."
"Oh. We'll have to watch them then." She smiled as they reached her stuff. A simple quilt spread on the grass, a bottle of water, her bag, and her book.
Bonnie barked, struggling against the leash to get to a squirrel.
Jesse woofed again, straining against his leash to press against the other vizsla. Alex smiled and gripped Jesse's leash tighter, crouching to help her pick up her things.
Michele tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear as she placed stuff in her bag. "Can you reach my book, Alex?"
Alex nodded, reaching to pick up the book. He looked at the cover, "You're reading a Midsummer Night's Dream?"
She nodded, shrugging a bit. "It was recommended by a friend."
Alex handed it back to her, "I've heard it's good."
She smiled, placing it in the bag as well. "Thanks... for helping... not... yeah." She ducked her head again as Bonnie sat down, watching as Jesse jumped about.
Jesse trotted over to her, and began sniffing at her unashamedly. Alex nodded; his eyes fixed on Michele's, "You're welcome."
Bonnie tilted her head at Jesse before glancing at the humans who seemed to be just... staring. She shifted on the blanket.
Michele wet her lips with the tip of her tongue before swallowing and adding her water to the bag.
Jesse tugged on the leash hard, trying to get closer to Bonnie. Alex jerked, falling into Michele.
She shrieked, falling backwards with an 'omph'.
Bonnie barked happily, kissing Jesse's face.
Alex pushed himself up carefully, looking down at her, "I'm sorry..."
Jesse's head cocked to the side at the sound of Alex's slightly husky voice, before he returned his attention to Bonnie.
Michele swallowed again. "It... it's okay." She sat up, smoothing her skirt down. The stupid thing had slid up her thighs.
Bonnie lay down, resting her head on her paws as she watched the humans.
Jesse lay next to her, his head resting against her shoulders.
Alex nodded, licking his lips unconsciously as he kneeled.
Clearing her throat, Michele shrugged. "That was... interesting."
Alex nodded again, standing slowly and offering her a hand up. "You could put it that way..." He glanced at Jesse, who thwumped his tail against the ground, wagging it happily.
"Thanks." She took his hand with her own slim one as she glanced at the dogs. He'd felt... very nice indeed pressed up against her.
He pulled her up, his hand gripping hers in a gentle grip. "You're welcome." She'd... God...
She met his eyes with hers, noting the hazel color. She stared for a moment before she said one of the stupidest things she'd ever said in her life. "You've got really nice eyes."
He smiled, his gaze locking on hers. "Thank you." His hand let go of hers slowly, and he swallowed, "Yours are lovely."
She blushed. "Um... th...thanks." Michele bit her lip, looking to where Bonnie was grooming Jesse.
He stepped back from her, putting the proper distance between them. Jesse was sprawled on his side, and Bonnie was cleaning his neck thoroughly.
Michele blinked. "Bonnie, what the devil are you-"
The dog barked before ignoring her owner.
Jesse looked over at Alex, who shook his head, "So... coffee?"
Smiling, Michele nodded. "Sure." She picked up the blanket, shaking it out before wadding it and stuffing it in her bag. "So... Alex... what do you do?"
Alex picked up Jesse's leash from where it had fallen, "I'll assume you mean besides walking Jesse." He smiled slightly at her, "I work at Guilty Pleasures."
"Guilty Pleasures?" Her brow furrowed, trying to place the name.
Bonnie decided to make friends with Alex then, rubbing up against him.
Alex looked down at the dog, his lips twitching. "Guilty Pleasures, it's in the District." He crouched, offering his hand to the vizsla. Jesse trotted over, looking up at Michele.
Bonnie sniffed him before starting to lick his palm.
Michele scratched Jesse's ears and the name clicked. "Oh... it's that... oh." She blushed. "Not that there's anything wrong with it... it's just-"
"It's a strip club." Alex provided, his lips quirked into a half smile.
Jesse licked at Michele's fingers, his tail wagging.
"Yes... yes it is." She looked down at Jesse, leaning down to rub her face along his head.
Bonnie butted against Alex with her head as he stared at her owner as if to say, 'pet me!'.
Alex scratched at the dog’s ears, his eyes fixed on her owner. "It's not a bad place, it's just..."
"I didn't say it was... I was just... I've never met someone who's been employed in such an establishment..." She shrugged. "I've never even been to a place like that."
Alex smiled slightly, "You should come to visit one night."
She blinked. "M...me? Oh... I'd light the entire place with one blush..."
Bonnie barked as if agreeing.
Jesse woofed, and Alex shrugged, "It's up to you, I suppose." He shot her a grin, standing, "Where's your favorite place for coffee?"
"Um... isn't there a Starbucks up here?" She pointed, sliding her bag onto her shoulder.
Bonnie proceeded to sniff Jesse's butt happily.
Jesse turned, returning the favor whole-heartedly.
Alex nodded, "My treat."
Michele smiled. "Thank you."
Bonnie tilted her head, yipping before trotting to her owner's side.
Jesse stepped back over to Alex, looking up at the stripper. Alex looked down at him, shaking his head, "No, I won't buy you coffee, Jesse James."
Michele laughed. "He likes coffee?"
Jesse woofed, and Alex grinned, looking up at Michele. "He gets it from his owner."
“Coffee obsessed, is he?"
"She." Alex nodded, "She loves it... It's crazy."
Oh. He was involved. Michele shook her head. "I like it once in a while, but not that often."
He quirked a brow at the change in her eyes, "Yeah... Are you alright?"
She blinked. "Uh... yeah?" Bonnie leaned against her, looking up with her tongue hanging out.
He frowned, "You sure?" Jesse woofed questioningly.
Michele shrugged as she started towards Starbucks. "Fine. You're involved." She smiled at him as Jesse tugged to stay near Bonnie. Of course he was involved.
Alex's lips twitched, and he laughed, catching up with her easily. "No... not me."
She quirked a brow, Bonnie nipping at Jesse's ear in play.
Jesse yipped, jumping at Bonnie. Alex smiled, "Aahz is just a friend."
Bonnie pushed him away, sniffing his butt again.
Michele's brow furrowed. "Oz? That's an odd name for a woman."
Alex shrugged, "Aahz is great. Suppose it is an odd name."
Michele smiled. "I like it. It's... original."
Bonnie tilted her head as if puzzled, pushing her muzzle closer to Jesse's rear.
Jesse looked over his shoulder at Bonnie, his tongue lolling out.
Alex grinned, "She's a great person."
Michele nodded as the store came into sight. "How'd you meet her?"
Bonnie yipped, running in front of the other dog.
Jesse trotted to catch up with Bonnie, sniffing at her rear happily.
"I met her when she came to work at the Club." Alex shook his head. No more tripping for him...
Michele glanced at the dogs and rolled their eyes. "I don't get that..."
Bonnie just pranced happily, more than willing to let Jesse take his time.
Alex shrugged as Jesse pulled on his leash to get closer. "As long as nobody comes up behind me to sniff my bum, I'll be okay. So, where do you work?"
Michele grinned before answering. "I work at a library for children."
Alex smiled, "Really?"
She nodded. "It's near the college." Bonnie tugged again and Michele rolled her eyes. "Heel Bonnie!"
Jesse whined as Bonnie fell back. Alex shook his head as they reached the store. "Jesse, behave... I'll tell Aahz." Jesse whined again.
Michele bit her lip. "I take it we're drinking it outside."
Bonnie pressed against Alex, watching Jesse.
Alex glanced down at Bonnie, and looked back up at Michele. "Yeah... I'll go inside and order, if you like."
Jesse pressed his nose into Bonnie's ear, snuffling softly.
"Or I can. Your choice." She shrugged as they approached one of the picnic tables set up for customers who preferred the outdoors.
Bonnie snorted, leaning heavily against Jesse.
Jesse licked at her face, and Alex shrugged. "Well, I'm paying, so..."
Michele nodded. "It'd probably be better if you went in... Are you sure you don't want me to pay for mine?"
Bonnie moved under the table, flopping down.
Alex nodded, "Yeah. What would you like?"
Jesse flopped down next to Bonnie, resting his head on her shoulder.
"Hm... French Vanilla cappuccino please." Michele smiled, setting her stuff down.
Alex smiled back, then frowned, pulling out his cell phone. "Can you hold this? And Jesse? I'll be back in a minute."
She nodded. "Of course. I'll put in my bag, okay?"
He handed it to her, followed by Jesse's leash. "Thanks."
"Not a problem." She smiled, wrapping the leash around her wrist with Bonnie's before placing the phone in her bag.
Alex smiled back, stepping into the air-conditioned entrance of Starbucks.
Michele seated herself at the table, tucking her legs under her chair. "You two are going to be very upset by the end of the day."
Jesse lifted his head, "Aroo?"
"That's right. I doubt you two will see each other again-"
Bonnie cut her off with a growl.
"Don't blame me."
Jesse licked at Bonnie's face, doggy-glaring at Michele.
She rolled her eyes, digging her book from her bag as she waited. "Like I'm the one choosing to make it that way, Jesse. Besides, Aahz might not want you with my Bonnie."
Jesse whined, resting his head on Bonnie's shoulder again.
"Talk to Alex about it. Maybe he can help. I can't."
Bonnie whimpered, offering her best puppy eyes.
"Nope. Not even."
Alex quirked a brow as he stepped back outside. "Having a nice conversation?"
Jesse barked, raising his head to look up at Alex with pleading eyes. "Apparently."
Michele smiled. "I merely told them I doubted this... puppy love would last beyond today."
Alex handed her her coffee, raising both his eyebrows, "That's a reasonable assumption."
She nodded. "That's what I thought."
Bonnie raised her head, growling at them.
He shrugged, sitting across from her, "I wouldn't mind getting to know you better, but?" He set his coffee down on the table.
Jesse's ears perked up, and he fixed his attention on Alex.
Michele sipped her cappuccino. "But?"
"It's really up to you." Alex shrugged again, his hands toying with the coffee cup.
"Well... are you an axe murderer?" She bit her lip.
He shook his head, smiling. "No."
"Rapist?"
"Never." He sipped his coffee.
"Hmm..." Michele smiled. "You seem nice enough... so..."
Bonnie barked happily.
Jesse woofed, his tail thumping the ground as he wagged it.
Alex smiled, setting down his coffee cup. "So?"
"I'm not adverse to seeing you again."
She blushed lightly, looking down.
His smile softened slightly, "Alright... Will you be in the park tomorrow?" He asked, a little hopeful. Then he frowned. "Never mind. I won't be around tomorrow."
She blinked, Bonnie asking the question for her. "Aroo?"
His lips quirked back into a smile, "I've got a wedding to get to."
Jesse let his breath out in a huff.
His lips quirked back into a smile, "I'll be sleeping off the after-effects of my sisters wedding."
Jesse let his breath out in a huff.
"Your sister?" She grinned. "That's great. Tell her congrats." Michele sipped her coffee. "How old is she?"
Alex smiled, taking a drink from his cup. "I will. Janet's... twenty two in January, if I remember correctly."
Michele reached down, petting one of the beasts under the table. "Wow. A man who knows birthdays... gasp."
Alex laughed softly, drinking from his coffee again. "I remember most of them, but I'll forget a few."
Jesse looked over at Michele's hand and licked it.
She blinked looking down. "Thanks Jesse." She met Alex's eyes again shrugging. "I've got a calendar I keep them in."
Alex set his coffee cup down, wrapping his hands around it. "My mom used to call and remind me."
"Your family sounds nice." Michele sipped her coffee, shifting so her legs were crossed.
He shrugged, "It could've been worse."
She shrugged. "My Dad raised me."
Bonnie growled low in her throat.
Jesse whined softly, resting his head on his paws and looking up at Bonnie.
Alex quirked a brow at the dog, "What's he like?"
"Um... a drunk..." She bit her lip. Why was she telling him? "Anger management problems... fun stuff."
He nodded in understanding. "Mine walked out on us when I was five. Yours is worse."
She furrowed her brow. "Sorry."
Bonnie licked Jesse, resting her head on her paws again.
Alex shrugged, "We did alright without him. You seem to be doing well, so I suppose we're both alright."
"You're sweet, Alex." She smiled softly, scratching Bonnie's ears.
He looked down at his coffee, a faint pink tinge creeping up his neck. "Thanks."
"Do you normally walk Jesse in the park?" She bit her lip, playing with the lid on her cup.
He nodded, and Jesse pressed his nose into Alex's leg. "I walk him every morning at about this time."
Michele furrowed her brow. "It's odd that we've never run into one another before."
"Not really. I usually take him around the other way, but he pulled in your direction on our way in." Alex smiled, returning his gaze to hers.
Her lips quirked, "That's spiffy."
Bonnie yipped softly in agreement.
Jesse licked Bonnie's ear, his tail wagging contently.
"Very. I'll have to thank him later." Alex grinned, taking a sip of his coffee.
She blushed, looking down. "Do you feel like you've been sucked into the Disney cartoon? Sorta?"
Alex laughed, "Yeah. 101 Dalmatians?"
She smiled as she looked up, nodding. "A bit odd, isn't it?"
"A bit... Glad to know we put in some twists though." He smiled jokingly at her, his hazel eyes sparkling with mirth.
"Mmhmm. Vizslas... didn't fall into a pond..." She shrugged. "Oh. And the dogs don't talk."
Bonnie barked in disagreement.
Alex chuckled at Jesse's affronted look. "I didn't ride a bike, and Jesse isn't mine..."
Michele's smile broadened. "Hmm... What else... Ah. Cruella."
"Anything else we've forgotten?" Alex's lips twitched, and he tried not to laugh again.
"Could be the whole puppy bit."
The stripper nodded, "Good point."
Bonnie shared a look with Jesse under the table. "You do realize I've gotten that song in my head.... the one that's all, 'Cruella Deville…Cruella Deville... If she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will...' It's annoying."
Alex laughed again, "That's understandable. You do realize that now I've got to go out and rent the movie." He smiled, sipping at his coffee.
She shook her head. "I own it. I can loan it to you."
Alex's smile widened, "That'd be nice of you."
She shrugged. "Not a problem."
Bonnie leaned over, licking Alex's bare ankle.
Alex jumped, looking down at the dog, "Thanks Bonnie."
Jesse woofed softly, nosing Bonnie's ear.
"What'd she do?" Michele leaned down, looking under the table.
"She licked me." Alex shook his head, smiling slightly.
"Oh." She sat back up, pushing her hair back. "What time's the wedding?"
Bonnie rolled over, presenting Jesse with her tummy.
"Seven tonight."
Jesse rubbed against her, his tail wagging slowly.
"That'll be nice." She sipped her cooling coffee.
Bonnie closed her eyes, seemingly asleep.
Alex nodded, sipping his coffee again, "Yeah."
Jesse rested his head on Bonnie's stomach, shutting his eyes.
Michele shrugged. "I've never been to a wedding. I hear they're complicated as the devil to put together though."
Alex shrugged back, "I've never put one together, so?" His lips quirked.
She laughed softly. "So... be glad you're not the groom I suppose."
He grinned, "I would be, except Janet is an excellent cook."
She shook her head, smiling. "Ah. So it's true then..."
He quirked a brow, "What's true?"
"That the way to a man's heart is through his tummy."
He smiled, "It's one of them."
"One of them?" She lifted a brow. "There are more?"
"A few." His smile widened.
"Care to tell me?" She sipped her cappuccino.
"Nah. It changes from guy to guy."
Michele heaved a sigh. "Men." Her twinkling eyes gave her away.
Alex's lips quirked, "Well, that makes me feel loved." His eyes sparkled back with suppressed laughter.
She rolled her eyes teasingly. "Fine... what are the ways to your heart then? I'll share if you do."
Bonnie opened one eye, then closed it. Humans were weird.
"Mm... a sense of humor is always well looked upon." He grinned, toying with his coffee cup again.
"Mmkay. Intelligence. He doesn't have to belong to Menza, but I want him to be smarter than your average ape." Michele shrugged pushing up her glasses again.
Alex smiled slightly, "Alright. She has to be able to accept me. She doesn't need to be perfect, just accept the fact that I'm me and no one else."
She smiled back at him. "Good one, except switch the he-she bit. Hm... Has to like Bonnie." She shrugged. "Oh. And Kids."
Alex chuckled, "Good point. They have to enjoy having the occasional laid back night."
"Oh... can't be horridly nit-picky where EVERYTHING has to be perfect... cause so not happening." She waved a hand in demonstration.
He nodded, "Perfect is just a stereotype anyway."
"Mmhmm... And imagination...." She sipped her coffee. "I'd like someone who'll watch the clouds with me and see funny clowns or snow men..."
"That's actually really fun..." Alex smiled, "Anyone who is comfortable being themselves has added loads of points in my book. Creativity is good too."
Michele grinned. "There. I think that's enough."
He nodded, "Yeah. Think we've left many to the imagination?" He quirked a brow, grinning.
She shrugged. "Enough."
He finished off his coffee and sighed, "I have to get Jesse back soon."
Jesse opened his eyes and whined.
"Mm. Where does he live? Er. I mean... Aahz..." She shrugged sliding the book she'd taken out then proceeded to ignore back into her bag.
"Aahz lives at the Circus. It's a pretty short walk from here."
She blinked. "Cool... except... Clowns..." She shuddered.
He laughed, standing reluctantly, "I tend to avoid it when the clowns are in town. At least, I try."
Michele bit her lip, standing as well as she unwrapped Jesse's leash from around her wrist. "It was really nice meeting you."
Alex nodded, taking the leash. "Yeah. I'll see you around sometime." Jesse got to his feet slowly, kissing Bonnie's face.
Bonnie opened her eyes, rolling to her feet. "Aroo?"
"Have fun at the wedding, Alex."
Jesse woofed softly, nosing her again.
"I will, thank you Michele."
Bonnie whined, grabbing his leash in her mouth.
Michele nodded before glancing down. "Come on Bonnie... let go..."
The female vizsla shook her head.
Jesse took the hint, and pulled Bonnie's leash into his mouth.
Alex sighed, "Jesse, let go. I'll give you a treat when we get home."
Michele blinked as both dogs stubbornly held on. "Oh for Pete's sake..." She leaned down, trying to tug the leashes away.
Jesse growled low in his throat as Michele's hand came towards his mouth.
"Jesse! Behave, mutt." Jesse growled again, and Alex crouched, frowning at the vizslas.
She sighed. "If you want, we can walk back with you. I've got today off. Maybe that'll stop some of this Tom foolery."
Bonnie seemed to smile around the leash.
Jesse let go slowly, seeming to accept the decision.
Alex shook his head, standing again. "I think Jesse is attached."
Michele nodded. "Bonnie too. Oi."
Bonnie yipped, licking Jesse.
Jesse licked at Bonnie's face, his tail wagging emphatically.
Alex sighed, his lips quirking, "Well, we'd best be on our way then."
Michele grabbed her bag, slinging it on her shoulder. "Alrighty. I'm set."
Alex smiled slightly, and they began to make their way back towards the park.
"I hope Aahz isn't too upset about this... I don't know how she feels about her dog being around other dogs..." She bit her lip. "Bonnie, heel or we're heading home."
"Aahz is pretty understanding. Would you like to meet her?" Alex glanced over at Michele, wrapping Jesse's leash more securely around his hand.
She smiled. "That'd be nice. I've never met another person who owned a Vizsla."
He smiled back, "I think you'll like her."
Bonnie nipped at Jesse as if asking for reassurance that her mistress would be liked.
Michele ducked her head, adjusting her bag on her shoulder. "So... what does she do? For a living?"
Alex watched her for a moment before he tripped slightly on a stick. "She's the Personal Assistant to my boss."
"Ah. Interesting." Michele chewed at her lip some more, glancing at him from the corner of her eye.
Alex nodded, "She makes it look like it. I wouldn't know, though." He shot her a small smile, then looked down at the dogs.
Bonnie was walking properly now, rather than pulling at the leash as if she wanted to make a good impression.
"I think I'd be horrid at a job like that... I'm just... not organized or... bossy enough to do that..." Michele watched the large building of the Circus come into view. "The designer of this building had issues."
Alex laughed, "Well, my boss was always a little... over the top?"
She smiled at him. "I'm just not a clown person. As a kid my room was decorated with clowns. I hated it." Bonnie barked at the word clown and Michele laughed. "I buy her clown chew toys..."
Alex smiled back at her, "I'll remember that if I ever get a dog."
They entered the parking lot, Bonnie lowering her nose to sniff curiously at the unfamiliar ground.
Jesse watched her with a tilt to his head, his tail wagging lazily.
"Have you ever been here, Michele?"
She shook her head. "Nope. Never had a reason to."
Bonnie sniffed at a handicap parking sign before looking at Jesse. Obviously it was well marked.
Jesse woofed, enjoying the attention immensely.
Alex nodded, "It's a lot different at night."
"May I ask why Aahz doesn't walk Jesse herself?" Michele frowned slightly. "It's just... that's one of my favorite things about Bonnie."
The dog looked up at her name, yipping before nipping Jesse.
Alex shrugged, "I'm not sure... She gets home later than I do, and I doubt she gets much sleep..."
Jesse yipped back, rising up on his back legs.
Bonnie snorted, continuing up to the door.
"Ah." Michele bit her lip, unsure if she was entering the building with him or...
She pushed her glasses up again.
Alex nodded, stopping at the door with Jesse. "Would you like to come in and meet Aahz?"
Jesse dropped back down on all four feet, pouting a bit.
Bonnie seemed to sigh, licking his face.
Michele nodded. "Sure." Hadn't they? Oh well. She smiled again as he opened the door for her. "Thanks, Alex." He was sweet. Seriously. And for some reason, she didn't act half as shy around him as she normally did with a stranger.
Alex smiled, letting her step in with Bonnie before following her with Jesse. "You're welcome, Michele."
She watched Jesse tug him back to the point where he could reach Bonnie and rolled her eyes. "It's... dog love at first sight..."
Alex's lips quirked, "So it seems."
Jesse licked Bonnie's face, his tail wagging again.
Bonnie's tail began to wag in time as they made their way down the hall. "This place is like a maze. Halloween would be cool..."
Alex nodded, "It would be..." He led her to the door to Aahz's rooms and began searching his pockets for the key.
"Alex, if that's you, the door's open!" Was called from inside.
Michele reached down, nervously scratching Bonnie's ears.
Alex stopped rummaging in his pockets and smiled slightly at Michele before opening the door. "Hey Aahz."
Aahz came out of the study with a handful of books. "Hey Hun-" She blinked as another red beast poked its head into the room. "Where'd you clone my dog?"
Michele bit her lip, poking her head in. "This... this is Bo...Bonnie. My dog."
Alex looked between them, "Aahz, this is Michele. Michele, Aahz." Jesse strained against his leash again, but looked between Bonnie and Aahz, unsure of which to go to.
Aahz smiled. "Hi. It's nice to meet you." She came forward, setting the book on the coffee table. "Well, don't just stand there Alex, let the pretty girls in."
Michele blushed as Bonnie yipped, straining at Aahz.
Alex smiled, stepping back from the door to let Bonnie and Michele inside.
She shot him a pleading look that clearly said don't leave me alone. "It's.... it's nice meeting you Ms... I mean, Aahz."
"You too, Michele. You've got a lovely dog." The older brunette crouched, scratching Bonnie's ears. "Aren't you girl? You're just a Bonnie-lass..."
Michele smiled. "Actually... it's Bonnie. From Bonnie and Clyde."
Jesse stepped over, nosing at his mistress happily.
Alex shot Michele a smile, "How long have you been up, Aahz? It's nearly noon."
She shrugged. "Not long. You know I'll go back to bed before Jean-Claude gets up. He's gotten to the point we're he strongly dislikes me not being in bed when he wakes."
Michele blinked. "So... why doesn't he get up with you?"
Aahz smiled. "He's a vampire." Her hands scratched at both vizslas.
"Oh." Michele shrugged. "That's... spiffy. Never met a vampire before."
Jesse licked at his mistress's face, his tail wagging happily.
Alex watched the two women and the dogs, his lips quirked into a half smile. "Jean-Claude is nice."
Aahz smiled, her eyes drifting before she blinked. "Oh. Yes. He is."
Michele smiled as Bonnie rolled on her back, and scratched her tummy only to have her hand pushed away by Jesse.
Aahz shook her head. "Jesse... She's allowed to pet her own dog."
Jesse yipped, rubbing his face against Bonnie's tummy, obviously pleased with himself.
Alex shook his head, a small laugh escaping him, "Jesse's been like that all morning."
"Bonnie's just as bad."
Aahz shook her head. "Yay. Looks like she's not fixed either." She eyed the smooth stomach of the dog, scratching idly. "So... how'd you two meet?"
Alex grinned, "Well, actually, you could blame it on Jesse..." He told Aahz what had happened, leaving out only the part where Jesse had made him fall onto Michele.
Jesse licked at Bonnie's tummy, before lying down next to the female vizsla.
Michele blushed slightly as Aahz shook her head. "Well, we can't separate them now."
Jesse rested his head on Bonnie's stomach, looking up at his mistress with content eyes.
Bonnie made a happy noise and Michele blinked. "Well, I suppose they could see each other on walks..."
Aahz shrugged. "Whatever you feel like. I don't know your schedule, but I sleep at odd hours."
"I could take Jesse on the walks. It's not a difficulty or anything." Alex shrugged, hooking his thumbs in the pockets of his jeans.
"And you could see Michele... right Alex?" Aahz quirked a teasing brow.
Alex felt his neck flush, and he looked down at his shoes, shrugging again.
Michele blushed, rubbing her hands down her skirt as Aahz stood. "I'm being a bad host... please, have a seat." She waved her hand at the couch.
Bonnie lifted her head, ears quirked.
Alex watched Michele sit, smoothing her skirt as she did so. The stripper glanced down at the dogs and stepped over to them, unhooking Jesse's leash, "Michele, do you want Bonnie loose?"
"Um... would that be okay, Aahz?"
She nodded. "Of course."
Bonnie licked at Alex as she was freed.
Alex smiled, scratching Bonnie's ears. Jesse raised his head, looked at Alex, and rested his head on Bonnie's stomach again. Alex stood, hanging up Jesse's leash and handing Bonnie's to Michele.
"Thanks." She shifted, watching Aahz sit. "That's a nice painting." She nodded to the trio above the fireplace.
Aahz smiled. "The dark haired fallen-angel looking man is Jean-Claude... The blonde is Asher, and the woman was Asher's human servant and the third of their ménage a trios."
Michele blinked, an image filling her head that made her blush scarlet.
Alex looked up at the painting, then back at the two women on the couch, "When does Jean-Claude usually wake, Aahz? I need to talk to him about Jason."
"3-3:30 as of late." She shrugged. "Is he being a fuckmook again?"
Michele shook her head, patting her leg to call Bonnie to her. The dog sighed before rolling to her feet and padding over, leaving a disgruntled Jesse.
Alex shrugged, "He's being Jason." He glanced over at Michele, "I'm sorry... We're leaving you out of the conversation."
Jesse rested his head on his paws, watching Bonnie and her mistress.
Bonnie sat at Michele's feet, resting her chin on the human's knee.
"Oh, no, it's fine..." She bit her lip, pulling her glasses off and beginning to clean them nervously.
Aahz quirked a brow, "Not really. And I'll tell Jean-Claude to see you tomorrow before you start work, alright?" She looked at Michele who was looking anywhere but at the painting as she cleaned her glasses. "So... what do you do?"
Alex watched Michele with a slight tilt to his head. She seemed to fit every criterion he'd given her about his choice on women. She was pretty, not beautiful, but she had a gentle touch and lovely eyes. He bit back a sigh. She was also too good for him. He was a stripper, and she was definitely out of his league. He blinked, tuning into the conversation again as his name was mentioned.
"Nope. And Jesse seemed to think it'd be great fun to knock him over onto me." Michele sent the dog a look.
Aahz laughed. "He likes to hide under the bed... leads to annoying interruptions." She watched the young girl blush before looking at Alex. "Take a seat, will you? I'm short enough already."
Alex nodded, sitting down in a chair close to the couch, "Sorry Aahz."
She glowered at him. "Don't you sorry me. I was joking."
Michele shook her head. "You're like... like siblings."
Bonnie noted her owner's distraction and padded back over to Jesse.
Jesse got to his feet, and trotted away from the humans, looking over his shoulder at Bonnie.
Alex grinned at Michele, "That's because she leaves herself open for so many jokes." He shot a teasing smile at Aahz.
Bonnie looked around before following the other dog into-of all places- the bathroom.
Aahz stuck her tongue out at him as Michele laughed softly, her eyes sparkling.
Alex glanced at her, and his breath caught. He shook his head slightly, and stuck his tongue back out at Aahz.
Aahz grinned. It was so obvious. Alex was crushing. It nearly made her devious streak come out.
Michele looked at Aahz as she pushed her hair back, seeing the bite scars for the first time. "Can I ask you a personal question?"
Aahz furrowed her brow, then nodded. "I reserve the right to plead the 5th."
Alex cocked his head, curious as to the question.
"Do... do the..." Michele waved at her neck. "Does that hurt?"
Aahz stared at her before smiling. "A bit... but... if the vampire does it correctly, even without being rolled... it can feel really good."
Michele bit her lip, nodding. "I was just thinking... big ol' fangs piercing skin equals owwie..."
Alex's lips quirked, "Haven't heard it described like that before."
Aahz quirked a brow, "Which description, Alex?"
"Both."
Michele blinked as she heard an odd noise from the bathroom. "What's that?" She looked around for the dogs as Alex stood.
"I'll check." He moved off toward the bathroom.
Aahz blinked as Alex made a noise of disgust and turned around. "What?"
Alex turned back to them, his nose wrinkled, "I'd be prepared for puppies. Just in case."
Michele's mouth dropped open and she stood. "No..."
Aahz blinked.
Alex nodded, "Yeah... it's not pretty..."
"Um... I didn't think they'd... I..." Michele turned bright red.
Aahz shook her head. "Well... this is interesting."
The stripper shrugged, "You could phrase it like that."
Michele bit her lip, moving towards the bathroom. "You're joking..."
Alex shook his head, wrapping an arm around her waist to stop her from entering the bathroom. "Trust me, I'm not."
Her tummy tightened and she met his gaze, cheeks flushing slightly.
Aahz rolled her eyes, picking up a book from the coffee table. This was great. Free dog porn... and comedy romance right in her own home.
Alex swallowed, and let her go slowly. "Sorry."
Jesse poked his head out of the bathroom, looked up at the humans, and retreated back to Bonnie.
"It's... it's... okay." She swallowed, unable to look away from his face.
Alex met her eyes, and he wet his lips absent-mindedly. "Okay."
With that, Bonnie trotted out of the bathroom looking smugly up at the humans.
Alex blinked, and looked down at Bonnie.
Michele looked down and frowned. "You little hussy..."
Aahz snorted, shaking her head. "Hussy?"
Jesse stepped out after her, and Alex shook his head, stepping away from Michele reluctantly.
"You just met him, Bonnie. Stuff such as... as... that isn't..." Bonnie seemed to roll her eyes and went and flopped down on the floor.
Aahz laughed. "Sounds like you're lecturing yourself too, Michele."
The younger girl flushed.
Alex felt his neck flush again, and moved back to his seat.
Jesse trotted up to Aahz, his head tilted to the side and his tail wagging.
"Oh no Mister James. Don't you even appeal to me. I wouldn't blame Michele a bit if she beat you."
Michele made her way back to the couch, fidgeting a bit.
Jesse whined softly, looking pleadingly at Michele.
Alex glanced at Michele as he sat, biting his lower lip in thought.
"James? As in Jesse James? Great... we both named our dogs after outlaws..." She folded a leg under her, crossing her other leg over that knee.
Aahz shook her head. "Yeah. Should have know... Think there's a couple out there with the names Frank and Clyde?”
Bonnie watched the situation from her vantage point, content.
Jesse seemed to sigh, and trotted back over to Bonnie.
Alex leaned back in his chair, his hazel eyes bemused. That was twice in one day Jesse had gotten the stripper in a sticky situation with Michele. Frankly, he didn't know whether to thank the dog or ban him from treats for life.
"Well... what are we going to do if she is having... having puppies?" She bit her lip.
Aahz shrugged. "Would you like a puppy Alex?"
Alex blinked, "I would, but my apartment facility doesn't allow pets..."
Aahz frowned. "Hm..."
Michele furrowed her brow. "How many puppies does a vizsla have? I don't even know..."
Alex shrugged, "I don't know... I could look it up or something."
"Around five..." Aahz shrugged. "I did research when Jesse found me."
Michele nodded. "Okay..." She sighed. "I'm sorry. I should have watched her..." Her apology was aimed at Alex more than Aahz.
The stripper shrugged, "It's alright, as long as Aahz doesn't mind."
Aahz shrugged. "Nah... I wonder if Anndy would want one... probably not with the twins..."
The younger woman bit her lip again. "Are you sure? Cause I would understand..."
"It's always the man's fault... never admit to anything, Hun." Aahz winked at her.
Alex stuck his tongue out at Aahz, "Sure, just blame everything on us."
She smirked. "Of course."
Michele shook her head. Noting the dogs cuddling near the door, she tilted her head. "That's so weird."
Alex looked over at Michele, "What is?"
"I've never seen animals get along like that... and... well, the other but..." She blushed.
His lips quirked, "Maybe they get along better with the same breed."
Aahz shrugged. "Or when the female's in heat."
Michele seemed to sink down slightly in her chair.
Alex watched the dogs for a moment before sighing. "I should get going soon. I have to make sure I have everything for Janet's wedding."
Michele checked her watch, standing. "Um... how do I get in touch with you if she is pregnant?"
Aahz shrugged. "Just get a hold of Alex or stop by here... or the club..."
Alex nodded, looking over at Aahz and Michele again. "I'll give you my number."
"Oh... um... okay. Well... do you have e-mail?" Michele bit her lip.
Aahz reached forward, grabbing her purse and pulling a card from her purse. "Here. This has my info. Alex can write his on the back."
Alex nodded, "I'll put it with my number. Aahz, can I borrow a pen?"
She nodded, pulling one from her purse. "Here you go."
Michele handed Alex the card, watching as he scrawled the information on the back.
He handed Michele the card and Aahz the pen as he finished.
"Thanks." They spoke in unison, looking at each other.
Alex fought back laughter as he spoke, "You're welcome."
Michele tucked the card into her bag. "Well... I'll get out of ya'lls way now." She picked up Bonnie's leash, the dog studiously ignoring her.
Alex stood, shaking his head, "You aren't in the way. I'll walk you out... See you tomorrow, Aahz."
Michele offered her a shy smile. "It was nice meeting you... I'm sorry about-"
"Honey... you apologize more than I do... that takes effort." Aahz smiled. "I'll see you two later." She watched as Michele snapped the leash on Bonnie.
Alex opened the door, making sure that Jesse couldn't get out. "Bye Aahz."
Michele waved as they left, the door shutting. "That... I can't believe-"
Alex chuckled softly, falling into step beside her, "It could've been worse."
"But... in her bathroom! And..." She blushed. "That was..."
"It could have been in front of us." He pointed out.
Michele wrinkled her dainty nose. "Er."
Bonnie tugged at the leash, clearly not happy with their departure.
His lips quirked, "My thoughts exactly."
"I'm sorry you had to see that..."
He shrugged, "I've seen worse, that was just... a shock."
"I'm sure." She sighed. "I'm not the most bold person and for my pet to do something like that with a potential friend as the unfortunate voyeur..."
Bonnie woofed.
Alex bit back a smile, "I can see how that would be embarrassing." He glanced at her, "It's fine, though. Seriously," He added at her disbelieving look.
"Is there anything I can do? Cause... you felt bad earlier and now it's my turn..."
He shrugged, "I'll get back to you on that."
Michele licked her lips as they reached the outer doors. "Alright... well... it was nice meeting you, Alex."
Alex nodded, "You too, Michele." He offered her a smile.
She smiled. "I hope your sister has a happy marriage." She scratched Bonnie's ears before turning to head across the parking lot.
Alex nodded, watching her go with a slight smile on his face.
