Mike watched a sci-fi movie on the TV and was picking at his lunch. Edward was once again sitting beside the teen and was also watching the movie.

“You know……it seems that more and more horror movies are being made around vampires and werewolves. The producers are making them the bad guys” Mike commented.

“I have noticed that as well, people have too much time on their hands and they are corrupting minds and turning them against vampires and werewolves. Guess they are jealous of how popular they are” Edward nodded.

“When I was little I always stayed up late and watched old vampire movies, those are the best I think. My mom told me that one day a vampire was going to hunt me down if I didn’t sleep at night” the teen said as he shook his head.

Edward smiled at the teen making Mike blush. Grinning, the vampire changed the channel to weather. Mike yawned loudly making Ed laugh.

“Mike would you like for the rest of my family and Bella to come visit or would you like to get some rest first?” Ed asked.

“A nap sounds good but I also want them to visit” Mile replied.

“Well it is about three hours until school lets out, I am sure you can take a nap before they come” the vampire smiled.

“Good, wake me before they get here please” Mike smiled back as he fell asleep.

Edward covered up Mike and kissed his forehead before pulling out his cell and texting his family.

Bella yawned as her chemistry class dragged on forever. They were going over the anatomy of the human body and learning about the chemical reactions that took place inside of them. This was the only class that Bella didn’t have with Mike or Edward. Her cell vibrated in her pocket making Bella smile.

-Mike wishes for you and the rest of the Cullen family to come by for a visit when school let’s out. How has your day been?-

-Boring without you or Mike here. I got caught up in all of my school work with Alice’s help. I can’t wait until school is over- Bella replied to the text message when the teacher turned his back to the class.

-Glad to hear that you are caught up. I should be back in school tomorrow since my father is off and he can stay with Mike along with Esme. Be good and Mike and I will see you soon-

Bella smiled and put her phone away as the school bell rang out to change classes. ‘Only two more hours, I think that I can make it’ the brunette sighed as she made her way to her next class.

Edward finished texting his family and put his phone away. Mike was sleeping peacefully as clouds blocked out the sunlight flowing into the room.

‘Family……Cullens? Mom…dad mad…’

Mike’s thoughts were erratic but they all came back to the Cullens and family. Edward gently ran his fingers through Mike’s blond hair making him purr.

“You always have a family with us” Edward whispered.

“Nghhh……red eyes…bad” Mike whimpered.

“Shh…I will protect you from the red eyes” the vampire said in a soothing voice making Mike calm.

Three hours later had Edward uncovering Mike and shaking him awake. The blond whined and pouted but finally opened his green eyes.

“The others should be here in another hour or so” the bronze haired teen explained.

“Mmm…ok” Mike groaned as he rubbed his eyes.

Edward helped Mike sit up and rubbed his stiff back. Purring the blond nearly melted into the gentle touches.

“Are you awake now?” the vampire grinned.

“Yeah, I am pretty sure that I am. I wish they had softer beds, these kill my back” Mike whined.

Carlisle peeked his head into the room and smiled. ‘It seems that my son has found his mate or I should say one of his mates’ the doctor sighed happily. Mike looked over at the doorway and waved at Carlisle.

“Hi ya Doc!” he laughed.

“You get a special treat, a mineral bath” the doctor smiled.

“Ohh….mineral bath, never had one of those before but it sounds inviting” the blond grinned.

“Are you in any pain?” Carlisle asked.

“For the most part it is just a dull ache like a headache, tolerable. When can the bandages come off?” Mike answered.

“You need to keep them on for a couple of weeks to keep infection out but we are going to change them today and see how much swelling there is” the vampire doctor replied.

Mike smiled as he saw Bella and Alice peek around the doorframe. They were carrying a get better son balloon. Jasper and Emmett were carrying large boxes as Rosalie glided into the room with a large cupcake.

“We thought you would like some home comforts during your stay so we brought you a game system and a DVD player” Bella said softly.

“That’s really sweet of you guys, thanks. You are going to spoil me” Mike chuckled.

“You deserve to get spoiled” Alice replied happily.

Emmett set down his box and stretched out groaning. Jasper set his box on top of Emmett’s and dug around in it until he pulled out a stereo. Bella sat down on Mike’s bed with a mini laptop in her hands.

“I taped all of our classes so that when you are able to come back to school you won’t be too far behind” the brunette said as she set the laptop onto Mike’s lap.

Mike smiled his thanks as he noticed two more figures in the doorway. His mother was glaring at everyone in the room along with his father. Sighing, the blond haired readied himself for the yelling that was sure to start. Edward sat beside the teen and glared back at his parents.

“Mike these people are not allowed in here” his father said harshly.

“These people are my friends and family and I can have whoever I want in here with me. They are my protectors in case I can’t make my own decisions” Mike replied.

“We want them out! We are your legal and biological parents and have say over your life until you move out of our household” his mother yelled.

“If you want me gone so bad then say so!! I am sure I can my own place where I can have whoever I want over” the teen yelled back.

“Michael don’t raise your voice! You need to change your attitude and quick” his father growled.

“Excuse me but Mike has a right to have protectors. He is 16 and by law allowed to make his own decisions” Carlisle piped in.

“Butt-out and mind your own business” Mike’s mother said snobbishly.

“If you don’t calm down I will ask that you leave, MY patient is still recovering from a traumatic event. Stress can seriously hinder his healing process” the vampire doctor bit back.

Mike leaned wearily against Edward as he held his head. Bella found a cold wash cloth to place over the bandages. Whimpering, the teen relaxed as Carlisle defended him.

“Listen here, you might have one of the best hospitals in the state but I will have Mike removed from this facility” Mike’s father snarled.

“Mom…Dad…SHUT UP PLEASE! Stop being jerks to Carlisle; he saved my life along with everyone else in this room. All that you did was show up after I was out of surgery. I am trying my best to be civil with the both of you but it is getting harder and harder each visit. I love you both but I cannot have you in here yelling at me and my…my friends who are becoming my family” Mike panted out.

“Son……” his mother whimpered with fake tears in her eyes.

“Mom what I need isn’t pity. Please…I beg you to remain calm, if you can’t then just leave and don’t come back. Bells could you hand me a barf bucket” the teen shivered as he paled.

Bella rushed into the bathroom and came back with the trashcan just as Mike emptied his stomach into it. Mike’s parents stormed out of the hospital making Mike hang his head.

“I’m sorry that they are like this, I think they are stressed out as well” the blond sighed sadly.

“It’s alright Mike, you don’t have to apologize for them. I am sure they will cool off and see the wrongs in the way that they are acting” Carlisle smiled.

“I think I am ready for that bath now, I need it badly” Mike said softly.

Carlisle got the teen into a wheel chair and took him to the mineral bath for a good long soak. Mike nearly purred at the warm water swirling around his body. The vampire doctor rubbed heated skin softening oil into the teen’s tensed up muscles. Moaning in relief, the blond relaxed deeper into the bath.

“I am going to change your bandages, please try not to move” Carlisle asked.

“No worries there, bath feels amazing!!” Mike laughed as he closed his eyes.

Gently the doctor removed the blood soaked bandages and looked over the surgery site. The skin was a healthy pink and had no bruising. There was a small amount of swelling but nothing was life threatening.

“You are healing up nicely, you have no bruising but some swelling. I am very pleased with these results so far” Carlisle explained.

“I’m happy to, I have always been a fast healer so I am sure the swelling will go down soon” Mike sighed happily.

“Now then, enjoy your bath while I get you some fresh boxers and a new gown” the doctor ordered as he rewrapped Mike’s head with fresh and clean bandages that had been soaked in anti-bacterial wash.

While Mike was away for his mineral bath, Edward dug into the large boxes.

“Rosalie change the bed sheets and replace them with these” he ordered as he tossed the new sheets into his sister’s arms.

Alice dragged out the game system and handed it to Emmett who immediately started to hook it up. Bella help Rose throw out the old bed sheets and replace them softer and warmer sheets. After that Bella grabbed the DVD player out of Edward’s hands and hooked it up. Jasper carried in a box full of movies as Alice brought in a load of games. Edward found CDs and placed them beside the stereo within reach of Mike.

“Everything looks good, tomorrow we can bring him some clothes” Alice smiled.

“I hope he likes it” Bella replied as she worried her bottom lip.

“I know he will and I am sure he is happy that he has us here” Emmett grinned as he stood back up.

Just then they could hear Mike talking to Carlisle about his medical history. Mike noticed the changes to his room instantly and smiled.

“You didn’t have to do all of this for me” he blushed.

“Of course we did Mike, you need some home comforts for your stay here” Edward replied as he lifted the teen back into bed.

“I appreciate it, thank you for everything” Mike sighed as he felt the softness of the bed.

Edward took out a cool wash cloth and wiped around the bandages to clean Mike’s face. Carlisle gave Mike his daily pain medication and left the room to go check on other patients.

“I really like the pain meds here, they are really good” Mike giggled.

“Hey, I bet that I can beat you in Mortal combat!” Emmett challenged.

“OK, I will take that challenge grasshopper. What do I get if I win?” Mike grinned wolfishly.

“I will……hmm……” Emmett thought.

“I know, you could be his personal maid for a week after he gets out of the hospital” Alice chirped.

“I like that one!! If I lose what should I do?” the teen asked as he looked over at Alice and Jasper.

“Wash Emmett’s jeep for a week” Jasper added.

“Ok now that the bets are in let us begin!” Mike declared as he picked up a controller.

Edward pulled Bella into his lap to watch the two fight it out in the video game. Bella laughed and
cheered Mike on as he won the first round. Emmett growled and doubled up his efforts but Mike pulled out a secret move that killed Emmett’s player. Alice laughed as her brother nearly snarled at the game screen.

“It seems that I am winning, I am going to enjoy having you as a personal maid, it is soo hard to find strong ones these days” Mike smiled.

“It isn’t over yet brat!” Emmett declared but was finally beaten a third time in a row.

Jasper fell over laughing as Mike cheered. Rose even cracked a grin as her husband hung his head. Bella giggled and hugged Mike.

“Emmett you don’t have to be my maid for a week if you don’t want to” Mike said softly.

“Are you kidding? No one has ever beaten me, plus I get to see where you live” Emmett smiled.

Jasper turned off the game system and turned on the DVD player while holding out a few horror movies to Mike. Mike looked over the titles and settled on the Underworld series making Bella snicker along with Alice and Jaz. Rose left the room and came back with hot popcorn which she gave to Bella and Mike. The brown haired human settled beside Mike on his bed and munched on the popcorn with the blond. Carlisle came into the room with his wife Esme.

“Mike I would like you to meet my wife Esme” Carlisle smiled.

“It is nice to meet you Esme” Mike smiled as the women came over to his bed and hugged him.

“You are welcome to our home any time you like” Esme whispered as she pulled back.

“Thank you, would you like to watch the movie with us” Mike asked.

“Of course and Carlisle can as well since he is now off duty” the caramel haired women replied as she pulled up a chair which Carlisle took over.

Sitting in her husband’s lap, Esme watched the movie. Rose and Emmett sat in the floor along with Alice and Jasper. Half way through the movie Mike fell asleep along with Bella. Edward covered the two up and turned off the movie. Jasper turned on the stereo to soft classical music.
