Everyone was a bit at edge since Seth had imprinted on Edward two days ago. Seth tried not to show it but he was already starting to feel drained from the lack of contact from his imprint.
“Seth we have to go in ten minutes.”
“Ok I’m on my way.”
Sighing Seth put on his plain white shirt and dark blue jeans. Looking around the room he grabbed his black shoes under his bed. Sitting on the bed he started to put on his shoes but stopped when he smelled his sister at the door.
“Come in.”
The door opened and his sister and mother cautiously stepped inside the room. Finishing with his shoes Seth stood up and went to grab his brush. Running the brush sluggishly through his hair Seth stopped when he felt his mother next to him.
“You don’t need to pretend with me Seth.”
“I’m fine.”
“Mom I-”
“You are not fine Seth, you’re exhausted and scared. You don’t need to hide it from us because we know you. We know going to the elders is scaring and instead of trying to hide you need to talk. Keeping it all in isn’t going to make it better.”
Clenching his fist Seth turned around and glared at Leah. It all seemed too easy to Leah since she had already gone through all of this. “Talk about it, you want me to talk about this.” Clenching his teeth Seth walked past his mother and sister. “You want me to talk about it ok let’s talk about. My imprint is your girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. For the rest of my life until I die I will be in pain unless I’m around him. He will be able to have absolute control over him and there is nothing I can do about it, nothing.”
“Seth you know he wouldn’t hurt you. He’s a good guy and you know this.”
“Ok, he’s a good guy and wouldn’t use the imprint against me but he’ll end up staying with me out of duty not out of love.”
Sighing Leah shook her head and grabbed Seth’s arm. Holding him still she grabbed his face so he would look at her. Just from looking at his eyes she was able to see the fear of rejection from Edward, fear of the elder’s rejection, fear of the packs rejection, and fear just all around.
Leah knew that that Seth wasn’t really scared that Edward wouldn’t reject and she knew from her own experience that the elders and the pack wouldn’t be opposed to same sex imprinting. The real reason Seth was terrified was because Edward was a vampire. He was scared that everyone else would reject their relationship because his imprint was a vampire.
Seth was right to be a bit scared because not everyone was happy about the new relationship between both wolfs and vampires. Leah knew that those idiots weren’t important; all that mattered was that his pack and family supported him. All those other ignorant fools didn’t matter.
“Seth, honey, you’re trying to make things harder for yourself and you don’t need to. Stop trying to force all these misconceptions on Edward. After you see the elders we are going to call the elders and ask them to come over for dinner.”
“Mom no we can’t do that.”
“Oh really, and why’s that?”
Mouth open Seth tried to think of a good reason why they couldn’t have the Cullen’s over for dinner. “They…they don’t eat, and they can’t go over the border.” Nodding his head Seth waited to see what his mother would respond. The silence lasted a few moments and Seth took that as confirmation that he was right.
“If they don’t eat then they can sit and watch us eat while we get to know each other, and the border won’t be a problem because Sam is going to talk to elders about letting them cross over. Sam said he’d try to get at least Edward permission to come over.”
“So everything’s that simple?”
“Yes Seth, sometimes things are that simple. Now just like Edward has to be open to the idea of the two of you together you have to be open. You have to at least try.”

“Edward you’ve been staring at your phone for the past two days.”
“I want to make sure I don’t miss Seth’s phone call.”
Rolling her eyes Rosalie grabbed the phone out of Edward’s hands. Keeping it away from Edward Rosalie tossed it at Emmett. “Give me the phone.” Ignoring Edwards growls Rosalie and Emmett played keep away with Edward’s phone. “Edward you don’t need to stare at this phone all day and night. It’s not like you wouldn’t hear it ringing while outside.” Running outside Rosalie tried to make it to the forest but was tackled by Edward. “Get off me.”
“Not until you give me the phone.” Growling Edward snatched the phone from Rosalie’s out stretched hand. Looking at the screen he made sure he hadn’t missed a call or text while Rosalie was being a bitch.
“You ok babe.”
“Yeah I’m fine, but Edward isn’t, he’s about to go spend the next 24 hours locked up in his room waiting for anyone from the wolf pack to contact him.” Fixing her hair and wiping the dirt of her pants Rosalie grabbed Emmett’s hand and walked back to the house. “Maybe instead of looking at the phone you should be thinking about what you’re going to do now that you’re basically mated to that kid.”
“He’s not a kid.”
Stopping Rosalie turned around and pursed her lip, “Edward, he’s more than a 100 years younger than you. No matter how you look at it he’s a kid, a kid that’s going to never be able to be with anyone but you.”
Stepping up to Rosalie Edward stared her down, “Don’t fucking talk to me like I don’t know that. I know all this shit, but right now I’m just worried about what his pack, family, and elders are thinking.” Glaring at her Edward stepped away and started to walk back to the house.
“Have you at least decided what you’re going to do? Are you going to date him or what?”
“Yeah I’ve decided.”
“Well, what is it?”
Walking up the stair Edward opened the door and walked towards the living room where almost his whole family was. A few steps behind him Emmett and Rosalie came to the living room. With everyone in the room Edward decided to share what he had decided a few hours ago.
“I’m the only person that Seth is going to be able to love for the rest of his life.”
“Edward-”
Cutting his mother off Edward sat down on the coffee table in the middle of the living room. “I’m not saying I’m going to force myself to be with him, because I’m not. What I’m going to do is give whatever we’re going to have an opportunity. Whether in the end we become lovers or we end up just being friends, I’m going to give it a try.”
“No matter what you choose Edward we will support you.” Nodding his head Edward was glad to see that his family was supporting his decision.
Ring Ring Ring
The whole room seemed to freeze as they turned to phone that was sitting on the coffee table next to Edward.

In a flash Edward picked up the phone and stood up facing away from his family. “Hello.”
“H-hi Edward t-this is Seth.”
“Seth, hello it’s good to hear from you.”
“Really?” Smiling at Seth’s wishful tone Edward could almost imagine Seth smiling.
“Yeah, it is.”
“W-well…well I was wondering if you’d like to come over for dinner; even though I know you guys don’t eat, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to talk about what happened.”
“Sure, I’d love to but what about the treaty?”
“The elders said that it’s ok if you and your family come cross the border. Other vampires are still a no-no but you guys are ok.”
“Ok then, when will be good for us to come over?”
“H-how about tonight, at six?”
“Tonight at six sounds good.”
“Ok…ok then I’ll see you in a few hours Edward.”
“See you in a few Seth.”
Hanging up the cell phone Edward smiled at his phone and turned back to his family. “In three hours we are going to go to his family’s house for dinner.” Not waiting to see what his family was going to say Edward rushed to his room, he needed to find something appropriate to wear. As he rushed up the stairs he could hear Emmett’s voice follow him.
“Remember you’re not Rosalie Edward, so you don’t need to take all your things out to find something to wear.”

“H-he said yes, they’re going to come in three hours. Oh god they’re going to come in three hours.”
Wide eyed Seth dropped the phone and fell on the chair behind him. He hadn’t expected the dinner to be so soon. He had thought they would make the dinner in a few days so that he could have time to clean the house, plan the perfect meal, do weights to get more muscle, and bring a few flowers in.
“Oh fuck, calm down Seth. Just breath, MOM Seth’s having a panic attack.”
In less than a minute Sue Clearwater ran to the living holding a paper bag. Kneeling down in front of her won Sue brought it up to Seth’s face and whispered reassuring words to him. Leah watched as her mother tried to reassure her brother, she didn’t know what to do. The only time she’d seen Seth so worried had been after their father died.
“I-I’m fine…I’m fine.”
Kneeling down next to her mother Leah began to rub Seth’s back. He pushed the bag away from his face and covered his face. Leah didn’t know what was wrong, frowning Leah turned to her mother for answers. Her mother merely shock her head as she smiled, it seemed like she knew exactly what was going on.
“Seth, sweetie, everything is going to be fine. Edward isn’t going to care about what the house looks like or what we have for dinner.”
“No you, you don’t understand he’s used to having everything being perfect and…and I’m not.”
“No Seth you aren’t perfect, but he’s not going to care about that. Do you really think your imprint is that swallow?”
“NO, absolutely not.”
“Then you have nothing to worry about Seth.”
Licking his lips Seth closed his eyes and took a deep breath. His mother was right; Edward wouldn’t care about anything like that. He was just over stressing.
“You’re right, I’m just being stupid.”
“You’re not stupid Seth you’re just worried about your mate. Now this is what’s going to happen, you and Leah are going to clean the house and I will make steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans for us to eat.”
“What about them, should I go and drain some animals so they can have some blood to drink?”
“No just leave that to me, I’m going to try to incorporate blood into jello I’m going to make.”
“Will that work?”
“I don’t know but we’re going to see.”
“Ok, thank you so much mom. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

“Are you sure it would be appropriate to bring this to dinner? We don’t even know they’re eating.”
“It’s appropriate; Seth’s mother is making steak.”
“Oh, ok then.”
“She’s also making some blood infused Jell-O for us. I wonder how it’s going to taste.” Licking her lips Alice hoped the flower shaped Jell-O tasted as good as it looked.
“Blood infused Jell-O, I never heard of that before.” Looking at the houses they were passing Esme wondered if anyone had ever tried infusing blood with food. She’d never heard of it being done.
“Neither have I Esme that’s why I’m excited to try it.”
“I just hope it doesn’t taste like shit.”
“Rosalie!”
“What, you know I’m right. Normal food tastes like shit and even thought Seth’s mom is being nice enough to make food you know we won’t be able to eat it.”
“You don’t know that Rosalie, none of us have ever eaten food infused with blood.”
“I guess.”
The conversation ended after that and everyone waited to arrive at Seth’s house. According the directions their house was in between Sam Uley and Embry Call’s house. It was a little daunting to have dinner next to Sam’s house but the family knew the other wolfs weren’t going to interfere during the dinner.
In no time the Chevrolet Tahoe reached the Clearwater home. Everyone in the Tahoe climbed out and took out a bottle of red wine. Before the last Cullen stepped out of the Tahoe the Clearwater door opened and all three Clearwater’s greeted them.
“I’m so happy all of you were able to make it.”
“Oh we wouldn’t miss this Mrs. Clearwater.”
“I’m glad please come in.”
Everyone walked inside the small house except Seth and Edward. The young wolf and the older vampire stared at each other for a few moments before Edward walked up the Seth. Edward could hear Seth’s pulse raise and his breath shorten. It surprised Edward that just by being in his presence Seth was getting flustered.
“Edward.”
“Hello Seth, it’s a pleasure to see you again.”
“Y-yeah.”
“I’m glad we’re going to be able to talk Seth.”
“Me to, there’s so much we need to talk about.”
“There is, but we can do that after dinner.”
“Of course.”
