A/N ; *super major squee* Thank you SO much to Dagger, for being my first reviewer!
It is sometimes hard to not have any reviews, though I’ll admit I don’t pay much attention to the rating, lol. I just keep an eye on the number of hits, and if the number goes up every time I update; I get by. Plus I am too in love with this story to stop. Sometimes, it’s like I’m my own reader. I want to know what’s going to happen too, and I only find that out by writing the next chapter. I’m too eager of a person to be able to write a story and post it chapter by chapter, lol.
Anyways, enough happy ramblings! I’m just glad I’m able to get some writing done (that I am pleased with) after my computer/technical problems lately. Thanks a million to all my readers! Hope you enjoy!

Geiarrvoew ran a hand through his short graying hair, the sun having long passed overhead, declaring that it was well into the afternoon. Now the bright ball of light was not even visible, tucked away behind layers of clouds. He’d skipped right past lunch, too involved in the world around him to take notice of the passage of time. But moments ago, when a few small droplets announced the coming rain, it had began the wheels turning in his mind.
They’d come to this sandy shore bright and early this morning; Arrvo turning to his notes, and Eden. . . .well, now that’s where he drew a blank. He wasn’t sure exactly where the young boy had gone off to. Having looked around, his first conclusion was the woods. But, shouldn’t Eden have returned by now?
The rain started to come down harder, the amount of drops increasing immensely, causing Arrvo to huddle his coat around himself, tucking his papers inside it safely. At this point, he had two main options; to go looking for Eden in the woods; or to wait in the car, hoping that the boy would show up soon. The protective uncle-like part of him was calling out to Arrvo to go find Eden.
But, he had no problem admitting that he was getting older, and the uneven footing in the forest would be difficult for him, easily able to send him tumbling, possibly resulting in an injury. Plus, he knew Eden would scold him for being out in the rain, since he would probably get sick from it. With a last glance at the dark forest, Geiarrvoew heaved a resigned sigh, before hurriedly making for the shelter of their vehicle.
Once inside, he started it up, pulling as close to the edge of the woods as he could get, before putting it in park. Turning on the heat and locking the doors, Arrvo shook off the rain from his coat, tucking away his papers in the glove compartment. He then flicked on the wind shield wipers at a steady pace, and settled in to wait, leaving the headlights on, his face set in a worried frown, hoping that Eden would soon turn up.

Dante exited the tent, walking through the rain unfalteringly, not stopping until he reached his own make-shift room. He hated spending too long around him. It wore at Dante, until he wanted to give in and do something foolish, like reach out and touch him. Briar just smelled so good.
After spending the ride home worrying over the shivering form next to him, and the rather wet walk in shielding the boy from the rain, Dante had ushered Briar into the firmly constructed food storage building, one of the handful of structures that had been completed, and unloaded their purchases. He’d avoided looking at the boy, the many urges that had already surfaced, continuing to nag at him. Urges to warm, to comfort.
But he fought his feelings. Dante had been ever since he’d first laid eyes on Briar. The younger male was lovely, so sweet and giving. The older the brown haired boy had grown, the harder it had become to turn his dark eyes away. But he did. . . . .most of the time. Dante couldn’t claim to being ‘only human’ but the meaning of the phrase wasn’t so far off.
The long haired man wasn’t blind to the sad looks his sister Kyrie gave him, sometimes tinged with disappointment, and other times with understanding. Dante knew what she wished. He’d heard several people’s opinions on the situation more than once, though their words had never swayed him.
Over time, most of Dante’s anger had drained away, and now all that he was hanging onto, was his stubbornness. And lately, he was beginning to question how much longer that would last him.

Rain. It had barely been sprinkling before, and under the many layers of leafs and branches, Eden hadn’t felt it too much. But not too long ago, it had started to come down steadily, though Eden hadn‘t paid much mind to it. Now, it somehow seemed to make the unfolding scene even more likely to end badly.
“You’re new in town, aren’t you? We’ve never seen you around before.” The brown haired leader’s words seemed friendly enough, but his was tone smug, and those green-hazel depths had a predator-like glint to them. Which meant Eden was the prey.
He had to swallow before talking, since his mouth had gone dry, “Yes, my uncle and I arrived yesterday.” Part of Eden’s mind was questioning the decision to tell them this, but another part of him was hoping that once they knew he wasn’t alone, they wouldn’t do anything. . . .too bad. For all they knew, his uncle could be a muscled weight lifter, not a graying middle-aged man.
“Well then, it’s only right that we ‘welcome’ you properly, huh boys?” The dark haired boy on the right nodded in agreement, while the nervous blonde glanced wide eyed between the speaker and Eden. With that, two of the three took a step towards him, causing Eden’s fear to notch up.
Taking a countering step back, he gasped softly when his back met with the firm solid form of a tree. When had he gotten so close to one? Eden must have instinctively taken more steps at some point, having sensed the undercurrent of trouble, which put him where he was now; cornered. He could try to run, but Eden knew that he wouldn’t get very far before they caught up with him, especially with the rain making the ground so slick.
“Cliff-” When the blonde tried to timidly speak up, it distracted Eden long enough for the other two to close in on him. The dark haired one went for his arms, pulling him away from the tree and twisting them up behind Eden’s back. Cliff, if that’s what the brunette’s name was, suddenly had one of his hands up underneath Eden’s shirt, the other hand grabbing at the younger boy’s bottom.
Eden was filled with fear and disgust as he was rendered helpless and groped against his will. His wet hair stuck to his forehead and obscured his vision, as his breath came out in short uneven sputters. Any struggling he did only resulted in a tightening of the hands that held his wrists, and encouraged Cliff to touch him further.
When a hand slipped down the back of his pants to squeeze at his bare flesh, Eden heart raced in his chest. He closed his eyes, not knowing what to do, feeling so repulsed by the forced touches, and completely powerless to stop anything.

“Can we stop now Koda, please?” Makai’s voice was slightly whiney, and while Dakoda knew the boy was getting tired, he stood firm in his decision. Shaking his head, he picked up another piece of wood and set it up before lifting the axe and swinging down, splitting the wood with a hard ‘crack.’
Pushing his rain-wet hair out of his face, Koda gestured for the two boys to continue, lifting an eyebrow when Benji hesitated. With a sigh, the short haired wolf selected another log reluctantly, his shirt sticking to his back as the rain soaked them all. Koda wanted to get the punishment out of the way, since he knew Benji would try to weasel out of it another day, so despite the rain, they were chopping wood. All three of them.
The older male would have left the two of them to it, but Makai hadn’t phased yet, and so he wasn’t as able to withstand the chilly rain as easily as Benji and himself were, with their high body temperatures. So, Koda had grabbed up an axe himself and joined in, since he’d promised that after the not-too-big pile was done, so was their punishment.
It was actually a bit of a mystery. Benji and Briar were twins, not identical, but still similar in their facial features. That’s where the likeness ended. Benji kept his dark brown hair short and spiky, while Briar’s fell a bit longer, framing his face; Benji’s brown eyes often sparkled with mischief or laughter, whereas Briar’s depths were warm and held none of the mischief that his brother’s did. Benji was the more athletic and wild of the two, while Briar was the quieter and sweeter one.
With such differences, it wasn’t abnormal for one to phase before the other. The mystery was why, when Benji had phased more than a year and a half ago, had Briar still not phased. The twins were eighteen now, and while there wasn’t any certain age when phasing occurred, Koda was surprised that there was such a gap between the phasing ages of the twins. Not that he was an expert on the when’s and why’s of phasing.
“Yay! Benji’s got the last log!” Makai’s excited statement brought Koda from his musings with a smile. The boy was only fifteen, and he still had an air of childishness about him that was endearing. As Koda turned his head, Benji brought down his axe with a satisfying sound, a pleased expression on his face. Following that, two pairs of expectant eyes locked on him and Koda couldn’t help but roll his own. Reaching out, he mussed their wet hair with his hands, laughing softly.
“Okay, you two are off the hook. Just be more careful next time. We know it was an accident, and I’m sure Margo will get over it soon. She’s dyed it black and rinsed it dark-blonde, I don’t think bright-orange, er, highlights are going to kill her.” Makai nodded eagerly. Koda raised an eyebrow at Benji, “And don’t tease her about it. If you do, you deserve whatever she does to you.”

It. Fear. Desire. Sweat. Fear. Four males. Him.
Jett could sense it again, but this time, things were different. He was sure that the something or someone he had been sensing all this time, was actually a him. A person, a male.
Fear was an overwhelming scent in the air. He could make out a fast-beating heart, like that of a scared rabbit. Make that two rabbits. Which put the odds at either two-against-two, or three-against-one. Perspiration, probably brought on by fear, mixed in with the rain that was likely dripping down their unshielded forms.
At this point, Jett was running inhumanly fast through the trees, his body screaming for him to let the wolf in him out. Not yet. He knew he was approaching the small group of humans, and the sounds that his more-than-average hearing could pick up made his blood boil. Whimpers. The gasping, uneven breaths of someone scared.
He topped the hill just as he heard clothing being ripped and a soft frightened cry. Looking down, his black eyes took in the two figures that had the third trapped between them. The fourth male was a few feet away, his arm outstretched towards the group, as if he were going to intervene. A growl worked it’s way up Jett’s throat, and when the brunette’s hands continued to unwelcomingly grope at the boy, he lost it.
Jett was a blur as he raced down the hill, and in the mere seconds it took him to reach the bottom, he was a wolf. The fear shot up, coming from all four now, instead of just two. He knew that his form was intimidating, but he wasn’t thinking much at the moment. In a flurry of movement he knocked into the dark haired male that was holding the younger boy captive. Without pause, he whipped around and struck at the other, sending him flying into a tree.
The scared boy fell to the ground as Jett turned on the fourth male. The blonde was deathly-white, his brown eyes wide. Just as the wolf lashed out, the boy made a protesting sound, and Jett felt arms wrap around one of his legs. The distraction resulted in a small slash across the fourth male’s face; nothing else.
The rain continued to pour down on them. Jett was faintly aware of the blonde slipping away, the other two laying unconscious on the ground. Two slender arms were still locked around his leg as it shifted from a furred limb, to human flesh. Jett stood for a moment, unmoving, allowing himself to calm down. The shivering he could feel in the form now pressed against his leg finally got him moving.
Bending down, Jett gently unhooked the boy’s arms from around his leg, shifting the light form until the boy was kneeling, supported by Jett’s grip; one hand on his shoulders, the other curled around his waist. The younger male slowly lifted his head, and their eyes met.
Heat flooded through Jett, strong and intense, a glowing heat. In that one instant, only one thing mattered, and that was the boy in his arms. Jett couldn’t tear his obsidian eyes from those dark brown orbs, and a part of him never wanted to. It was as if a million threads were tying the two of them together, willing them to be connected forever. Jett felt it in every molecule of his body, and he knew then, he’d found what he’d been searching for.
Suddenly the body in his arms went limp, the boy going unconscious. Jett adjusted his hold, so that the young male wouldn’t end up on the muddy ground. His own head was whirling pretty badly as he knelt there in the forest, his hot body temperature keeping him warm enough in the rain. He held the boy close, wanting to let his small frame soak up the heat as well. Worry set in. Jett needed to get them some place dry.
Pushing himself up, he cradled the boy in his arms with a tenderness he didn’t think to question, and headed in the direction of the village. His world had been spun on it’s axis, and the center of his universe, his mate, was now in his arms, easily able to make his heart beat wildly; conscious or unconscious.
Imprinted. Jett had imprinted.
