AN – Review answering
reaper07 - - You are very welcome! This is what I mean when I say feedback helps you improve. I am glad you are still with me! :D I am happy you didn’t find the change in POV’s annoying, I have been reading some fics and I see it’s recurrent to do so, and I didn’t want it to be bad. Yeah, poor Jacob has his mind all over the place, and he IS young, we can’t forget that. So this kind of thing would really confuse him I think. I love the tension between them. I keep biting my lip when I write LOL!
Ultra - Here it is, fresh out of the oven! I love writing Jacob’s POV, he’s fun to work with *snickers*. Trying hard to win her over? It’s an idea. Let’s see how it works out… *winks*
Courtney - *bows* Can’t say anything else than thank you from the bottom of my heart. You don’t know how that speaks volumes to me. Thank you. Really.
Bee - Was about to update when I saw this review. Made me so happy I am still smiling like an idiot! Thank youu! About the questions… ahaha! Guess you will have to stick around and find out! *winks*
I am positively amazed by how people are taking Lis. Normally OC’s are not well taken within the universe’s lovers, no matter the fandom.
Now: On with the fic.
-**Public Places**- /Jacob’s POV
She sighed, after the small laughing moment. She was still hiding behind the tree, playing with my fingers. After the initial pain killing sensation, I just wanted to pull her to me.
This was getting ridiculous. I was good enough not to phase in a snap when emotions grabbed me, and the sight and scent of this woman made me go ballistic? I needed to control this. I breathed in deeply. Maybe it was because I was hungry. And tired. I haven’t slept for more than two days now… Actually I tried my best not to fall asleep, unless I was downright exhausted. Dreamless sleep was something I really would like to have, but escaped me like grains of sand through my fingers. A yawn took me by surprise.
“Jake? Hey, are you sleeping?”
“Almost. Haven’t been able to sleep for a while now…”
“Oh!” She seemed surprised. “Huh… Can I…” She inched closer, and my eyes caught her face, half hidden by the tree. She was biting her lip, her hand still laced with mine. “…come closer?”
She looked like a two year old again.
“I don’t know. Depends on the way the wind blows…” I chuckled. How weird did that sound? She creased her eyebrows.
“You’re not making any…” And she hesitated. “…sense…” She derailed. She seemed to be putting something together in her mind. “Oh!” She blinked twice, shaking her head. “Nah…”
I raised an eyebrow. Did she got what I meant?
“It’s… my… smell?” She was unsure, looking at me behind her long bangs.
I thought about it myself.
“I think so.”
“Whoa… That is just…”
“Freak material, I told you.”
“Not really. I mean, we all function by smell. I still remember my mother’s smell. I loved that smell.” She smiled. Then bit her lip again. “It was kind of easy to figure out. I… well, to be honest, I thought you were going to kill me just about the time you… huh… don’t get me wrong, smelt me.”
I remembered. Oh, did I. The urge to pull her to me was wining. And the wind wasn’t even in favour. Just the memory of it. She tapped her fingers over the back of my hand, and I made myself breath deeper.
I could catch it. Her scent. Now. Over the smell of grass and trees.
“This is going to be… fucking hard.” I didn’t even got the swear word until it was out.
“Wait, if you didn’t sleep… Did you eat something at least?” She sounded worried. Almost laughed as she dismissed the improper word. “Where are you staying?”
“No and right now… huh… here.” Don’t think about the will to pounce. Do not think. Think ice cold showers.
She jumped closer, now her whole torso visible to me.
“What? How?” Her shirts were dishevelled. Politicians. Think butt ugly politicians.
“I’ve been looking for you since I got another train and got back here.” Following your scent. Oh, ok, huh… Cliff diving. Arg, no… huh. Leah when we phased back. Eww, that was just awkward.
“Oh! I’m sorry…”
“Don’t be.” Lovey dovey Quill. Entertaining.
A strange buzzing sound was heard again. She nearly jumped, her hand sliding from mine as she got her cellphone again from her back pocket.
“Man, it’s Norma…” She sighed, and flipped it open.
“Why didn’t you answer me before?” I could hear the dark hair girl’s voice.
“Hi to you too!”
“Hi, do you know what time it is?”
“Yeah, I am going to be a tad late.”
“Zoh My GOD you’re with him still aren’t you? I am so sorry! That’s why you didn’t answer me! AHHH! You are doing the nasty aren’t you?” I looked at her as she listened intently and suddenly gasped, her cheeks turning a pale pink, at the last question.
“I am not!” Her green eyes caught mine and the pale pink went darker.
“You are too, I can hear it!”
“I’m in the park! Seriously Norma… Just shut it. Will be there in twenty or so.” And she flipped it close angrily. I caught the snickering laughter on the other side of the line before she did so. I realized I was laughing when she looked at me fiercely.
“What?”
“You have serious whiplash mood swings.” At least the whole situation was making me laugh and not think about… things.
“Ah ah, funny. Maybe Jane should have a damned shotgun.” I chuckled low, my body asking for rest. All this… emotional stress was taking a toll on me. And I felt my stomach grumble.
“Wouldn’t really mind, even if it was a lead lunch.”
She rolled her eyes, getting up. “Well… Jane’s is out of the question so…” She sighed, her hands over her waist as she seems to be thinking hard about something. Her brow was furrowed still when she stated. “Follow me.”
I got up and we went to the stone bench where I had dropped both my backpack and her bag.
We got them and walked out the park.
“Jake… ok, I am going to take you to my house. I have food there, the refrigerator is stocked. You can… crash there. Huh…”
Me. In her house. Oh man. Even if I didn’t have anywhere to go, it seemed like a bad idea.
I grabbed her hand, making her stop, eyes searching for hers. She was blushing.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea. I mean… We…”
“Well…” She still had the blush on. Don’t need to say it wasn’t helping me. “…at least it’s not a public place!” She rushed the words, pulling my hand, looking forward, her bangs covering her eyes.
The comment on public places made me think about our previous “incidents” (seemed like a better word than immensely delusional sanity wrecking/hormone crazed moments) and what I would be able to do if I didn’t have to think that someone could see us. One thing is disregarding people like they didn’t exist; another deal was not having anyone to worry about as a premise.
A small smile spread on my lips as her words took me at the same time on an ego rush and a blood one.
She… wanted it?
Oh crap.
I don’t know whether to smile or to be nervous. Settled with a blend of both.
“You need to sleep and get some food in your stomach.” She looked back at me, still walking. “You need to feed.” She nodded once and continued walking.
I had to admit though; she was right in a way. And there weren’t that many options anyway. I do need to get some rest. I was… exhausted. And my mind wasn’t functioning right; I definitely needed to sleep.
“Point given.” I conceded.
“Damn straight.”
Not right indeed; she was still pushing me in tow, and it gave me a wonderful view of her back. Meaning side. Backside. Those pants were nice.
Ice.
Cold.
Shower.
I gave one wider step to walk beside her. Yep, this was better.
She stopped after a while, close to the front steps of a small two store building, letting go of my hand to get her keys from her bag.
“The top floor is mine. Family heritage.” Her voice dripped with sarcasm. “The other one is vacant for now, usually I rent it, but the last tenant was a little… huh… careless.”
She didn’t seem happy, and I didn’t ask. She unlocked the front door and motioned me inside. The hall was simple, with one door directly to the right; a small flight of stairs leading to another door. She started to go up the stairs. Silent. Her expression was guarded; I couldn’t read her at all.
She opened the door.
“My domain.” She chuckled mildly. Looked a little embarrassed.
I didn’t quite get it, until I entered the spacious studio. Oh.
The first thing I noted were the colours. Earth colours. Then the theme of the decoration. She had mixed a lot of Native American props in her home; the enormous rug that covered the floor, Navajo by the look of it; a giant dream catcher on the wall parallel to the couch, a three set of drums, growing in size from right to left…
She closed the door, her teeth worrying her lower lip, leaning her back against the wooden surface. I raised an eyebrow at her.
Ok, this was just too good to pass up.
“Feels like home.” I said a bit sarcastically, letting my backpack slide from its place on my shoulder to the floor, catching it and letting it fall on the floor beside me.
“Screw you.” She shifted from being embarrassed to pissed. It was amazing how she did that. I chuckled, and caught the sight of the bed, partially hidden by a leather folding screen. And renewed laughter when I saw the huge painting that extended through the whole wall.
Wolves.
Tons of wolves.
It even had a russet one close to her nightstand.
“Don’t you get nightmares with that over you when you sleep?” I pointed with my thumb towards the wall.
She gave me a fake smile and opened the door.
“Out.”
“Well, I know who’s not afraid of the big bad wolf…” I said thoughtfully, walking towards her, smiling at how annoyed she looked. There were practically sparks flying out of her eyes. When I caught the double sense of my words my smile grew wider.
“Out!” Her voice rouse in pitch and it only made me laugh harder.
I stopped close to her and set my hand over the door, closing it, as I gave a step closer looking at her. She gave a step back, almost colliding with the wall behind her. She crossed her arms over her chest, jaw clenched, and… oh man, was her eyebrow twitching?
“I’m sorry but… you have to admit, it is kind of hilarious.” I smiled apologetically, my hand still over the wooden door. Seems I was right before, she liked Native American paraphernalia.
“You don’t know how hard it was to bring you here! I mean… ARG!” She growled at me. That was just damned cute. “Couldn’t you just shut it and ask where the food was?”
I stared at her, trying not to betray my will to smile wider. It seemed that when we were having these little disputes, I didn’t want to jump at her… Well, at least not as hard.
“What!” She asked impatiently.
“Waiting for you to stomp your foot.” Smirk to top it off. I couldn’t help it. Seriously.
Her eyes closed in menacing slits.
“Jacob Black, I am warning you…”
Oh oh. No, no, focus Jake.
She seemed to see something in my face and suddenly her expression went from pissed to guarded. Her lips opened twice to talk. She didn’t. I could feel the tension rising again between us. Her eyes were roaming over mine rapidly. She bit her lip, her arm snapping to the side, her eyes downcast.
“Food is there.” It came out breathed.
I didn’t move. She was… was she fighting against the will to… She wanted it just as badly didn’t she?
I can’t really express what was going on with me this moment. It was just insane. One thing was me wanting, for some wolfish reason, to grab her. Another thing was she wanting me too. Because she did, didn’t she? She hadn’t said anything about it, other than she thought I was going to kill her… But, what happened in the park… The look in her eyes…
This might seem stupid, but I could feel my muscles swell, with the memories only.
“I need to go to the store, Norma is waiting for me…” She still wasn’t able to look at me, her hand going to the doorknob. I let my arm fall, fighting with everything in me to snatch her up in my arms. I needed to think. My stomach was still growling with my mind that it wanted food. It was the leverage I needed. I made myself step back.
She stepped forward, opening the door, sliding gracefully to the space between it and the threshold.
“I’ll be home about seven.” She looked up at me behind her bangs. Hesitation, for a moment. Felt like that moment in the coffee shop, when Jane called her.
“Promise I won’t break anything.” I practiced a smile. Came out half.
She let out a breath I didn’t even realise she was holding.
“You better, I would have to get that shotgun that Jane doesn’t own…”
That ripped a true smile from me, which mirrored in her face too. She opened her mouth to speak again, but she didn’t; she just smiled a little wider and slid past the door, closing it.

“Stop beating so hard damn it. My God. He’s in my house. I… I… What’s wrong with me? Will he be staying with me? Jay… I never once gave in to the idea of moving in with Jay before we got married. What is this? If Norma hadn’t called… If she wasn’t waiting for me… I didn’t leave him keys! Oh man I sure hope he doesn’t break something, I will spank him if he does. Humm, spank… NO! Stop it Elisa Wolfe! Stop stop stop… Where is my cell? Oh backpocket. Here it is… Stop stop stop! Think about it later. At seven. Oh GOD he is in my house!!! Shit. Oh man. Norma. I’m so screwed… He’s such a jackass. I love it when he is like that, even if it pisses me off. In a good way. Is there something like being pissed off in good way? Damn, the sun is hurting my eyes. Breathe Elisa. What if I come home and he’s not there? No, no no no. He will be there. Stop worrying so much. Oh man my shirts… My hair! It’s probably all mussed up! Norma. I am never going to hear the end of this…”
And she continued heading for the store, for the hundred questions séance Norma had been preparing, fingers combing her hair.

I took my hand from the door, that had been there as I listened to her stepping down the stairs and out the front door. Looked around to the painted wall, my eyes sliding through the whole composition; It was amazing. Did she do that? My eyes were drawn again to the russet wolf, painted almost as it was protecting the headboard.
Food.
I looked at my left to see the kitchen. Not too big, but not small either. Found the bread easily enough; she has one of those bread boxes that had the word written on it. Went to the fridge. She wasn’t lying. There was food here worthy of Emily’s kitchen. I felt my heart sink a bit as I remembered. I wonder how they are…
I sat down at the wooden table close to the window, separated from the living room by another of those leather folding screens, entertaining myself with my impromptu made sandwich. That seemed to make my stomach happy. And my mind drifted back to La Push.
Dad. And Sam must be damn pissed at me… And Paul… Quill. Damn it. La Push meant Forks, and my mind surely switched to Bella again.
How was she?
Is she sad?
She knows I left by now, it’s been nearly a month since I left, never looking back, trying to get away from her. From this pain. I feel my hand going to my chest, on automatic. Shit.
I got up, trying to ban her from my head.
Spotted the bathroom. The only door apart from the front door, so it must be it.
I got up, grabbing my bag on the way, and went to it. A shower before I crashed: it had been too long since I was able to shower properly.
Got undressed, letting a pile of clothes over a small basket, and turned the water on, getting inside the tub and sliding the curtain. Little white feathers all over it.
My mind kept going to the same place, so I willed it blank, as the cold water (I didn’t let it heat before) slowly warmed, making me grunt a bit as the strong jets of water kneaded my sour muscles. Oh man, this felt so good. My hands found the tiles in front of me, just letting the water massage me. I am so tired. I am so damned tired. Turned the water off and slid out, grabbing a white fluffy towel from the rack, pulling a pair of shorts from my backpack and sliding them on.
Walked barefoot to the bed. Huge bed. I could easily sleep there without having some part of me dangling out of it. I thought if it was appropriate, but my body chose before my mind did. I crashed over it and it complained by creaking.
I really hope I didn’t break it.
Sleep was clouding my mind, as my eyes blinked a couple of times. I don’t want to think about Bella. Please, I just want to rest… I inhaled sharply as I waited for the pain to come, but I caught her scent on the covers. Lis. I inhaled again, my mind trying to discern a word for her smell, but it was lost in a haze of sleep.

AN – Again sorry for the input in the middle of this. Lis’s mind is a wreck, and it seemed appropriate to have a sneak peek of it at that particular time. Narrator POV.
Do not worry, there is smut to come. I am just a development freak, even if I try to rush things, I can’t. Keep writing and writing. LOL. Besides, Jacob showering is just too good to pass up. Can’t convey the deliciousness properly since it’s his POV, but you can always make your imagination run wild. Mine did. Yum. *coughs*
I don’t quite have schedule for my updates, it all depends on my reviews *swoons* and the time I have out of work.
Oh, also: if you find any mistakes, please do tell: I go through it a couple of times, but since English is not my mother language, sometimes I screw it up, for which I am sorry.
Same warning as last chapters apply. More reviews the faster I write. It is awesome to have feedback, it makes me immensely happy.
Love to all
