Sunlight painted the scene as two large fighting forces stood on opposite sides of a grassy field that would surely be stained with blood this day. A call to charge was ordered, but no one could or would remember who exactly gave that order.
The two armies met, swords clashing angrily. Tirian and Peter at the front of their army, and Rishda and his second at the head of theirs. And, at the back of these great armies stood on one side Aslan, and on the other, Tash.
The godlike creatures seemed to be contented to let the mortals settle the matter, but Tash let out a challenging cry and the lion roared back. The two charged, the armies parting like water, to allow the two to meet.
The two circled, gauging and judging their opponent's defenses. Neither blinked, nor did either make a sudden move to attack.
"Admit it, I have forced you to break your own rules. Your chosen to defeat Jadis had to return to combat my chosen. However, can they do what must be done? For the only way to claim victory now is to destroy my temple in Tashbaan, and your army will not make it to that point."
"You talk as if you've already won, Tash," Aslan retorted.
"And why shouldn't I? My subjects are ready to kill all of yours. Are yours ready to kill every single Calormene?"
"Killing every single Calormene will not be necessary."
"Oh yes, the whore with the sword has joined your side."
"It was your people that tried to force themselves upon her," Aslan growled.
"She needed to be put in her place. You ought to know that when a child is disobedient that they must be punished, and she needed to be punished."
"There is a line between punishment and torture," Aslan countered.
"I see no difference," Tash relayed calmly. Had Aslan been any less of what he was, that statement would have sent him into a flying fit of rage. As he was, he stayed calm, but was becoming highly aggravated with the being before him.

"Your blade is just that, a blade! My own blade has been blessed by Lord Tash and his powers cannot be overcome by a mortal Narnian barbarian like yourself," Rishda proclaimed as sword and scimitar met and clanged over and over again.
"Your blade might have been blessed by Tash, but the wielder is mortal!" Peter retorted.

"They are like roaches! Kill one and another dozen come crawling out of the wall!" Shazarraah roared. She and Edmund were just to the left of Peter, fighting up at front.
"Almost as hard to kill as well!" Edmund grunted out. The two were having the most success so far, besides the archers of course. A whooshing sound caught their attention and the pair saw flaming arrows flying from the Calormene side over to their own.
888
"Oh dear," Lucy said, seeing that the Calormenes were meaning to set them a blaze.
"Archers! Show them that they aren't the only ones who will play with fire!" Susan ordered. At this, flaming arrows were traded between the two armies.
888
"You see? Look what this war is doing to your honored kings and queens. This battle is hardening them to the point where you cannot continue to support them! You lost them and you'll lose Narnia as well! And, if you continue to support them, then your own father will turn his back on you!"
This was the lion's undoing. He attacked and the two went to fighting.
888
"What do you think of your demonic lion now?" Rishda taunted.
"It is Tash that is the demon," Peter spat back. A cry was let out and Tirian fell. The Calormene soldier was about to finish the king off when from the air, Shazarraah took the Calormene's life. No one would question Shazarraah's allegiances after this battle.
'I guess that leaves me in full command. Aslan, help us all," Peter thought as he continued to fight.
888
Minutes seemed like hours in that hell that was a battle field. The two sides tore at one another in order to destroy their enemy. The armies' fighting was reflected in the battle between Aslan and Tash. Finally though, the Calormenes were forced to retreat. Though, they took even more losses from the Narnian archers who rained down arrows in their retreat.
888
"Tirian will recover, but it will take some time. We got off lightly," Peter reported to Aslan. Silence greeted him and Peter was tempted to ask, but didn't. If the lion wanted to say something then he would speak. If not, then Peter wouldn't press the matter.
"I shall return shortly. Once everyone can move, start trying to slowly push their army back out of Narnia. Once they are out, we shall consider our next move," the lion said and vanished.
"Now where the bloody..." Peter began but bit his lip. The weight of command was back on his shoulders, but now, instead of facing Jadis or some other lesser threat, he was facing an army that was lead by a demon.
888
"You came on your own...I thought your father would have to call on me to retrieve you if he needed to speak with you," the white tiger said. Aslan just walked by him and the other cat followed.
"If the battle didn't go well, I would understand you being here, but if it went well, then there should be no reason why you need to speak with your father."
"Is my business so important to you?"
The tiger smiled, "I knew I could get you to say something," he said still smiling.
888
He was sore. In fact, he couldn't remember ever being this sore in his life. However, relief came from those long, nimble fingers of Jadis. He was beginning to realize that maybe having her around wasn't going to be as bad as he first thought.
"I will make sure that I'm near that enchanted blade next time you fight him," she began.
"You haven't learned enough light magic to do anything."
"Serving you is proving to be a great motivator," she replied and a shiver ran up Peter's spine. It wasn't out of fear, but something else. Something he quickly suppressed. He wouldn't go down that road, not with her.
888
"Ass of an ass!" Shazarraah snarled as her back snapped and popped.
"Well, if you wouldn't do such complex sword movements then you wouldn't be in this position, but I'm enjoying it," Edmund said while rubbing her back.
"Don't enjoy yourself too much," she growled.
"At least everyone now knows that you are on our side."
"Like I'd be some sort of a spy. They wouldn't train up a woman to do this," Shazarraah hissed.
"Would they disguise a male to..."
"No, and you Narnians would have to be completely stupid if you couldn't see through that," she replied. She sighed and sat up to kiss him.
"Well, at least I can say that you are a girl," Edmund let out and Shazarraah growled and the two started wrestling on the floor.
