A/N: Yay!!! I'm back! A combination of writer's block, personal problems, computer problems, and college problems had prevented me from updating for a long while. But now I'm finally back into the swing of things!
I need all the encouragement I can get to continue, so please, R/R! Thank you.

It was a well-known fact in Neverland that the pirates were going to attack the Indian village that day. But Peter, looking for an adventure to share with Lily, had spoken with the savages, and had come to an agreement with them that he and the lost boys would take care of the pirates instead. Lily smiled to herself as she readied her blade, practicing her parries and thrusts as the other boys armed themselves. A proper English lady was not supposed to practice swordsmanship, let alone actually use a blade against other people, and the delicious thrill of the forbidden sang through her veins.
She heard a jangling and turned to see Peter conversing with the little sprite that he had a while back. Lily still could not understand how Peter was able to make out anything sensible from the tiny shimmering figure, but for seem reason he was able to comprehend her. Lily got the distinct impression that the pixie was not happy with her, but she still wasn’t sure why. There was something about her leaving, but Lily had no desire to leave. She could no longer really remember what had been before Neverland, but there was a vague feeling of unpleasantness that came over her when ever she tried to remember. All she knew was that she had no wish to return to wherever that was.
Today Tinkerbell was acting as scout for the pirate-hunting party, and Peter relayed the message, with authority, that it was expected that the pirates would arrive at The Hill at noon. It was lucky for everyone that Tinkerbell had quickly interjected when speaking to Peter that noon was the time the sun was highest in the sky, for otherwise they might have arrived too early, which meant they would soon become bored without pirates to fight, or too late, which meant that they would miss the fun altogether.
As they made their way to the appointed battlefield, Lily again felt the tingling excitement throughout her body. At the sound of the pirate haunting tune as they came to the crest of the hill, it increased to the point that Lily felt her fingertips and her toes might explode to let the energy expel itself. Peter motioned to everyone else to remain silent. The Pirates could of course see them, but custom dictated that not until halfway down The Hill would the battle begin, and then only when Peter had made the first move.
When the small group of brigands had made it halfway, Peter let out a thunderous crow, and the battle began. Lily ran up with the rest of the boys and attacked the first pirate she saw, getting a clean cut across his belly. His entrails spilled out onto the ground in a mass of blood and bile, and the man’s eyes took a moment to register the fact that he was dead before he slumped down on top of them.
Lily’s eyes opened wide, nearly the size of dinner plates and she suddenly felt a wrenching feeling in her own belly as she loosed her breakfast on the green grass of The Hill. She felt her knees buckle and hit the ground, a terrible shaking having overcome her entire body. She looked around her, and the boys and the pirates continued their conflict without a single look at her. A momentary look at Bones showed the skinny boy running one bandit through on his sword, pausing in his fight only a moment to wipe the blade on the man’s shirt.
With another great heave, her stomach tried to evacuate even though there was nothing left to dispose of, and her body was wracked in excruciating dry heaves. As she remained fixed to her spot, her eyes shut tightly against the pain, she did not see the black faced man that came behind her, his sword ready to attack. She was flung out of the way as Peter made a flying strike, neatly severing the man’s head from his body. The head rolled onto the ground, the lifeless eyes looking at her in an everlasting impression of surprise.
“What’s the matter, Lily?” Peter looked at her in confusion. “Why didn’t you get him? You did a great job with that first one, dispatched him right proper.”
Lily just shook her head, still afraid to open her mouth lest something other than words came out. It took a moment, but eventually she responded. “It’s… nothing, Peter. I just need to go back to the tree. Perhaps… perhaps I ate some bad neverberries.”
She began stumbling off, unable to fly in this condition, even with Peter so near.
Peter placed an arm around her shoulder. “Don’t worry then,” he grinned. “I’ll just have to get more pirates to pick up your slack. I’ll see you when we’re done here, okay?”
Lily merely nodded and continued along her way, holding her stomach with one hand and steadying herself against trees with the other. Her throat burned and her stomach felt like it was thumping right along with her sped-up heart. She needed to be home and drink some water.
**************
Hidden in the trees, no one noticed him as he watched the clash between the pirates and the Lost Boys. He studied Pan’s movements carefully, noting each one in detail so that, when the situation arose, he would be ready for the boy’s techniques. To be honest his swordsmanship wasn’t really that exceptional, but the ability to take flight at any given moment gave him a clear advantage against his foes. Aerial maneuvering was not taught by any of the tutors he had had.
He didn’t even notice the black-haired girl that fought alongside Peter and the boys until a little bit later. Her modified pirate’s garb had blended her in quite well. With a lascivious lick of his lips, he took in the curve of the girl’s hips and the gentle swell of her bosom. She was nothing like anything he’d seen in Neverland, and she was beautiful even for a girl outside of the island. It had been a very long time since he had seen anyone so delightfully female, so soft and vulnerable as this in a very long time.
He observed Peter’s actions around her, mentally taking note of his somewhat solicitous behavior towards her. This would prove to be an interesting development, interesting indeed.
