Ehlonna entered the tent she shared with her mate, a smile on her face. Her and Brielle had had a nice chat, before she’d gone to Teak’s and given the old man the tea he’d requested. The elder had seemed quite happy and set to making himself some of it right away, with a polite smile and warm thanks.
Her lover looked up when she came in, and Lonna couldn’t help but give him a ‘did you seriously think I didn’t know what all that was about’ look, causing Dakoda to duck his head sheepishly. Pfft. Men. Walking over to where he sat on the bed, the redhead stood before him, her arms crossed over her chest.
“I know exactly why the old man wanted us out of the room, and it certainly wasn’t because he wanted some tea.” Shaking her head she reached out her hands, running them through Koda’s dark brown locks. “Both you and him thought that I wasn’t any the wiser, but really, we women are just smart enough to know when to play along with your plans, if it suits us. And in that case, Jett needed to hear whatever Teak had to say, so that he’d go officially meet his mate.”
Taking hold of one of her hands, Koda lifted it to his lips and placed a kiss on it, before he smiled up at her, “I had an idea that you picked up on things, since I’ve always know that you are as smart as you are beautiful, my love.” Laughing softly, Lonna leaned down and dropped a kiss on his lips.
Their sweet interactions were disturbed, however, when there was a commotion from outside. Frowning slightly, Ehlonna went to the entrance and stepped out enough to take in the scene. Before she could draw a conclusion about what was happening, Benji and Makai ran past, the latter informing her as he passed, “Melody’s here!” Oh goodness, not that brat.
And speaking of the devil, or rather thinking of the brat; there she was. Head full of light honey brown curls that cascaded down past her shoulders and emerald green eyes. The only noticeable feature she’d gotten from her mother, who was Native American, was her naturally darker skin tone. Melody was Elder Ruue’s granddaughter.
The teen had showed up a few years ago, wanting to meet the grandfather she‘d never known, due to her mother marrying outside the tribe, and moving to live with her husband. Melody wasn’t. . . . .horrible. But she’d been raised with money, which had her spoiled her a bit. She did have a good heart, but wasn’t too bright sometimes and, on top of it all; she had an annoying crush on Jett. Which made her overly friendly, easily jealous, and quiet persistent.
Which is exactly the quality she was executing now. Ehlonna’s slate grey eyes narrowed when Melody began to make her way to Jett’s door, probably intent on figuratively pouncing on the unsuspecting male. So not going to happen. Jett and his newly imprinted needed time together. And Lonna was going to make sure they got it.

Geiarrvoew woke with a start, instantly feeling the cold. He’d fallen asleep in his car, waiting for Eden. Frowning worriedly, he stretched his arms, groaning softly at the slight soreness in them from sleeping in such a position. Then, it was time to face the fact that Eden hadn’t turned up. Where was his nephew?
When the grey haired man let his eyes drift over the trees before him, he had to do a double take when he saw a figure looking back at him from behind one of the tall trunks. Gasping and filled with hope, he got out of the car as quick as he was able, and moved towards the forest. Instantly he realized it couldn’t be Eden, for the boy turned and ran, even after seeing Arrvo. But he still called out, “Wait! Please! I’m looking for my nephew!”
He stopped, knowing he’d only get lost if he ventured into the woods, but he silently hoped that the unknown person would turn back. Somehow or other, the other male had stealthily made his way back without notice, for he stepped out cautiously from Arrvo’s far right. It was a young boy with dark brown hair and russet skin, who looked to be in his mid-teens.
“Hello, I’m Geiarrvoew Summers. I’m looking for my nephew, Eden. He disappeared in these woods sometime last night.” Arrvo saw that his nephew’s name didn’t spark any recognition, but when he spoke the next sentence, the young boy’s eyes widened slightly. “Have you seen him?” A small nod. “Please, I’m just worried about him.”
“I’ve only seen him once.” The boy’s voice was quiet, as if still unsure. “Jett found him in the woods. He’s back at the village, but. . . .” he hesitated, glancing up at Arrvo for a moment, before dropping his eyes again, shuffling his feet, “I don’t know if I’m allowed to take you there.” Village? Could it be that Eden had been found by one of the local Indian tribes?
“No, no. I understand.” Arrvo was immensely relieved to hear of his nephew. “Uhm, just a moment.” He quickly moved back to the car and dug around for a pen and paper, before jotting something down on it, and turning back to the boy. “This is the hotel we’re staying at, our room number and the telephone number as well. Please have him contact me. I want to know that he is okay.” The boy took the scrap of paper, nodding his head, and then took off without a word.
Arrvo was still slightly worried, but he had a feeling that Eden was in good hands. Besides, he didn’t want to trespass, nor did he want to get the young boy in trouble for taking him to the village when he shouldn’t have, and if he tried to go alone he’d probably just get himself lost without a guide. At least he’d heard word of his nephew. All he could do now was go back to the hotel, and await a call.

“Who is he?” Melody’s voice was filled with dislike, her hands now on her hips, emerald eyes staring poisonously at the boy in front of Jett.
She was clad in flats, a flowing knee length skirt with a flower print, a white tank top and a light weight blue jean jacket. Her intentions were probably to appear sweet and simple, while still managing to pull off stunning. It wasn’t working right now. Sure, she was pretty. But with the jealously in her eyes and venom in her voice, Melody was not pulling off sweet.
But her question left Jett feeling a little defenseless. He didn’t know the name of the cute boy he had his arm around. So he couldn’t confidently reply, since he lacked the knowledge. And he knew Melody would just eat that up, and try to use it to separate the two males. Not going to happen.
And apparently Ehlonna had the same idea, because the crimson curl bearing woman showed up, like a red-haired angel sent to save Jett from Medusa. He’d always thought that when Melody was upset or jealous, with her narrowed green eyes, venomous words, and long coily tresses; that she might as well as be a stony gazed woman with a head full of snakes. It was a nickname that stuck, because he wasn’t the only one who called her that. Not to her face though.
“Why hello, Melody.” Jett had never been so glad to have Lonna around.
The emerald eyed girl’s back stiffened, before she turned and greeted the other female through gritted teeth, “Hello Ehlonna.” The two stared each other down for several moments, before Melody lowered her eyes. But it only lasted a second, before she recovered, clearing her throat and forcing a smile onto her face, “I was just going to tell Jett all about the wedding that I went to.”
“Oh, I’m sure Brielle and I are much more interested in such things. Why don’t I put on some tea, and you can tell us all about it. We’ll leave this pair alone, look at the cutie; not even fully dressed yet.” Ehlonna winked playfully at the boy, smiling widely, “I must say, dear, you look darling in just that shirt of Jett’s.”
Jett really did love her sometimes. Not only was Lonna saving him from Medusa, she knew just what to say to push Melody’s buttons. Her face had been getting redder by the second, and now she was visibly seething with unreleased jealously. Deciding to stir the fire up some more, Jett slid his other arm around the boy’s waist as well, and leaned down to nuzzle the side of his neck. “Doesn’t he?”
“Who-” Before Melody could begin to grill him for information, Ehlonna grabbed the girl by her arm and pulled her out the door, gently but with a firm grip. She smiled at Jett before closing the door behind her. Thank goodness.
Now they were alone again. The thought sent Jett’s heart aflutter, and he unconsciously tightened his arms around the boy, before he realized what he was doing and reluctantly let go. Turning away, he ran a hand through his hair, “Sorry about that. Melody. . . .is a handful. And rather persistent.” Silence.
“She doesn’t know, does she, Jett?” The soft, sweet voice that came from lips he’d wanted to kiss did crazy things to Jett’s insides. And when his name was said, he swore his heart skipped a beat. As he turned back towards the boy, he couldn’t help running his eyes over the back of that slender form clad in just his shirt.
He licked his suddenly dry lips before replying, “Know what?”
“That we imprinted.”
What?!

No way was Benji going to stick around with Medusa around. The short haired wolf was running happily through the forest, enjoying the speed at which he could move, the way the wind moved through his hair, a smile spread over his lips. He felt a bit bad for his leader, but he was just glad it wasn’t him Melody had turned her eyes on.
Suddenly a scent hit his nose, causing Benji to change directions, his young mind already curious. It was a male, somewhere here in the woods, and not someone from his tribe. The scent was unfamiliar to him. Racing through the trees, the wolf-boy eventually came to an area where it was the strongest.
His dark eyes darted over the surrounding area, stopping on a cluster of rocks. Was someone hiding? Quietly he approached, until he was close enough to see under the low tree branches. It was a man. No, studying the blonde’s face, Benji could tell that it was a teenager, like him. Only with a large build and taller form.
What was he doing here? Did he spend the night? It could get quiet chilly at night, and it had been raining yesterday! Was Blondie breathing? Benji artfully crawled into the small space to check for a moving chest, that would signal life. Yes, there it was. Besides, he didn’t smell dead. He smelled. . . .good. Ben rather liked the smell.
Accidentally, his overly warm body brushed up against the human, and the brunette could hardly believe how cold Blondie was! He instantly shifted near, hoping that his own high temperature would help, and was pleased when the other male pressed against him with a quiet murmur. Benji took advantage of his closeness to study the other.
Shortish sun-kissed blonde hair that fell across his face, tanned skin that was a light brown, and a body that appeared to be well toned. There was a recent scratch, about two inches long, across one of his cheeks. It looked deep enough that it would probably scar. The only feature that was a mystery were Blondie’s eyes. Ben found himself wondering what color they were. Blue? Green? Brown? He’d just have to wait and find out. Or, he could wake up the stranger. What if he was lost? Benji could help him.
Leaning over the blonde, and giving in to the urge to brush hair off of his handsome face, Ben gently shook the other male’s shoulder. “Hey, wake up.” Nothing. He shook a little harder. Still nothing. “Come on, Blondie, wake up!” He bent down and blew on those closed eyes as he shook once more. And that did it.
The form beneath him tensed up, and Benji found himself looking down into a pair of warm brown eyes, that were wide with fear. He felt a bit weird then, and must have zoned out or something, because next thing he know, he was the one being shaken. “Uhm, hello? Are you alright?”
“Yeah?” He didn’t sound too sure. “What are you doing out here alone? And you’re really cold, you could get sick. How long have you been hiding here? Is someone after you?” The last question was followed by a soft growl. Ben was already attached to his Blondie. “I’m Benji, who are you?”
“Tucker. And I’d- I’d rather not talk about it.” Benji could tell it was a tender subject, and so he didn’t pry. “I must have fallen asleep here by accident. Where did you come from?” Blondie’s question was accompanied by a shiver, which prompted Ben to move closer, wanting to use his body heat to help.
“I live nearby in this forest, with my tribe. I was taking a run when I came across you. I know! Why don’t you come back with me? That way I can take care of that cut on your face for you, so it won’t get infected. And then we can eat some food, and my dad might have some clothes that will fit you.” Benji turned his puppy eyes on Tucker, hoping it’d work.
“Okay.” Yes! Ben eagerly climbed out of the little group of rocks, then turned to give the other boy a hand. Wow, he was almost as tall as Dante when standing. He knew he’d have to be patient on the way back, since humans couldn’t move as fast, but Benji would help his Blondie along.
They’d gotten about half-way there, when a voice halted the wolf mid-step. “Benji!” Turning around, one hand holding Tucker’s, the brunette knew instantly who it was. Sure enough, Makai was in sight a moment later. “Guess what?! I met a man at the edge of the woods, with grey hair. And he said he was looking for his nephew. I think he knows Jett’s mate!”
“Oh, that’s good news. Are you heading to tell Jett about it?”
“Uh-huh. Wanna come with-” Makai stopped talking when he finally noticed that someone was standing next to Ben. Then his eyes widened slightly as he went all stranger-shy, shoulders hunching and voice lowering, “Who’s he?”
Benji laughed softly, reaching out to ruffle Makai’s hair. “It’s okay, this is Tucker. He’s hurt and spent the night in the cold, so I’m taking him back to the village.” He already knew that the other boy was feeling shy around a stranger, so Ben figured he’d give Makai a reason to run ahead. “Since you’re going now anyways, will you tell Jett I’m bringing someone back with me, and ask Lonna to make up some soup?”
A small nod was all he got before the younger boy was off. “I’m not causing any trouble, am I? Cause I can just go back home, if you point me in the right direction.” Benji tilted his head to look up at Blondie, bound and determined to take the big handsome guy home with him.
“Nope, you’re coming with me.” And with that, he tugged lightly on the hand that was still in his, happy when Tucker followed without a further word.
