Lucinda, Kalima, and Engelina I want to thank you all for enduring with me and my first fic, well actually, I was looking through my old floppy discs the other day, and what do I find, a story! I was so confused, it sounded familiar but it didn't have a name on it and I had to go to the website that I originally posted it to just to make sure it was mine! It was a little ficlet from the fandom of Christine Feehan's Dark series, I just may have to post it here. Also, I do have another Dark Hunter fic that I will be posting, actually I started on a third but never finished it, my LOTR must took over, wasn't planning on writing in that fandom eventhough I love reading the stories, but alas, we are all slaves to our muses *sigh*. At least my writing is better now for it, I am really taking more time and effort in my writing now, since the groups I post to for my LOTR fics really encourage writers to better themselves, so that is a plus. I will stop blathering, I know, I get that way sometimes. Thanks again for all the wonderful comments, you all are the best! *hugs*

Chapter 9

Lilly woke up to an empty bed. Sitting up she connected with Lucan, ‘Lucan?’
‘Hey, you are supposed to be sleeping, beautiful.’
Lilly frowned, ‘Why? Where are you?’
‘I am getting breakfast.’
‘Oh. I could pretend to be asleep when you return,’ Lilly said with a smile.
Chuckling, Lucan said, ‘That is okay. I will be back in a few. But I better find you still naked in bed.’
Lilly shook her head and asked, ‘Is that an order mate?’
‘No just a respectful request.’
Smiling, Lilly demanded, “You had better not be long, and that *is* an order.”
“Yes baby.”
Withdrawing, Lilly thought about their child. She didn’t just want to blurt it out. She wanted to make it special. Grabbing one of Lucan’s shirts Lilly put it on, drinking in his scent. After using the bathroom she just crawled into bed when Lucan came into the room carrying a tray with food and one Lilly flower.
Five feet into the room, Lucan paused, “I thought I said naked.” Lilly just looked at him. Sensing something was up he put the tray down on the dresser and turned to look at Lilly, “What is wrong Lilly?” Lucan asked with concern.
“Come here Lucan and give me your hand,” Lilly said has she held out her hand.
Frowning Lucan walked over to the bed and placed his hand into Lilly’s.
Taking a deep breath Lilly sat up on her knees and placed his hand on her abdomen and connected Lucan, their daughter, and her.
Lucan froze. Staring at his hand he could hardly believe what he felt. Looking up at Lilly he just stared, awestruck.
With tears in her eyes, Lilly said, “I would like you to meet our daughter. Last night when we mated, bonded, we created her. She woke me up early this morning. Can you feel her? She is strong isn’t she?” Lilly watched Lucan. There were many different emotions she was getting from him but he had yet to say anything, “Lucan, say something.” The next thing she knew Lucan grabbed her off the bed and swung her around and around.
“Our child, Lilly you have given me everything. I love you so much,” Lucan laughed and then captured her lips in a devouring kiss. He had never thought to ever find this happiness, this sense of peace.
Laughing, Lilly hugged Lucan to her and said, “You have given me everything that I never thought I would ever have. Lucan I am so happy. I love you, you are my life.”
They sat in bed feeding each other and laughing. They talked about their future and about their baby girl.
When they were finished eating Lilly asked, “Lucan what are we going to do about Edward and Nigel?”

Three months later

Lilly looked at herself in the full length mirror. She barely recognized the woman in the mirror. Lilly thought back on the last few months and how they changed her life. After mating with Lucan they managed to get all of the evidence about Rian from Edward and Nigel. It had been tricky but that was in the past. This was her wedding day. After they dealt with Edward and Nigel Lilly was introduced to the pack. Lilly was shown who and who not to associate with. For the most part they accepted her. Smiling, she looked in the mirror and saw Sela. She had been a great comfort to her. Sela had become the sister she had always wanted.
“Lilly I have something for you,” Sela said as she walked up to Lilly and handed her a blue velvet box.
Taking it from Sela, “You didn’t have to,” Lilly said as she opened the box. Seeing what was inside, a beautiful diamond and emerald necklace, Lilly gasped, “Sela!”
“Lilly you have become so dear to me. Rian helped me to pick it out. He said it matched your eyes. I am so happy you have become part of our family,” Sela said as she tried not to cry.
“Oh Sela, you are going to make me cry and my makeup is going to run. Thank you. It is beautiful. I love you like a sister.” Hugging Sela, Lilly thought of what she could give Sela and a thought came to mind. Taking her hand, Lilly drew Sela to the mirror. “Sela I want to give you something. I need you to be still and let me connect with you.”
Sela frowned but said, “Okay.”
Taking a deep breath Lilly connected with Sela and gave her sight.

Sela gasped, “Lilly what is this?”
Lilly smiled, “You and I. I wanted to let you see how beautiful you are. I wish I could give you sight forever but at least I am able to give this to you.”
A knock came at the door.
“Sela, Lilly, are you ready?” Rian said.
“Rian come in,” Lilly said while she slowly turned Sela and herself to face the doorway.
Rian entered the room and tears fell down Sela’s face at seeing her mate for the first time. Smiling, Sela said, “My love, you are as handsome as I knew you would be.”
Rian frowned, “Sela?”
“Lilly has given be the best gift. She is using her magic to let me see thru her eyes. You look so wonderful,” Sela said, her smile brightening up the whole room.
Sensing Lilly tiring, Sela memorized how Rian looked and told Lilly to break the connection. Sela hugged Lilly and whispered, “I can never thank you enough.”
“It is the least I could do for my sister,” Lilly whispered back, hugging Sela tightly.
“Are we ready?” Sam asked as he entered the room, “What is this, tears on all of your faces? This is supposed to be a happy occasion.”
Carefully wiping at her tears, Lilly said, “These are happy tears.”
Sam, Lilly was so happy that he was here. After all of the problems with Rian were taken care of Lilly and Lucan were talking one afternoon about their future. Lilly had told Lucan that she would very much like to get married by a priest. She said she didn’t need a big wedding but her faith was important to her. So, after they made the arrangements Lilly said she would really love it if Sam could give her away. She could still remember the look on Sam’s face when Lucan transformed into a panther in front of him. Lucan had decided after spending a while in his company that Sam could be trusted with the truth. Lucan also knew that Sam was very important to Lilly.
“We had better hurry or your mate just might decide to come in here and carry you down the isle,” Sam said, taking Lilly’s hand.
Knowing that Lucan just might do that, she rushed everyone out of the room.
While Rian and Sela made their way down the isle Sam looked at Lilly, “Lilly I am so happy that you found a home. Even when you were with me I sensed restlessness in you. You are so happy; I see it in your eyes.”
“Sam you are as close as a father I ever had. I love you so much,” Lilly said as she hugged Sam. When the music started Lilly took Sam’s arm and started down the isle.
‘My beautiful witch,’ Lucan said in her mind.
Sam kissed her on the cheek and placed her hand in Lucan’s. Taking a deep breath Lilly smiled up at Lucan and knew her life was going to be full of happiness because Lucan was everything to her.
