“Come on newborns, time to feed ya” Emmett grinned.

“Feed..?? Oh you mean hunting?” Mike said excited.

“Yep, it is so that you don’t have to depend on the reserve blood and so that you won’t be drawn to human blood” Edward smiled as he helped the newborns to their feet.

Bella grimaced as she thought about hunting but Mike was almost jumping with his excitement. Carlisle led the clan off of the road and into cover.

“Alright you two this is where you learn the art of hunting. First you need to concentrate on the heartbeats around you” Esme instructed.

Mike nodded as he closed his red eyes. The blond could hear many heartbeats around him and gasped. Bella shivered as she also located the heartbeats.

“Next you have to pick which heartbeat to go after. There are no humans here so choose whichever you like” Carlisle smiled.

“Ok……” Mike replied as he turned towards a group of heartbeats.

“Oh! I can smell them” Bella gasped.

“Last thing to do for your crash course lesson is run. These animals can sense us before we get close to them. Sometimes you have to wear them out before you can make the kill” Jasper grinned.

“Bella go with Esme, Emmett, Charlotte and Alice” Edward ordered.

The brunette nodded as she stood with her group. Mike took in a deep breath and could smell a heard of deer.

“Ready?” Edward asked.

“Yeah, so I run? What is the best way to…..umm….take the animal down?” the blond asked back.

“Try to grab them around the neck” Carlisle answered.

Nodding the blond took off running towards the heard of deer with Jasper, Rosalie, Carlisle and Peter for protection and in case the blond needed help. Bella sniffed the air and ran parallel to Mike’s trail with Esme, Emmett, Charlotte and Alice behind her. Mike ran in the middle of the deer herd making the scatter. Growling the blond pounced onto the buck taking him down first. Edward ran after a few of the does and made them run back to Mike where the teen brought down two more.

Bella ran after a large elk as Esme cheered her on. The brunette waited until the large animal tripped before tackling it to the ground. The elk cried out as Bella killed it and drank it’s blood. Mike sat on top of the buck and smiled.

“You did very well” Edward praised.

“If I was human I would be on the ground panting for air, that was an adrenalin rush” Mike grinned before feeding on the deer.

“That is one of the good things about being a vampire, inhuman speed and you don’t have to worry about breathing” Peter smiled as he leaned against a tree.

Mike drank his fill of animal blood and sighed happily. Bella skipped into the feeding grounds with Alice. The blond haired teen left his kills and nuzzled on Edward. The bronze haired teen held the blond close as he nuzzled him back.

Alice leaned against Jasper and closed her gold eyes. Jaz kissed the top of the vampire female’s head as he let his love wash through the pixie. Smiling, the black haired woman cuddled deeper into the statue teen.

Rosalie piled up the carcasses as Emmett set them on fire. Mike watched the flames engulfed the kills. Bella stayed silent as she watched the fur burn off of the animals before is disintegrated the meat and charred the bones. ‘Wonder how mad Jacob is at me’ the brunette thought before Alice gasped and held her head.

After a few moments the vampire lets her hands drop to her sides and smiled.

“Sorry……it seems that was a false alarm” Alice smiled.

“False alarm? You can have those?” Mike asked.

“Yep but I am use to them so usually I blow them off” the pixie vampire replied as she pulled Jasper behind a tree.

Mike blinked but returned to nuzzling on Edward. Carlisle buried the last remains of the kills and sighed at his work. Esme covered the freshly dug hole with leaves and branches.

Alice made sure that no one was paying attention to her or Jaz before sighing.

“It wasn’t a false alarm” the teen whispered.

“What did you see?” Jaz asked.

“Bella leaving us and going…..to the wolf pack. It was the first time that I could see them but they willingly take her in” Alice whimpered.

“You mean after everything we have done for her, she is going to turn her back on us?” the honey blonde growled.

“It looks like it. At least Edward will have his true mate by his side” the black haired female replied.

“I’m going to kill her!” Jasper roared as he ran in front of Bella.

Alice stood with wide eyes as her husband roared. She had never seen him so enraged. The teen forgot to block her thoughts from Edward and they slipped out.

“HOW DARE YOU!” Jasper snarled.

“Wh…What is wrong with you?” Bella whimpered.

“You are going back to that mutt! My family gave you everything and now that you are a vampire you are going to throw it all away” the honey blonde male yelled.

“Jacob isn’t a mutt leech!” Bella screamed.

“Isabella……you are heartless” Edward said in a dead voice.

“Edward….please I didn’t mean……” the brunette cried.

“Save your tears for your lover. Just know this, we will not protect you; not even if the pack attacks and kills you. You are a leech as well and I would highly recommend that you never call a family member that name in my presence” the bronze haired teen smirked.

Bella backed away from the still roaring Jasper and the rest of the clan. Victoria slinked out of the woods and laughed.

“You did a perfect job my sweet Bella” the red head purred.

“Goodbye Cullens” Bella smiled as she walked off with the older female.

Mike sobbed as Bella said her final goodbye. Edward wrapped his arms around the teen’s waist and he closed his eyes. Jasper calmed down once he could no longer smell Bella.

“Are you going to leave me to?” Edward growled.

“No, I’m here for as long as you want me” Mike whimpered.

Esme held a hand over her dead heart and hung her head. It was like losing her baby all over again. Carlisle picked up the women into his arms and let her hide the face in his neck. Emmett cracked his knuckles as Peter held him back. Rosalie hatefully looked at where Bella had vanished and growled. Charlotte held Alice as the young woman broke down. For once Alice hated having her visions.

“Come on, we need to leave this area and go back home” Emmett finally said as he calmed slightly.

“We need to focus on getting rid of Victoria and then protecting the town” Rosalie added in.

Edward picked Mike up into his arms and ran back to the cars with his family. Esme and Rose drove the cars back to their homes. Mike yawned out before he fell asleep in the vampire’s lap.

“Carlisle……he is sleeping” Edward said amazed.

“Sleeping????? He is turning out to be an amazing vampire” the doctor gasped.

The Cullen house was quite as the clan loaded out of the cars. Edward carried Mike into the house as the blond continued to sleep. Esme rushed into the house. Edward carried Mike up to his room and laid him down on his bed. Rosalie helped Emmett clean up the living room. Carlisle put away all of his doctor supplies.

“What are we going to do?” Alice asked softly.

“Right now we focus on making sure that Mike is safe and keeping the town safe. We also need to watch out for the wolf pack in case they decide to come back to settle the score” Emmett replied as he fell onto the couch.

“Carlisle do you think Mike will be able to eat human food?” Esme pondered.

“I honestly have no clue, vampires are not suppose to sleep but Mike is. Time will only tell” the blond doctor smiled.

Jasper looked out of the windows as Alice wrapped her arms around the older vampire. Rosalie fell on top of Emmett laughing. Peter and Charlotte were back in the loveseat relaxing. Their red eyes were rimmed in amber gold.

“We need a vampire dog” Alice whined.

“Why do we need a vampire dog?” Jaz asked as he lifted an eyebrow.

“It would be fun to have an animal run around and to play with. It gets boring here sometimes” the black haired teen said as she pouted.

“You just want on to take on the wolves” Emmett smirked.

“Wouldn’t hurt to have a big, vicious dog to guard the house from unwanted” Alice giggled.

Jasper shook his head at his wife and sighed. Esme pulled out a computer and started to look up shelters for animals. Alice skipped over to join her mother as Carlisle joined Jasper by the window.

“Vampire dog? Next they will want a tiger or lion” the doctor said as he cracked a grin.

“I vote for a lion” Edward said as he came back into the room.

“No, first a dog that is a big beastie!” Alice chirped as she glared at her older brother.

Mike whined in Edward’s arms as he snuggled deeper into the cool skin. Rosalie smiled at the blond as Emmett rubbed her back.

“Ok what type of dog?” Rose asked.

“We can go with a mastiff, Great Dane, pit bulls, German shepherds or any of the mentioned breeds but mixed together” Esme replied.

“Then we could always go with our own pack of wolves” Alice grinned.

“How about hybrids, they are larger than wolves and they still have a wild side to them” Carlisle offered.

“Hybrids it is then, there is a local rescue group that is needing to find a home for six of their hybrids. It says that they have formed a tight knit pack and they have an alpha male and female. The female is pregnant and very healthy” Esme read.

“We can go see the pack and decide if they are the right ones for here” Carlisle nodded.

Alice giggled more as she looked over the photos of the hybrid pack. Mike groaned awake and opened his red eyes. Edward kissed the teen’s forehead and sat down into a recliner.

“Hey sleepy” the bronze haired vampire smiled.

“Hi, where you all talking about dogs?” the blond smiled.

“Yeah we are thinking about getting some to keep out unwanted people. Esme found a pack of hybrids that we are going to go visit” Edward answered.

“Hybrids are my favorite type of dog but I was always scared to own one. Most breeders, not the good ones. They won’t tell you that hybrids are a large dog and most have kept their wild in them” Mike yawned.

“Alice wants to turn them into vampires like us” Rose grinned.

“A family isn’t complete without them” the red eyed teen replied as he stretched.
