It had been a week since Felix had joined the Cullen household. And Jasper was a very happy camper. He had both of his mates, and they were forceful warriors. He did not have to fight anymore, not that he wouldn’t fight to protect them and his family. But his mates gave him love and security. Now a month after Felix had joined the family, and everyone seemed to be settled in well.

Carlisle looked around the house amazed at his extended family. They had all joined together as a family. And he had maintained his role as father. He smiled thinking of his children. The most shocking for Carlisle of his family was when young Seth had called him dad. He had never felt as proud in his life as he did now, his family was truly amazing.

Esme virtually radiated happiness. Her new children had made her children so happy. She had never thought in all her life to see Edward and Jasper smile the way they do now. She had spent hours with Leah and Alice playing with makeup and hair. It was the real girl time that she had dreamed of sharing with a daughter. And now she had been blessed with two wonderful girls to share her mother/daughter time with. Since Jacob, Paul, Leah and Seth had joined the family she had someone to cook for. With their appetite she could make mountains of food for them. She will never forget the day that Seth had come into the kitchen holding his plate with two hands and asked, “Mom, can I have some more?” Esme had never wanted to cry so much since she had been turned. Instead she just hugged him to her and kissed his head saying, “Of course you can sweetheart.”

Edward thought back to a couple of months ago. He had given up any hope of ever having his Emmett. But now he not only had Emmett but James and Jacob made him feel complete in ways that he never imagined possible. The others had settled into the roles of siblings. He was amazed at how much closer they were as a family than they had ever been. Edward spent most of his time with his mates, either all of them or individually. But, he found that he enjoyed spending time with his new siblings as well. Felix was amazing to play chess against and they spent hours doing so. He had also discovered that Paul had a very dry wit that he enjoyed. And little Seth had become the little brother that Edward did not know he wanted. Edward rather looked forward to his time tutoring Seth in his school work. When James had expressed an interest in learning the piano Edward could barely contain his joy.

Emmett seemed to have a smile permanently on his face. He did not think life could ever be this good. He had his mates and they were WONDERFUL. All in all Emmett felt more a part of the family than he ever had before. Esme had been shocked when he told her that he wanted to learn how to cook. The first time he helped make dinner and Jacob and the others had said how good it was the smile on Emmett’s face would have light up a room. Emmett had also made it his mission, along with Paul, to train Seth. He would make sure little Seth could take care of himself.

Jasper was amazed at the change in the house. The entire house now radiated with love and happiness. There had not been any negative emotions for a while and it felt so good. He too, like the others, took his time tutoring Seth. And was amazed that Leah shared his love of books and the two of them would spend hours discussing the latest book they had read. Ever the strategist Jasper discovered what an amazing chess player Felix was. The two spent as much time playing as they could. Jasper had decided that his favorite place to read was now a private rose garden in the back yard. He had been in awe when Paul hand designed and planted it. Now to Jasper it felt like an oases in the middle of Eden.

Alice was having the time of her life shopping for clothes. She could play with just about any look; from Edward and James’ more preppy look to Paul and Felix’s more rugged image. Even Seth was developing his own style, which included skinny jeans and hoodies. She and Esme had developed a closer mother/daughter relationship that included Leah. Her Leah was beautiful, once she got her out of flannel shirts, t-shirts and jeans. James was the most wonderful brother ever, and the two of them spent hours playing board games. She knew there was some more trouble looming on the horizon. But, her family would make it through, she just knew they would…they had to.

James was experiencing a high from the intentions in the house. He had never been around so much positive energy in his life. His mates were amazing and his family was equally amazing. Edward had been so pleased that he wanted to learn the piano and they spent time practicing every day. James too took his turn tutoring Seth, the gangly teen was going to be quite a man at the rate he was going. He had never felt so much love, between his mates and his new family they had done a great deal in healing him from the things that were done to him in the past.

Jacob had taken his rightful place as alpha of his new pack. He was also doing better in school than he ever had. There was always someone to help him with his school work. And with the number of times the Cullen’s had already been through school he was learning a lot. Everyone in the house seemed to be getting along great. Even Leah who had been rather jaded and bitter. As a matter of fact Jacob now thought that he was closer to Alice and Leah as sisters than to his own sisters. Seth, as he always had been, was the little brother that Jacob never had. But, what surprised him was that Paul was not only a good beta, he was turning into a trusted friend.

Paul who would be the first to admit that he often had a problem with his temper and been told that he should look into anger management. He now found himself to be a changed man. The presence of his mates in his life had changed everything. He still had a temper but it was much more under control. And he had infinitely more patience. Paul was equally surprised to find that while he and Jacob had always been good friends. Jacob now fell into the best friend category that Paul had never really been able to achieve before. He also found that he really liked his job at the hospital. And with Carlisle’s encouragement he was looking forward to starting nursing school.

Leah who had been bitter for years when he long term boyfriend Sam had imprinted on her cousin. She now knew what imprinting was like and could no longer blame Sam, even if it had hurt her at the time, although that did not excuse him being an ass now. She found that she was enjoying her life now that she had found her mate. She was even being nicer to her little brother Seth. And for the first time she could explore being more feminine, something she could not do being the only girl surrounded by boys. Seeing how that had been the case for her most of her life, she was finally getting to enjoy being a girl.

Felix did not have any memory of his human life and whether he had been a part of a family or not. So, to him this was the most amazing thing. He had his mates and was part of a large and growing close knit family. Having never experienced anything like it in his vampire life, Felix was shocked to find that he liked have parental figures. Esme and Carlisle were awesome parents; they showed love for everyone in the house, encouraged and supported them. They even seem genuinely proud when someone accomplished something. Felix spent hours playing chess with his new siblings and getting to know them. His time with the Volturi had been nothing like this. All in all he had never expected his life to be so full of love.

Seth would never forget his real parents. But Carlisle and Esme had accepted him into their family and taken on the roll of parents to him. And Esme was the greatest cook ever! She also made sure that Seth could have as much as he wanted, even holding back stuff in the kitchen for him so the bigger and older guys didn’t eat it all. Seth also found that he actually liked school now. Well who wouldn’t when they were top of their class. He had loads of new siblings who were all too happy to spend however long it took to tutor and train him. He was learning so many amazing things. Even his sister Leah was being nicer to him. Now, if he could just get them to stop ruffling his hair. Especially when he just got it perfect!

It was a Saturday evening when the peace of the Cullen household was shattered. Carlisle had taken Esme to Port Angeles for a movie. It had been sometime since the couple had been on a date.

The family was spread out throughout the house. Jacob and Paul were battling over a video game. Emmett and Felix were wrestling in the back yard. Jasper was helping Seth with his homework. Alice was doing something upstairs and Leah was reading a book. Edward sat playing his piano while he waited for James to return. James was still getting used to his new diet and had to hunt more than the rest of them. Well, except for Felix but he had already returned.

Alice came down the stairs holding a pair of jeans and a sundress. As her foot touched the floor at the bottom of the stairs Edward slammed his hands down on the piano keys. In unison they said, “James.”

Edward was running in a flash. He didn’t even stop to open the door to the back yard as he ran through it full speed.

The others followed outside. Jacob, Paul, Leah and Seth jumped off the back deck, phasing in mid air and hitting the ground running. All of the siblings where now hot on Edward’s heels, when through the pack and mates bonds they all heard Edward scream, “We’re coming…hold on!”
