Chapter One: Caught
“When will this ship stop rocking back and forth?!” Lucy thought to herself. “I will honestly faint if I have to take another night of this.”
Lucy looked over to the water barrels and thought to herself how nice it would be to have a small drink of water. “The wind is chilly, it might have cooled the water a bit” She thought. But before she could move towards the water barrels another thought came to her mind. Her, Prince Caspian, Edmund, Eustace and all the crew men have been stuck on this ship for days with no sign of land anywhere in sight. Because of this, Caspian put strict limits on how much water each crew member could drink each day so they could conserve as much as possible.
“If we run out of water it’ll be all my fault” Thought Lucy. Just then the ship went over a rather large wave causing Lucy to lose her balance and fall forwards, a great wave went through her stomach as Lucy tried to hold back her vomit.
“Oh! To hell with it!” She said out loud. “A small cup won’t hurt!” This was all the convincing she needed. Lucy picked herself up off the deck and sprinted towards the water barrels. Carefully looking around to make sure no one was coming Lucy poured half a cup of water into a nearby mug. She lifted the mug to her mouth and allowed the small portion of water slowly trickle down her throat, savoring every last bit of it.
“What do you think your doing?” asked a voice from behind her. Lucy immediately stiffened, put down the mug and slowly turned around to face her cousin Eustace.
Now Eustace was a very stubborn boy who never wanted to come on this trip in the first place and did everything in his power to make sure his disapproval of everything was known, especially his disapproval on the water rationing.
“I’ve been keeping a good tally” Eustace said, “And by my calculations, you’ve already had your share of water for the day.”
“Please Eustace! I was feeling dreadfully ill; I just needed a bit of water. Half a cup will do nothing to our supply.” Lucy tried to explain.
“Nothing to our supply? How could you possibly know how much supply we have? You’re just a girl! Besides, how can I believe you only had half a cup?”
“I did Eustace, honest! I would never lie, you know that!”
“Either way, I’m going to tell Caspian about this” Eustace said as he turned to head downstairs.
Lucy panicked. If Caspian found out he would be so disappointed in her. He would have to rework the entire drinking limits and thus informing everyone of her misdeed.
“Wait! Please don’t tell. How about this? You can take my share of the water tomorrow. I won’t tell and you won’t tell. Sound good?” Lucy was grasping at straws. Eustace smiled as he turned back around to face Lucy.
“No, that won’t work.” He said. “Before you know it you’ll faint and then everyone will be pointing fingers at me and my resilience under the hot sun. No, that won’t work at all.”
“Okay, what do you want then? I got a lot of stuff from Narrowhaven, they’re in my cabin now. You can have anything you like.”
“Hmmm…” Eustace tried to think of all the things Lucy got from Narrowhaven but all he could remember were bracelets, shoes and necklaces – All useless to him.
“I doubt very much that you have anything I would like.” Eustace said in that ‘I’m better than you are’ tone he had perfected over the years.
“Well, come and take a look anyway. Maybe you’ll see something nice for your mom?” Lucy was really trying anything to get off the hook at this point.
“Fine, I’ll go. But I’m not making any promises.” He said as he followed Lucy up the stairs, down the hallway and into her cabin.
At first he was taken aback. He had forgotten that Lucy got Caspian’s cabin after they unexpectedly join him on his voyage. The cabin was decked out in reds with gold trimming everywhere, and the bed looked so plush and comfortable.
“Enjoying your stay at the Dawn Treader Inn are we?” Eustace asked mockingly.
Completely missing Eustace’s sarcasm Lucy replied, “Yes, this trip has been a real adventure.”
Rolling his eyes Eustace began to circle the cabin. He picked up a small red trinket box, opened it and closed it fast when he saw the pink necklaces it contained.
“See, I knew you’d have nothing for me.” He complained.
“Wait, Wait! What about this?” Lucy picked up a beautiful scarf. “You can even start wearing it now!”
“Haha, no.” said Eustace.
Lucy then went to the closet, bent down to her knees and started searching through the many boxes in it. Eustace was watching her, waiting for her to emerge with something, anything that he would even consider taking. As he watched her his eyes traced the shape of her body and stopped when they came to her butt. “Wow, she’s fit” Eustace thought. “That green dress looks rather nice with her hair.” Just then a sinister grin formed on his face.
“Hey Lucy, did you get that dress from Narrowhaven?”
“Huh?” Lucy asked turning to look at Eustace.
“The dress you’re wearing. Is it from Narrowhaven?” Eustace asked again as his palms got sweaty.
“Yes, you should know that. Does this look like anything I could buy from a shop in England?” Lucy laughed as she stood up.
“Well, I rather like it. It would be a nice gift for one of my future girlfriends.”
“Okay! So I give you the dress, and you keep your mouth shut?” Asked Lucy
“Oh, my mouth will be anything but closed” Eustace thought to himself but dare not say, at least, not yet. Instead he nodded.
“Alright, I’ll have it washed for you in the morning.” Lucy smiled as she started to show Eustace the door.
“You don’t need to wash it, just give it to me right now.”
Eager to get this exchange over with Lucy agreed. “Alright… just leave the cabin and I’ll take it off.” She said
“Why? Just take it off.” Eustace smiled.
“Come on Eustace. Just step outside for one second.”
“Why? So you can hide it somewhere that I can’t find it?”
“What?! That’s ridiculous Eustace. Why would I do that? We’re making a deal here.”
“I don’t trust you. I obviously can’t trust you to follow the rules about the water limits, how can I trust you with the rules of a trade?” Eustace said.
“I can’t undress while you’re standing there. At least turn away!” Lucy was getting rather impatient with this.
“No. How about I just take it off for you?” Eustace said as he moved closer to Lucy.
Lucy took a step back, her impatience turned to nervousness. “Eustace, you can’t talk like that, you’re my cousin.”
“You’re right. I am your cousin. But I think all logical rules flew out the window when we were pulled into this world through a painting, don’t you?” Eustace took a step forward.
“Eustace, if you do anything to me Edmund will have your head! He already despises you.” Lucy took another step back but was stopped short by the cabin wall.
There she was, pressed against the wall. Totally afraid, totally vulnerable. “And mine for the taking” thought Eustace.
In one fast move Eustace was on Lucy, holding back her flailing arms with his stronger ones.
“You tell anyone and I’ll tell Caspian AND Edmund that you’ve been stealing water since the water limit was put in effect.”
“That’s a lie, and you know it!” Lucy said with tears forming in her eyes as she continued to struggle against Eustace.
“I know it, and you know it but no one else does.” Eustace smiled as brought his face closer to Lucy’s.
“No one will believe you!” Lucy said.
“I don’t know. Everyone knows I’ve been keeping a tally. Why would I lie? Especially about the most unlikely thief on this ruddy boat. Is that really a risk you’re willing to take? What would dear old Caspian think about you then?
In one swift movement Eustace grabbed the scarf Lucy had offered before and tied her hands unbearably tight behind her back.
“Ouch! Eustace that really hurts! Please, please stop!” Lucy pleaded.
“But it’s so much fun!” Eustace replied in his most unflattering impression of Lucy. He reached behind him and pulled out the small knife Caspian had given him to help with the duties on the ship. In one chilling moment Lucy feared Eustace would cut her as he brought the knife up to her face. But he guided it downwards and placed it on the v-neck collar of her dress.
“Now don’t move.” He warned. “I’m not that skilled with this thing yet.”
Eustace began in a see-saw motion cutting through the fabric. At that moment Lucy brought her right knee up to hit Eustace in that area she had seen many school boys whimper to the ground over. But Eustace was too quick for her – he shielded himself with his left leg and then used it to knock Lucy’s leg to the side. With her legs now partly open Eustace stepped forward to fill in the gap with his body.
Lucy, now being completely defenseless started to shake. Eustace took no notice to this as be resumed cutting her dress straight down the middle, slowly separating the two parts to reveal her under-dress. A little upset with the anti-climactic discovery of Lucy’s under-dress Eustace stopped cutting the dress and went back up to cut the under-dress along with the dress, this time much more satisfied when he pulled it away to reveal bare skin.
“Eustace, please…” Lucy pleaded. Eustace looked up at her with angry eyes and shook the knife in her face as a silent threat.
Eustace was careful not to touch her skin until the entire dress was cut in half and slid down to join the knotted scarf around Lucy’s wrists.
“Wow. I often thought about this, but none of my dreams could match what I’m seeing right now” Eustace said.
“You’re sick Eustace! All this because I took a sip of water?!”
“Yes. Well, partly yes. Also because I’ve been dying to find out what little Queen Lucy has to offer her subjects. Nice underwear by the way, did you pick those up in Narrowhaven as well?” Eustace chuckled as his right hand moved to caress Lucy’s collar bone; damn near the only skin Lucy normally left exposed besides her face and hands. Lucy shuddered at his touch, making Eustace smile even more. His left hand moved up to her hair - at first just moving the few strands from her face but then burying his knuckles into it, forcing her head back. Smashing his lips onto Lucy’s with such speed that Lucy barely had time to react.
Later Lucy recalled this kiss as sloppy and wet. Hurried and wild. Contrary to anything she ever hoped for in her first kiss.
Eustace pulled back clearly out of breath and flushed. Lucy, grateful for some air, began crying.
“Oh god, do shut up!” Eustace said, pulling at her hair that was still intertwined in his fist. The fierceness in his eyes and the strength of his pull made clear to Lucy that she should stop crying immediately.
“Don’t be so sad, this can be fun for you too.” Eustace moved his right hand from her collar bone and place it over her left breast eliciting a gasp from Lucy’s lips. “Just my size” Eustace thought.
Complete fear ran through Lucy’s body and mind. “Why is he doing this?” Lucy thought. All her life she had believed being a good person was enough to keep her out of harms way. The scarf around her wrists began to dig in to her flesh as she tried to pull herself free from them.
Meanwhile Eustace returned to kissing Lucy’s face with such force and passion he had forgotten about much of his surroundings. His manhood was fully erect and Lucy felt it on her leg, not completely sure what it was. He trailed his left hand from Lucy’s hair to lightly pass over Lucy’s right breast and continue downwards. He placed his hand on the band of her underwear about to dip his hand into her treasure box when the ship went over large wave and shook immensely.
Both Lucy and Eustace lost their balance a bit, breaking the kiss. This brought Eustace back to reality. He quickly looked down at his watch and saw that it was already three in the morning and within moments the crew would be waking to start the new day.
“Well it looks like your time is up.” Eustace said as he backed away from her.
“It’s a shame though, this was great.” He leaned to the right and pulled at one end of the scarf that was tied around Lucy’s wrists, loosening it but not completely untying it. “Just in case she wants to try something…” Eustace thought.
“Remember what I told you. If you tell anyone about this I’ll do everything I can to make you look like the liar and me the innocent victim.”
With that Eustace casually walked to the door, stepped out, turning only to give Lucy one patronizing wink.
Once he was gone Lucy quickly untied the scarf and ran to the closet to get her a new dress to wear. When she was dressed she ran to her bed and cried herself to sleep. Later when Edmund came to wake Lucy she said she wasn’t feeling well. A confused Edmund gave Lucy a hug and get-well wishes and left her cabin to rest up.
