Please review on this story, this is the first Twilight Series story that I have written and I am happy about hos it is turning out. I am sorry if this first chapter rushes a little, I prommise to slow down on the next chapter.

Edward Cullen sat with his family sat at their usual lunch table. No one would come near them except for Bella Swan. She was the only person in the entire school that knew the Cullen family secret, every one of them was a vampire. Bored, Edward watched the students mingle with each other. Bella was sitting with her usual group that included Mike Newton.

“You know, you could ask them sit over here” Alice Cullen, a petite vampire with black spiky hair and pixie like features.

“It would be entertaining to watch you walk over to a human and ask them to sit with you” Rosalie smirked as she played with her blond hair.

“Right now he is thinking about slamming his head on the table to make the voices stop” Edward replied as he glared at Rosalie.

“You must mean his female friends all talking at once except for Bells” Jasper said with a yawn as Alice petted his honey blond hair.

Emmett wrapped an arm around Rosalie’s shoulders to keep her from attacking Edward. Jasper looked over at Bella’s table and blinked slowly. Alice gasped as her eyes clouded over with a vision.

“Oh…..dear…..it seems that…hmmmm” Alice shook her head.

“What did you see?” Edward demanded.

“Mike….and some other teen. It was too fast to catch anything but I think that Mike is about to be dumped or something like that” the small vampire replied.

Edward’s gold eyes flashed and started to darken as he kept his gaze on the blond haired teen.

Mike could feel eyes on him but he was too scared to look around and bring attention to him. Bella noticed that her usually talkative friend was near silent.

“Mike…is something wrong?” the brown haired teen asked softly.

“Something…feels off today and I can’t figure out what it is. One of my good friends has avoided me all day and I don’t know why. And now it feels as if holes are being bored into me from someone” the blond haired male confessed.

“That does sound just a little strange. I’m sorry about your friend avoiding you, that isn’t right. Of course I know how you feel though and it sucks” the accident waiting to happen teen sighed.

“Bella….can we leave the lunch room and go outside where it isn’t as noisy? There is something that I want to talk to you about in private” Mike asked.

“Yeah, let’s go” Bella smiled as the two teens got up and left the noisy room.

Edward tensed up as he saw Mike leave with Bella. Jasper felt the tension and shivered.

“Edward….don’t worry. Mike isn’t alone, he is just talking to Bella in their next class which is your Chemistry class” Alice said as she tried to calm the vampire down.

“I am going down there to make sure nothing happens to them” Edward replied as he also left the lunch room.

Slowly the golden eyed teen made his way to his Chemistry class where he could hear Bella and Mike talking softly inside of the empty class.

“Bella..I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried to make things work but it has all blown up in my face. Now I keep getting strange messages and threats” Mike whimpered.

“It sounds like this guy isn’t right for you. I mean if he loved you, he wouldn’t be sending threats or trying to harm you” Bella replied as she hugged Mike close.

“I know, maybe the guy for me doesn’t live here. It just sucks right now” the blond haired teen sighed as he hugged Bella back.

Bella smiled as she looked up at the doorway and saw Edward. The vampire was watching Mike closely making Bella blink then smile more. Mike pulled back away from the brown haired teen and followed her gaze to Edward in the doorway.

“Ohh……hi Edward, I didn’t hear you walk up” Mike said blushing slightly.

“I am very quiet, usually I scare my brothers and sisters. I couldn’t help but overhear the tail end of your conversation. Is someone trying to hurt you?” Edward asked.

“Just…my soon to be ex-boyfriend. I caught him cheating on me at a party and I told him it was over. He didn’t take the news all that well and has been making my life hectic” the blond answered.

“So what is the jerk’s name?” the vampire asked with black ringed eyes.

“He is the captain of the football team, no one important. I’m ready to move on from him anyway” Mike replied.

Edward nodded and sat in his usual seat in the middle of the classroom. Mike relaxed and laid his head on the table. Bella sat beside Edward and smiled at the older teen. Edward smiled back and took out his class books.

Mike jumped as his cell rang out. Bella looked back at the teen worried as fear flashed through the blonde’s eyes. Edward growled as Mike’s fear filled thoughts entered his mind. Suddenly the teen rushed out of the classroom making Bella blink.

“Umm….Edward…maybe you should go after him. He looked scared” the brown haired female whispered.

“If I am not back before class starts could you take some notes for Mike and I?” the vampire asked.

“I can do that now go after your man” the female giggled.

Edward rushed out of the room following after the scent of Mike, which consisted of pine and rain. The teen was heading back towards the lunch room making Edward frown. ‘What is Mike doing?’ the 17 year old thought as he walked into the packed lunch room.

Mike was standing in front of a much taller student that was glaring down at the blond. Alice along with the rest of her family were watching the two closely. Jasper was shaking with the tension rising in the room. The entire lunch room fell silent as the taller boy pushed Mike backwards.

“FIGHT!!” students yelled out as Mike pushed the taller teen back into a table.

Emmett stood up as the taller teen grabbed Mike by the front of his shirt. Edward snarled as he took a step toward the two. Bella rushed into the room and gasped.

“Edward help him!!” the teen pleaded.

The bronze haired vampire rushed over to Mike as the older teen threw out a punch and hit Mike in the jaw. The teen cried out and feel to the floor but before Edward could reach him a chair was thrown on top of his head. Laughing the taller teen never saw Edward’s well aimed fist into his face. Bella ran over to Mike’s side and gently moved the chair off revealing the damage done. A pin could have been dropped in the slient room as the blond haired teen reached up to his head and felt something sticky.

“Oh god Mike” Bella gasped as she saw all of the blood.

“Bells…..how bad is it?” Mike asked in a whisper as he pulled his blood covered hand down in from of face.

“It’s bad Mike, don’t move alright and try to stay awake” the brown haired female relplied sadly.

Edward smelled the blood and felt his thirst growing. Jasper held tightly onto Alice’s hand as he fought with himself to try and gain back control. Mike shivered as Bella tried to staunch the flow of blood. Edward’s eyes turned black as he turned to look at Mike. Emmett grabbed a hold of the older teen to keep him from running away.

“Edward please….don’t lose control. Mike needs you to be strong right now” Bella whimpered as Mike slowly started to loose consciousness.

“Bella……I want it so bad right now” the vampire gasped as he breathed in the scent deeply.

“Mind over matter, remember that lesson? Stop breathing in the scent and stop breathing all together” the teen ordered.

Alice had her phine out and was talking as fast as she could into it for an ambulance to hurry and come to the school. Emmett dragged the taller teen into the office and hurried back into the lunch room. Edward stopped breathing and his eyes started to lighten back up little by little.

Mike groaned out as he opened up his green eyes. All that he could see was blurry outlines of Bella and Edward. Paramedics rushed into the lunch room and got Mike strapped onto their gurney. Edward’s eyes flashed back to dark and Bella pulled him out of the room along with Jasper.

“Jasper you need to call your father and let him know about Mike” Bella said softly.

Rosalie, Emmett and Alice joined the three outside as Mike was loaded up into the ambulance. Jasper pulled out his cell phone and dialed his father. Edward took deep calming, but unneeded, breathes until all of the scent of Mike’s rich blood was gone. Alice paced as she rubbed her temples.

“Thank you Bells” the bronze haired vampire whispered.

“You are welcome Edward, I couldn’t let you expose your secret and I know that you wouldn’t have wanted to hurt Mike” the brown haired teen replied with a shiver.

“You still don’t like to see blood do you?” Alice asked.

“No I thought that I was going to pass out before the paramedics came. I’m going to head on over to the hospital and stay with Mike” Bella replied softly.

“Alright, we will be right behind you after we talk to the teachers and get our things” Emmett said as he hugged Rosalie close.

Bella nodded as she ran over to her truck and got in. Edward shuddered as Bella pulled out the parking lot.

“Alice……I could have killed them both. I really am a monster” the gold, black tinted eyed vampire cried out.

“Edward calm down. You didn’t kill them. Let’s talk to the teachers and tell them what happened then we can go to the hospital. You are not a monster” Alice replied as she hugged Edward.

Jasper closed his phone and sighed loudly. Edward relaxed in his sister’s arms. Rosalie held onto Emmett tightly as a few teachers came closer to the group.

“Excuse us but we need to know if you saw what happened to Mike Newton” one of the teachers asked.

“Thank you for the information, the school is going to be pressing charges against the assaulter” the teachers replied before they walked off to the office.

“Let’s go to the hospital and keep Bella and Mike company” Jasper said softly as Alice held onto his arm.

Edward nodded as he walked over to Emmett’s Jeep. Jasper jumped in the back and pulled Alice into his lap. Rosalie sat beside the two as Emmett got into the driver’s seat. The large teen started up the Jeep and sped out of the parking lot and drove to the hospital.

Bella paced in the emergency room waiting to hear about Mike when Edward rushed into the room.

“Have you heard anything?” the vampire asked.

“All that I know is that they have had to give him a transfusion and that he is going to need surgery since he has skull fragments that need to be put back together. Your father told me that he could have some memory loss but he is lucky” Bella replied as she continued to pace.

“Bells……talk to me. I need to know what you are thinking and I need you to keep me from tracking down that human and killing him” the bronze haired teen growled.

“All that I am thinking about is if Mike is going to be ok. I’m scared and angry. Mike didn’t deserve to be hurt like this, all that he wants is to find someone that loves him” the brown haired female replied as she finally sat down.

Edward sat at the teen’s feet and leaned back against her legs as the rest of the Cullen family rushed in. Alice sat beside Bella and wrapped her up in a hug. Jasper along with Emmett looked at magazines. Rosalie sat on the other side of Bella and stared at a wall.

“Bella how long before we know anything?” Alice asked.

“Carlisle said that the surgery could take a few hours. Mike’s parents are on their way. Mike should be done with getting his transfusion so all that we have to do is wait until Carlisle is done with the surgery” the younger teen answered.

“Mike is strong and I know that he will pull through” the pixie vampire replied as she held the human closer.
