Richard glanced over at Mika as they headed back to her house.
She ran her tongue slowly along her lower lip as she looked out the window, then turned, smiling widely at him and resting a hand on his thigh. "Thank you... for coming." Her fingers stroked the warm denim, caressing him.
He gave her a hard look as he stopped at a red light. "What are you doing?"
Her lips parted in shock. "What do you mean? I'm thanking you for coming with me today... I'm sorry." Mika pulled her hand back, the fingers sliding up the warm denim before being held tightly in her lap. Swallowing, she looked out the window.
"It's just that I don't want to crash the car." He said, trying to breathe in the tightness of his pants. He looked out the window as he began to accelerate.
"Why would you crash?" She frowned, pressing a hand to his cheek, then ran her fingers down his neck. "You don't feel hot..."
"You... touched my thigh... and it turned me on..." He admitted to her.
"Touching you like this..." She slid her hand over his thigh again, gently caressing him. "Turned you on?"
He gripped the steering wheel. "That would be the touch."
Mika brushed her fingers down his abdomen, then over the strained fly of his pants. "Wow... I didn't think I affected you that much..."
"You always affect me like this Mika. We're mates." Richard looked over at her. "It will always be like this between us."
"The light is yellow, love." She blushed, pulling her hand back in her lap and bit her lip. Glancing at him, she saw his arousal, and shifted in her seat, feeling moisture pool between her thighs.
He quickly slowed the car to a stop. He looked a bit embarrassed. Mika could turn him on so easily and distract him.
"I'm sorry..." Mika murmured, her voice husky, unintentionally showing how much turning him on turned her on. "I didn't intend to..."
Oh, God, why did her voice have to sound like that...? It was so damn hot, "Mika," He moaned, “You're killing me here."
"I didn't do anything!" She squeaked, shifting in her seat once more and squeezing her thighs together to try and grant herself some release from the tension there.
Richard caught her scent. God, he needed to reach his house soon or pull off the road. He drove a bit faster.
"You're speeding, Richard..." Mika licked her lips, watching him.
He slowed down a bit. "I just want to get home is all."
"Oh?" Mika's beast pushed closer to the surface, despite her trying to hold it back, and rubbed along Richard's.
"Fuck." Richard said as his wolf rose up. "Mika, dear, we're almost there. I need you to hold on just a bit longer before I kill the car."
"I'm sorry..." She hugged herself, crossing her arms over her breasts and forcing herself to look out the window, and think about anything other than Richard.
Think of something else. Baseball...sports...sex-damn it! He cracked his window a bit so he could get some fresh air.
Mika nibbled at her lower lip, feeling it become full, and swollen as if she'd just kissed Richard. She moaned softly. Damn it! Not the right train of thought! Think about... something else! Anything! Hell, think about dirty underwear... like Richard's... heady with his scent- ARG!
Richard had never been so glad to see his house before. He parked the car and was out in no time flat. "We need to go inside...now." He growled.
She gasped at the look in his eyes, shutting the car door behind herself. Licking her lips, she looked him over, and somewhere, found it in herself to tease, "Now?"
He growled at her again. "I can take you here and now if you prefer."
Mika shivered, moving to slide a hand down his chest. "Take me anywhere..." Leaning up, she caught his mouth with hers, her beast once against greeting his and teasing.
He laid her back onto the hood of the car. He pressed tightly against her as he kissed her thoroughly.
She moaned, pushing against him, her hands pulling him closer as they caressed his chest.
He slid a hand up her shirt. "Mmm, Mika. You smell so good."
"Oh, God..." She arched her back into his touch. "Please..."
He bit down on her exposed neck. "Please what?"
"Touch me..." She whimpered, her fingers sliding into his hair and tightening.
He slid his hand between her legs. "Here?"
"Yes!" Mika's head fell back, resting against the warm hood over the car, her breasts pushed up like an offering.
He slid his hand into her pants and began to tease her. "You're so wet, Mika, dear."
"Richard..." She moaned his name, rocking her hips against his fingers.
"Yes?" His voice was husky as he dipped a finger into her warmth.
"Ple... please..." She clenched around his finger, looking at him with hot eyes.
He kissed her as he rubbed her clit.
She whimpered as she kissed him, growing closer to her peak, her leg pressing into his erection.
He pressed against her as continued to tease her.
"Richard!" She screamed his name, coming hard against his hand.
Richard kissed her as she came, stealing that moment of passion.
Mika panted as she came down, rubbing her leg against him. "That wasn't fair..."
"I'll be making it fair very soon." He licked a line down her throat.
She shivered. "You're a tease..." She moved so she could push his shirt up, her mouth covering one of his dark brown nipples.
Richard looked up as he heard a car pull into his driveway. He wished he could see through the garage door to see who he had to kill.
Pouting, Mika pulled back with one last lick to the turgid nub. "Who...?"
"Jason." He growled as Jason came into the garage.
"Hey...oh my God... Sorry to interrupt, but I wanted to ask Richard a question..."
Blushing darkly, Mika tried to cover herself. "I... um... I..."
Richard pulled Mika against his chest. Jason tossed over his jacket. "This couldn't wait?" Richard growled. Jason shook his head.
Grabbing the jacket, Mika wrapped it around herself, hiding her face in Richard's neck. Oh God.... she'd expected him to at least knock!
"Listen, Richard, since we're doing the double wedding, I'm no longer a best man, but we still need one. We chose you." He smiled at Richard.
Biting her lip, Mika glanced at him. "You're getting married?"
"Oh. Caleb and I are going through the motions with Jase and Nathaniel."
"Oh." She nodded, and stepped away from Richard, hugging herself. "That's... terrific. I... um..."
Richard blinked. "Me?" He asked and Jason nodded. "Thanks, but you came at a really bad time, Jason."
"I am sorry about that."
"Look... I'll see you later... I... I need to get home and make sure Elias and Sara are alright... um..." Mika blushed darkly, handing Jason his jacket back.
Jason took it grinning. "And leave Richard all alone and horny?" Richard hit him. "Oww.."
"How about this? Watch the kids for Mika."
"Bu-"
"Jason..." He growled.
"Ok. Caleb will love to see them."
"Huh?" Mika was too embarrassed to think or understand why Richard would say that. "Why would he watch them?"
"Because then we can spend sometime together." Richard said. "You won't have to worry about them."
"Not worry? With me babysitting?" Jason laughed and Richard hit him again.
"Oh... I... when?" Mika glanced at the door. "Cause... I... I need to check on them. And help Rissa with her homework... and give Elias the talk again... ya know..."
"If Jason watched them, they'll be ok. You won't have to check in on them so soon."
"But... They'll miss me?"
"If you just want to leave, just say so hun." Richard told her.
"Alright. I'm embarrassed that Jason nearly caught us having sex and need to go home and be embarrassed and hide for a while though I'm sorry if you're still in the mood... alright?" Mika said quickly, stepping towards the door again.
Richard kissed her. "It's ok." He sighed. "Go home."
"Bye Mika." Jason sang as he headed out before Richard could kill him.
Waving, Mika hurried to her car.
Richard sighed again as he watched them both leave. He would kill Jason later.
~~~~~~~~~~
Caleb sighed, stretching lazily on the bed, opening one eye to blink at the alarm clock. Urg. Sleep... Yeah, so what if it was cliche that he was a cat and he liked to sleep? Was there a better way to spend the time? ...Well, other than with Jason... or having sex with Jason.... or kissing him... or- He jumped as the phone rang. Frowning, he leaned over and grabbed it. "Hello?"
"Hello? Is Jason there?" The voice on the other end asked.
"I'm afraid he's not home right now. May I please take a message?" Fuck. He sounded like a secretary, rather than Jason's lover. Eh, whatever.
"Oh..Well this is his mother. May I ask who this is?"
He stretched, idly scratching a spot on his thigh as he sprawled nude on the bed. "Caleb... I'm Caleb..."
"Oh?'' The woman said. "You're the Caleb that my Jay is in love with?"
He squeaked. "Huh?!"
"Jase told me all about you and the double wedding. That's why I’m calling."
"I... she did? I hadn't... I thought Jason was going to... You know I'm a man, right?" Fuckin' hell! Yeah, Cale- you're a woman with a man's voice. Moron.
"Well of course I know you're a man, dear." She sighed. "It just surprised me because Jason never seemed interested in men."
"Yeah." Caleb sat up, shoving a hand through his hair. "I was a bit surprise he was interested in me..."
"Well, his father about had a heart attack, but we both love him and just want to see him again. It was horrible that he ran away."
“Jason thought you were angry with him... He doesn't exactly talk about it a lot. He was really worried about telling you guys about us on top of that." Caleb smiled slightly. "He was upset when I offered to pretend to be just friends with him when you came for Jase's wedding... being that he hadn't told me his plans yet, or asked..."
"I know, but we wanted to Jason to grow up as a human. I never thought he'd feel like an outcast. As a child he didn't understand his place. It seems he still doesn’t understand why we wanted that for him."
"And why was that?" Feeling odd talking to his lover's mother buck-naked, he grabbed a pair of pants, and began struggling into them.
"As wolves we will always be outcasts. Humans will always fear and reject us. Jason had a chance at being normal." She sounded close to tears. "I realize now, Jason thought being a wolf was normal."
"Ma'am... please, don't cry... Jason's happy. He loves what he is... Outcast or not, he's happy. He fits here... and as a human, I doubt he'd care for me..." Caleb paused. Fuck. Had Jase blabbed about him being a cat?
"Children never turn out how their parents want or think they will. I am glad that you make him happy." She paused. "He always did like cats."
He flushed. "She told you I'm a leopard, then?"
"Of course. My daughter can hide nothing from me." From what Jase had told her Caleb sounded like a nice young man. She was glad he and Jason has each other.
"Ah. Nathaniel mentioned that Jase's grandmother didn't care for interspecies marriage... I was a little worried..." Or a lot...
"I hate that woman with the fiery passion of hell. I wish she'd hurry up and die. Hugh and I almost didn't married because of her." Jason's mother half-growled.
Caleb blinked. "I... oh. I guess Nate and I shouldn't be hugely worried about her then?"
"She isn't invited. Tell Jason to not even THINK about inviting her. If he does, I swear I'll beat him."
He laughed softly, then struggled not to curse as he nearly fell trying to pull up his pants. "I won't let him. Don't worry."
"Are you ok, dear?" She sounded worried.
"Fine. I just tripped. Nearly fell. Sorry, Ma'am." Caleb bit his lip, struggling to think if he knew her name or not...
"Oh please. Just call me Susie." He could hear her smile over the phone. "Will your family be coming?"
"Oh. Susie then." He paused, growing quiet. "I'm afraid they won't be able to..."
"I was hoping I could meet them." Susie told him.
"I... my family was murdered when I was eighteen, Ma'am... I mean, Susie." Caleb left his jeans unbuttoned as he got up to pace.
"Oh, you poor thing. I'm so sorry to hear that. That must of been so awful for you." She told him. She was definitely going to mother him when she got there to make him feel better.
He shoved a hand through his hair again, looking for something with caffeine. "It's something I've had to deal with..."
"It's just too bad that you had to go through that. Well I have to go now. It was nice talking to you, Caleb."
"You too, Susie."
"Goodbye dear." Susie hung up.
Caleb pulled the phone away from his ear and stared as it as he heard the door opened, and smelled Jason's familiar scent.
"Hello, Caleb. I hope you're clothes because Rissa and Elias are with me." Jason called from the hallway.
He dropped the phone, swearing. Damn it to hell! Surprises were NOT good for his mental health! Clearly, he'd have to have a talk with the Schuylars! Doing up his fly, Caleb grabbed a shirt. "Come in!"
Rissa ran in ahead of Jason. "Hi."
"Hey, hun. How're you doing?" He finished pulling his shirt on, crouching in front of the little girl.
"What're you up to?"
"I'm here to play with you." She informed him. Jason hid a laugh.
Caleb blinked at her, then nodded slowly and seriously. "Uh huh... and why is that? Don't you prefer Aunt Mika over me?" He pulled a sad face.
Elias rolled his eyes, smiling before plopping down on the couch.
"I get to see Aunt Mika everyday though. I never get to see you. So I came to play with you."
Jason sat down next to Elias. "So I hear you have a girlfriend."
Smiling, Caleb opened his arms for a hug. "Cool."
"You did? From who?" Elias stared at the wolf.
Rissa hugged him tightly.
"From Mika." Jason smiled at him.
The teen glowered. "Figures. Why'd she tell you?"
Caleb picked up Rissa, spinning her around, making the little girl giggle happily.
"I guess she thought I could help you if you had questions or problems."
"Oh..." Elias' cheeks turned a brilliant red. "Maybe later..."
"Man, Jason's going to be jealous... I've got the pretty girl!" Caleb teased her.
She laughed. "Can I see the vampires now?" She asked him. "Cause Marlissa said they're scary, but I don't think so."
Jason looked at Caleb, telling him to leave. "How about now?"
"You're right... they're not scary. Well, some are, but these ones aren't." The leopard hitched Rissa on his hip. "Let's go, hun."
Elias shrugged. Fucking hell! He didn't want help!
"I'm gonna tell her I met vampires. It'll be so great." She half-giggled.
"Some things wrong. You seemed bummed when I picked you up."
Waving at the boys, Caleb left the room.
"I fucked up with Sara... and I don't know how..." Elias kicked off his shoes.
"Ok, start at the beginning." Jason told him.
"Umm.... I don't think you want to know..."
"Did it involved you both being naked?"
His face flushed. "Yeah..."
"So...then what happened?" Jason asked.
"She told me she wanted to have sex... and... I must be fuckin' abnormal or some shit, cause I told her I wanted to wait until I could make it perfect..." Elias looked at the wolf, feeling slightly calmer. Jason's attitude was really cool about this...
He nodded. "You always want the first time to be special. So what did she say to that?"
"Well... she said she wanted to go swimming... but I felt like an ass, cause she got me off once before... so I asked if she'd please let me try... and she said alright..."
"Ok." Jason said. "When did things get messed up?"
"Well... I told her she was sexy, and she started getting nervous... I asked what was wrong and I told her she didn't have to be around me... and she said she hadn't been touched like that before..." Elias bit his lip, "And I told her she was the most perfect thing I'd ever seen, because she is... she's amazing.... and I told her about how I was afraid I'd fuck it up... hoping to let her know I was nervous... and then she wanted to stop... and I said alright." He paused, thinking. "She said she wasn't comfortable with herself, and I told her I thought I was crap compared to her, cause I am... then suggested we go swimming, but she just wanted to leave."
Jason thought about it a moment. "Sounds like she has some self image problems. You may think she's amazing, but in her own mind she's not. Are her parents supportive of her? I had a friend who was gorgeous, but her father told her she was ugly and a slut everyday. Eventually she started to believe it."
"I haven't met them... she lives with her dad... I don't know about her mom." Elias sighed. "Seriously, she's amazing. I can't believe she would think of being with a loser like me..."
"You’re a nice guy Elias." Jason told him. "She must see the good inside of you. Most guys are jerks."
"I made fun of her when we first met."
"We all make mistakes." Jason said as Elias' cell phone began to ring.
He blinked, pulling it out. "Hello?"
"Hello, Elias. This is Sara's father." He sighed. "Please say Sara is with you."
"I... no. She's not, Sir. Is she missing?" Elias sat up, worry filling him. "When did you last see her? Was she alright? I-"
"She ran away from home last night." Her father sounded distraught. "I'd call the police, but all they'd say is that this kind of stuff happens everyday and that they're busy."
Elias looked at Jason, clearly panicking himself. "Why... why would she run away? She can't run away!"
"Her mother just got out of rehab and came home last night. I knew she would be upset...but to run away..."
Jason put his hand on the boy's shoulder to reassure him.
"When did she leave?" Elias grabbed Jason's house phone without asking, and began to dial his home number before throwing it to the wolf.
Jason caught it. "She left around nine. I thought made she went back to your house." The man groaned. "She's been out all night all alone."
"Where else would she have gone?"
"I don't know." Sara's father moaned. "I hoped you would know."
What the fuck? This guy was getting on his nerves. "Yeah, well, I'm going to go looking for her. Goodbye." He hung up the phone, throwing it on the couch.
Jason looked at him. "Where would she go?" He heard Mika pick up the phone. "Hey Mika, it's Jay. Sara's missing."
"What?" Mika frowned. "When did she go missing?"
"I would think to my house..." Elias sighed.
"Last night. Her dad just called Elias. He thought Sara was with him." Jason informed her.
"Does she have any friends?" Mika relayed the message to Richard.
Richard looked worried. "Sara has always been kind of a loner..."
Elias looked at Jason. "We've got to find her... please..."
"Alright... I want you guys to drive the roads around her house, and mine- keep looking for her, alright? I'm going to stay here... and I don't want Rissa out there or involved in this. She'll get upset, so she's not to know."
"Caleb's with her. I'll tell him to watch over her." He hung up, informed Caleb of what was happening, and they headed out to look for Sara. Richard hoped into his car to help with the search.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mika paced the house, turning on all of the lights. The phone was in the middle of the table, as was the phone book. God, what was she supposed to do here? Where were her parents? What were they doing? Why hadn't they called the cops?
Sara walked up the door of Elias' house. Her clothes were a bit wrinkled and dirty. She rubbed her arms as she thought about ringing the door bell. She felt bad that she'd run out on Elias like that. She was afraid he was mad at her. She signed and rang the doorbell. She needed someone to talk to her.
Running to the door, Mika skidded to a stop. "Sara!" she cried as she opened the door. "Oh, Sweetheart, are you okay? Come in..."
Sara stepped inside. "I'm ok. I guess my dad called you guys." She rubbed her arm again. "Sorry to worry you."
She closed the door, hugging the girl to her. "Are you alright? Are you hurt? I bet you're hungry..."
"I'm fine." She lied. "I'm not hurt and I bought some food from the store."
"You're sure?" Mika looked her over, guiding her into the kitchen. "Poor dear, you're a mess... Come and sit down, I'll get you something to drink, alright?"
"Please..just sit down. I don't want you fussing over me." She rubbed her face, a sign that she was stressed out.
"Sorry." The lupa sighed, "But you'll have to suffer through. I have kids. I worry. And you're my nephew's girlfriend, so you're one of them." Mika sat in a chair, calmly watching the girl.
"My mom...came home last night form rehab..." Sara said softly.
"Oh?" Grabbing and orange from the bowl in the middle of the table, Mika kept her face expressionless behind a calm facade. "I take it that wasn't a good thing?"
"I hate her!" She shouted. "She's nothing but a useless druggie. She messes around behind my dad’s back. And she's so horrible to me. I look like she did before the drugs screwed her body up. So she screams at me and tells me I'm ugly and that she hates me." She began to cry. "Last night, she told me my dad isn't really my father."
Biting her lip, Mika moved to hand the girl a tissue, rubbing her back. "Does your father know?"
She shook her head. "He loves her. God only knows why."
"It's hard to understand things sometimes, sweetie." Mika cupped her face, making the girl look her in the eye. "You are lovely, whether your mother thinks so or not. And not because of what you look like on the outside. That's got very little to do with it."
"She showed me my birth certificate. She had hidden it from years ago because my real father signed it. My dad had broken it off with her at the time she gave birth. He thinks that it never got signed because he wasn't there." She took the paper out of her pocket.
Mika sighed, unsure of what to do as she looked at the paper.
"The name...it sounds familiar to me." Sara shrugged. "But I can't place it."
"I don't know. Does you mother do drugs around you?"
"No. She would always go out and come home high." She looked at her.
"Is she physically violent?"
"She slaps me sometimes, but when she freaks out she takes it out on my dad."
Mika nodded, thinking. "When you're in the room?"
"Sometimes, but Dad drags her out of the room when she does." Sara told her, wondering why she was asking all these questions."
"Do you feel endangered in your home?"
"When she's there, hell yes."
Mika nodded once more. "Sara, do you know what I do for a living?"
"Um...psychologist?" She guess hoping she was right.
'That's right. I need you to understand... that with what you just told me, I, under state law, have to report what is happening in your home." Mika spoke softly and calmly. "There's a danger to you living there. It is a domestic abuse situation. Do you understand?"
She nodded. "I'll be removed from their custody. Will...I have to go to a foster home? Cause I heard those places can be even worse."
"Well... I'm hoping you won't. As far as I'm concerned, you're coming here. But it's up to you if you want that or not..."
She looked at Mika. "Live here?" She said softly. "I don't want to cause you any problems."
"Yes... live here." Mika smiled. "And you wouldn't. I'm sure of it. You would just have to help me get the downstairs room ready..."
She started crying again. "T-that's so nice of you." Her bottom lip was quivering. "I-can I go get some clothes. I won't tell dad that I'm leaving yet, just that I need some time."
"Sshh... sweetie, for tonight, I just want you to be calm, alright? Now, I have to call Elias. He's really worried, as are Richard, and Jason..."
She nodded. "Ok. I just really want to take a shower and change. Can we call them on the way?"
"Alright." Mika nodded, grabbing her purse and keys.
"Thanks." Sara followed her out to the car. They drove to her house only to find the whole house swarming with police. Sara was out of the car as soon as they stopped. An officer stopped her before she reached the lawn. "But I live there! What happened?" The officer broke the horrible news to her. Her mom had flipped out because her dad was worried about her and not paying attention to her so she'd thrown a vase at him...she cracked the back of his skull. He'd bled out in a few minutes. They'd already taken her away. Sara just stood there. She'd been so happy to get away from her dad and her mom, but now all she wanted was to see her dad.
"Sara... sweetie, you need to come with me..." Mika handed the officer a card from her purse. "I'm a friend... I'll be taking her with me tonight."
"But...my dad..." The girl began to cry. "He can't be gone...it's not true. He's lying. He has to be!"
Mika hugged the girl close, rubbing soothing circles on her back, her own eyes wet with tears.
She sobbed as Mika led her back to the car. She had wanted to leave, but not this...not for him to dead. She didn't care if he wasn't really her dad. She loved him.
The Lupa got the teen home and into the house, stress knotting the muscles in her neck and back as she helped the grieving girl.
Sara stole one of Elias' shirts and a towel then went to take a hot shower and wash the day away.
Richard and Elias arrived soon after. They'd met up when Mika had called and Richard had driven them home as fast as he could.
Mika sat at the kitchen table and laid here head door, hardly noticing as she started to cry.
Richard heard her crying. "Mika, what's wrong? What happened?''
She looked at him, and Elias stared. "Aunt Mika? Is she hurt?"
She shook her head, wiping her tears away. "She's... she's alright. When we went to her house, however... her mother killed her father... The police were there."
Richard wrapped her arms around Mika. He heard the water shut off upstairs. Poor girl. "It'll be ok. We'll help her."
Mika nodded, tucking her face against Richard's chest. "I told her she's living here..."
Elias looked stunned.
"Good. At least now she'll know she has a roof over her head." Richard rubbed her back. He looked over at Elias. "She needs you."
The teen nodded, and dashed up the stairs.
Looking up at her mate, Mika shook her head. "Sometimes I wonder, Richard... if I chose right..."
"What do you mean, Mika?" He asked her softly.
"With this... work." She bit her lower lip harshly. "How do I know I'm not just messing up someone's life based on my opinions? And... Sara... God. I don't know what to do, Richard. I mean, I can be there for her, give her a roof over her head, clothes... that stuff... but what if that's not what she needs?"
"She needs people who love and care for her to help her through it. You're a great person, Mika. You helped you niece and nephew and you'll help Sara." He kissed her.
~~~~~~~~~
Sara threw herself into Elias' arms. She hugged his tightly as she cried into his shoulder.
Elias hugged her to him, murmuring nonsense words of love and support as he held her. Memories of losing his own parents flashed before his eyes, and he buried his face in her shoulder, hiding his own tears.
Her frail form shook with the force of her sobs. She curled up on the bed with Elias. "I-I'm sorry I freaked out on you." She managed between sobs, "And I took your shirt."
"Sshh... It's alright, Sara.... it looks better on you." He pressed a kiss to her cheek, his hand rubbing her back.
She realized had a fistful of his shirt. She slowly unclenched her hand. "I want to sleep in here with you tonight. I don't want to be alone."
"That's fine. I'm not letting you sleep alone, anyway." Elias kissed her again, nearly shaking in relief that she was safe.
She returned the kiss briefly. "I love you, Elias." She whispered into his shoulder.
"I love you too, Sara." He held her close.
